Berserk is one of my all time favorites, so I may be biased...but the third arc is just glorious. Amazing voice acting, great detail in the illustration, and what a twisted story. Love it!

The third in the Berserk reboot trilogy, it cut out so much of the pointless and confusing fill flashbacks that the anime had. Definitely check these movies out.

While I'm not the biggest fan of the CGI use in the movie, the story itself is amazing, not to mention fans of the manga or original anime get some extra content with Knight of Skeleton's involvement in the Carnival.

The 3rd act actually continues where the Berserk anime series left off. The animation is great and I can't wait for other installments.

I was happy Best Buy carried this. I really miss when they used to have a huge anime section with popular titles. Now it's been reduced and it no where near it's former glory. Still, I was glad this was there.

Final chapter in the Berserk movies

Genre: Action, Mature, Supernatural, Gore
Length: 107 minutes
"The horrifying conclusion to the Golden Age unfolds in a magnificently violent nightmare, signifying the birth of a new era. It's been a year since Griffith's imprisonment by the Kingdom of Midland. Once praised as the saviors of Midland, the Band of the Hawk has been on the run and is on the brink of breaking apart. Much to everyone's surprise, Guts returns to the Hawks, and the earch for Griffith begins!"
Two warnings here: One, if you haven't seen the first two movies in the series, then read this at your own risk. I'll try to minimize any spoilers, but you should watch "The Egg of the King" first and then "The Battle for Doldrey". Second, this title is absolutely not for children. Very explicit s.e.x.ual and violent content.
Just like with the other Berserk movies, it's hard to find a place to begin with this one. "The Advent" starts off a year after the end of "The Battle for Doldrey" with the remaining members of the Band of the Hawk trying to find and rescue Griffith. Casca is leading the group until Guts makes a last minute entrance to save her from a shadowy assassin. However, they're still being pursued by the Midland forces and mercanaries out to kill them for treason. They find Griffith in the darkest depths of an underground prison and aren't prepared for what they see inside his cell. Upon escaping, Griffith has to decide if he wants to fulfill his dream or if he will stay with his comrades.
"The Advent" continues with everything that we've seen from the first two movies which includes tons of action, loads of gore, more supernatural developments, and a lot more s.e.x. Any complaints I had early on about awkward CG animation are gone as it was done great in the last film and even better in this one. Every scene is meticulously done and looks amazing. The level of gore has taken another notch up especially towards the end when it turns into a rain of blood. Gods, demons, and angels make their appearance here including the 2nd largest naked woman in anime, I believe *hard for anyone to beat the size of Rei Ayanami from the End of Evangellion*! The s.e.x.ual aspect is jumped up as well with two major scenes of which one isn't so pleasant.
The extras for this one are great as well. Viz usually is pretty bad about extras, but I give them kudos here. First off, you've got an 8 minute interview with the film's producer which talks about challenges adapting this from the manga, scenes that had to be cut from final production, and tackling the extreme violence and adult aspects of this series. Then you've got 40 minutes of outtakes from the 2nd and 3rd movies. They were really fun to watch and listen to.
Overall, I loved this movie and the entire series. If you don't like seeing loads of people getting sliced in half, then this isn't your cup of tea. There are a few things, such as the pacing, that could be better, but such high production values easily outweigh any deficencies in my mind. A must-have title in my book!
