Good food slicer for family

Great little slicer for the money

We bought a similar slicer online with a crappy sliding mechanism for twice as much money and returned it. These cheap slicers are not easy to clean and don't do great at super thin slices but get the job done for occasional things like cutting beef for jerky or slicing pork belly for bacon. If you're just getting into stuff like that, this is a great starter unit to get you by until you start doing enough that you feel you need a larger slicer.

I've used this on steak and also a block of cheese. Steak was fresh (I'm sure frozen would have been better) and make sure the blade is oiled or sprayed with Pam as to make it not stick. Very simple to use! I did notice it made a grinding noise (only happen when it got caught on the fat of the steak) but, definitely worth $30 for occasional use.

Could not beat the price!
