Have the new iPhone 12 and if it’s not Exactly in the right spot, it won’t charge. It’s hard to find the exact spot to put your phone so it will charge. I would not recommend.

The Belkin BOOST CHARGE 10W Wireless Charging Paduse a set of magnetic coils to generate a magnetic field. This field is picked up by a matching set of coils inside the phone and use it as energy to charge the battery. But, the location of the charging coil may vary depending on the model of your phone. You can try to remove the phone case and see if the phone will charge properly.

The charging pad's behavior is quite unusual! Make sure that there are no phone case used thicker than 3mm and should only composed of lightweight plastics. Also, try charging another compatible device for further isolation.
