This only turns off by unplugging it, there is a temperature adjustable knob but it does not have an off position. The unit is media sized and can accommodate 4 small pieces of bread or two of the larger bread types. It heats fast and cooks quicly, enough to melt cheese inside a panini and not burn outside. Temperature light to signal when item is done is not super accurate but is close when turned to higher settings. Compact enough for easy storage or counter use yet big enough for most uses. Great for students or small families on a budget and it does its job fairly well. Buy the Cuisinart if you want a larger and more versatile version, but it costs 2-3 times more. The nonstick surface works very well. There is an adjustable slide in the handle that has a locking screw to prevent the lid from falling down on your hands while you are placing items on surface, it is touchy and not engineered very well but works okay when you get used to it, BE careful though. Mine was shipped via USPS and arrive with a small piece broken off the plastic bottom corner, not enough to render it useless but enough to make it wobbly and slightly unlevel.

This grill is perfect to heat up a sandwich for a quick snack. It heats up fast, it's easy to clean and doesn't take up too much room in the kitchen.

This panini grill works well. Nothing fancy, gets the job done. Warms up pretty quickly, and its swiveling pivot works great for different heights of sandwiches. Can't say that it looks sturdy, but so far so good. I've had it for over a month and it's working just fine. I got it on the Deal of the Day, but still at full price is a fair deal.

Awesome addition to my kitchen. I use this at least once a week for a quick lunch or dinner. It heats up quickly and is easy to clean. I just wish the cord was a little longer. Highly recommend.
