An absolutely breathtaking movie, set in the days of the Roman empire that you will not soon forget. I'm looking forward to watching this with my sons in the next few weeks as I'm sure they'll love it too. The acting is amazing as are the special effects, especially the chariot racing.

Some say it is lame, some like it. Even though fictional, good references to Jesus and understanding some of the on-going struggle the Hebrews had over Roman rule and to win freedom.

This is an ambitious updating of the fantastic adventure story first brought to life by Lew Wallace, then made into an award winning classic. While the visuals and production values impress, the character development, performances and overall mood leave the audience wanting more. Just a few tweaks and this could have been a perfect companion to the Charlton Heston version on most collectors shelves. Still a worthy effort that will satisfy most conservatives and squeaky clean enough for all but the youngest viewers.

Great movie, full of exciting action during a very historic time in human history. Great cinematography and great acting. This movie makes a great addition to my collection. Enjoy!

After being spoiled by Be Hur with Charleston Heston, I didn't expect too much, but was pleasantly surprised. The acting was well done as was the battle scenes. The ending was different and uplifting, when it comes to the two friends who fight in the chariot race. Recommended

Ok, I admit it, I never saw the original. I know it got horrible reviews but it is a great story with great acting. Christians shouldn't complain if they aren't willing to support these epic projects. I want a movie the whole family can watch AND ENJOY! Ben Hur is that movie.

This is a great remake type movie that I think all viewers will enjoy. This movie will be a movie that you will watch over and over again. I recommend this move for view.

This pretty much followed the classic Ben-Hur movie. There didn't seem to be the same level of passion however so 4 stars. The race was excellent. Worth buying.

Enjoyed the movie but thought they could have done a bit more to make it even better. The chariot race is still one of the best parts of the movie, old and new!

Same storyline as the original better special and sound effects plus it hit all the main points of faith and forgiveness just like in the New Testament.

Even though the story is not as good as the original, the special effects are pretty awesome. Picture and sound are also nicely done. Worth a viewing.

Though there are some differences between the original & this, it was an enjoyable movie that kept most of the heart of the first.

It was hard to watch this version of Ben Hur and not think of the Charleston Heston version. There were good scenes but it was not as attention grabbing as the first version I saw. The chariot race which is the best scene did not work for me. The movie was ok but no show stealing scenes. The movie looked great but if the same movie was shown in black and white it would definitely fail to get your attention. Worth seeing but if missed nothing would be loss.

I love the original! But I really loved how the story unfolded! I thought, "How could they take a 3 1/2 hour movie and condense it to 2 hours"? They did it and it is a great! Well worth the money and will watch it often!

A condense version of the original with a plausible change of the ending.. For me it was a satisfying story even though critics gave it poor reviews

This remake of Beh Hur is very, very good....lots of action and fine acting and insight....and I liked the fact that no horses died during the filming of the chariot race in this movie...unlike the 1959 Ben Hur film where 50 horses died.

The chariot race is intensive, great actors and special effects. Love the digital copy because you can see the movie wherever you go.

Didn't understand a lot with the bible and such and this helped explain some of the things that have been read and told of the events that led to the cross etc. Better than the original, glad they remade it for another generation to watch.

great MOVIE!!! everyone told me to watch the old ben-hur because the old one was a lot better than this one, but I havent take the chance to look for the old movie, im very please with this purchased becuase of the price of the movie....
