This is a great alternative because you can get a single cup but can use regular bags of coffee that are more affordable and also you can control the intensity of the coffee. A must buy.

And remember to raise the platform to accomodate a smaller cup, because the coffee will spray out. Other than that, this one cup coffee maker does what it says - and I'm happy with it.
