It has many features for a $200 monitor and looks great! 75Hz, HDR, thin bezels, and built-in speakers. I have 2 myself and love them

I spent some time over two weeks, looking for a 24 inch flat monitor for my home use. I do a fair amount of work at home for the office web site with some Photoshop of photographs, spreadsheets/data, amateur radio real time on-screen graphics and radio controlling, and misc other research. The monitor is primarily used with a Mac mini but some of the work is done on a PC. Why did I select the BENQ EW2480 monitor? HDMI is my principal interface. This monitor has 3 x HDMI ports. Much of my audio needs are related to amateur radio communications as in CW (Morse Code) and certain other audio related modes, videos and online sessions that are primarily based in voice, not so much high fidelity music. But most of all, time spent in front of a monitor screams for good color accuracy, sharp detail, and very important - minimal eye fatigue. And one more thing, a VESA mount with a monitor stand to position the monitor exactly where I wanted it to be. Ideally the monitor would also be slim, reasonably light in weight with control buttons and Menu that were easy to get too and simple to use. After looking at many brands and models, I began to compare some of the candidates against the BENQ, EW-2480. While much higher priced monitors offered additional built-in features, my need outweighed the extras that I really did not need. The EW2480 was right on target for function, price, even looks. At least on paper. I ordered this through BEST BUY and it arrived sooner than BB's estimate. This monitor has been in use for a few weeks now (arrived Feb 2024, it is now mid-March). This is the best monitor I have ever used. And I have used many sizes and grades of monitors in my years of work and home uses. Of course there are pros and cons with most everything. For my needs and I suspect most everyone not involved in high speed gaming, this monitor may be your choice too. If 24 inch, flat screen, HDMI, GREAT color rendition, easy on the eye-fatigue, 1080P resolution and surprisingly decent pair of speakers work for you. I wasn't prepared for how small the rim around the monitor was going to be. It's almost like there is no border at all. Very cool! I also studied the BENQ GW2480 as an alternative. It has a bit different port configuration but the 3 x HDMI on the EW fit my needs. I can always use a port adapter if I need something like a DisplayPort conversion. I didn't need the excellent multi-position and variable height stand included with the GW. The EW was also noted for its slightly more powerful audio amplifier & speakers than the amp and speakers in the GW model. Even though ultimate sound quality will always be from a more powerful amp with audio range and minimal noise, and speakers to match; the internal amp and speakers in the EW do very well. I for one am impressed but again, if you really want top end sound, add an external top end amp and speakers to your budget. Then EW also has a higher refresh rate @ 75 cycles (75 hertz for you new kids) versus a still fine 60 cycles on the GW model. Higher refresh rate of the EW will lend itself to higher speed graphic action (less tearing) if that is of any use to you. Note that the EW uses an external power supply module whereas the GW is self contained, and uses a common International-style plug on its power cord. To me, a prefer NOT to have external power supplies or wall wart but, the EW power module and its plug into the back of the EW pleases me in its quality from end to end. The module has a real power cord to plug into an outlet. The operating watts of the EW is similar to all modern monitors which is to say, it is quite minimal to your Utility bill. As an all purpose monitor in this size and price point. I think its cost/benefit ration is unmatched. I think you can only be disappointed if you need truly need to spend more, to get more. If you want or must spend less as I had to with my last monitor purchase, you will get less. I should add that ordering this BENQ monitor and the MOUNT-IT single monitor articulating desk stand process is simple and fast. Order status information is very good. And arrival of both items from different sources came two days earlier than the estimated time. BENQ's web site information is very good. Using this monitor is intuitive but the provided documentation is very good too!
