Really enjoyed this movie. Had never seen the painting nor heard of Dido before seeing all of the behind the scenes features so it was nice to like the movie and learn something at the same time. Nice introduction to Gugu Mbatha-Raw for me as well.

"BELLE" IS ONE OF THE BEST FILMS OF 2014 AND I REALLY ENJOYED THIS SUPERB BRITISH FILM.

The scenery was sumptuous; the acting if not inspired at least workable; and the story both heart-wrenching and uplifting. Based on a true story (but taking dramatic liberties, of course), Belle gives a good lesson in humanity and barbarism.
