I do not know whether most toasters these days have these slots. I have had older toasters with longer slots. The model number on my receipt does not match the model number on the bottom of the toaster. The booklet clearly shows a picture of the toaster that I bought, but it describes features (illuminated dial, defrost button) that the toaster does not have. However, the quality of the toasting so far appears to be more than adequate. The slots are wide enough for bagels.

I thought well it looks like a cheap toaster. Had to let it burn several times to get the factory smell out. But was pleasantly surprised how it toast bread. I like #2.

It does an OK job of toasting, not always even. Wide slots means slots for thick slices of toast, not a wide loaf of bread. We have to flip homemade bread around because it is too wide to fit in the toaster all at once. The controls are very easy to use, and it looks really nice. So kind of a mixed bag.

Also compact size on counter compared to 4 slice..
