Two words: Charlton Heston. Everyone talks about the chariot race, but I like what leads up to the races.

In every years during Easter week. Wanted a copy so I can watch from the beginning when I feel like watching. Studio style movie not made the same these days .

Blu Ray is gorgeous. Detail is perfect a wonderful remaster of a classic film.

I first saw this when I was a little kid and have loved it ever since.

Epic movie making that still can't be matched today. The quality writing, music soundtrack & action sequences (chariot race), etc. all add up to make this a must have blue ray release. Charlton Heston will always be one of the greatest actors of his time and many actors today will never have the resume that he does. I bought this blue ray disc just for the collectibility of the special packaging and have not opened it, but I have the special edition box set which is absolutely fantastic. I think the set of discs included here are basically the same, so why pass up this value disc!!!

Great film. I especially loved the Directors and Heston commentary which was available on the disc. Hearing Heston discussing his iconic role was a real treat. Made me watch it through twice. One of the best films in history and makes the top of most "must-see-films" lists. The musical score is also a classic. They just don't make them like this anymore. The religious tone was infused but done in a way to support all levels of inquiry. Great film and a delight in all respects.

Yes, we know Charlton Heston as Moses (Ten Commandments), but THIS is the movie for which he won a Best Actor Oscar for his portrayal of Judah Ben-Hur. This movie won 11 Academy Awards. It's a must-see classic and a must-have for any collector. It is truly one of the best epic movies. And this anniversary set has extras.

So glad that I ordered this DVD! The movie was remastered & better than I remembered. Excellent acting, exceptional photography & lots of action. I highly recommend this DVD!

Despite its running time, this is storytelling at its finest that knows how to entertain; as we follow Judah Ben-Hur's dramatic journey from Jerusalem to Rome and back again, the film just never lets up and immerses you completely. It's hard to imagine anything more cinematic, especially at the time: if ever there was an epic that was meant to be seen on the big screen it's Ben Hur.

ben-hur is one of those epics that must be seen by everyone at least once due to the magnificent scope and the knowledge that not one bit of cgi exists in this film. in a movie that's 55 yrs old it truly shows masters of their respective crafts

My favorite movie of all time. The story is timeless and the acting is flawless with spectacular special effects. Miklos Rozsa's soundtrack is one of the best of all time. If you have never watched this movie you are in for a real treat.

This film should be watched by everyone. I'm assuming a lot of the younger crowds might get bored by it, but anyone that's able to sit through a 3 hour film, mostly dialog driven, then please do yourself a favor and watch it. It's a classic epic for a reason, and will be on the top of most movie lists for a long time.

It is amazing they made a movie this old look superior to most movies made today. The colors pop and everything is crisp. As far as plot goes? It's Ben Hur. One of the greatest films ever made. What else is there to say other than it looks and sounds awesome.

The reason I bought this movie because I never had a chance to see the whole movie till the end since my uncle didn't allow me too, because I was too young to see it. but I did purchased it and enjoy very much to add for my collections

These movies have been in my family for years. I had missed placed them in a move. They are wonderful to watch and very uplifting and spiritual. Thank you for having them available and in good quality.
