This cord looks way more substantial than typical lamp cord and reassures you that it ought to be able to handle just about any load that your electronics could draw. I understand that a 16 AWG wire like this one is rated for 13 amps. It is big and relatively thick. When you look for extension cords, you are usually relegated to cords that look just like the cords that run to your table lamps. This grounded cord makes the typical offering look, shall we say, lacking. I placed this cord into service feeling that it is probably going to last my lifetime, and I truly mean that. I have it placed in a console which houses my UPS, and I use this cord as an extension from the mains to my UPS. Multiple devices are attached to that UPS: My television, my cable modem, several different kinds of streaming devices, two networked TV tuners, a computer, and a Blu-Ray/DVD player. I have no doubt that this extension will be able to handle the current draw from those devices with it's hands tied behind its back! It is durable and reassuring and I highly recommend it.

This 6' indoor/outdoor extension cord is a fantastic general use extension cord that is backed by Best Buy and a 1 year warranty. The Specs: This cord is rated for 13A, 125V, and 1625W - which will handle most home application indoor and outdoor. The gauge is 16AWG and it is grounded (3-prong). My Use Case: Personally, I needed an extension cord for my robot mower's charging station in my back yard. I have tons of ugly orange outdoor extension cords that I use around my yard but I needed something more discrete and more of a "purpose built" size so I didn't have to worry about hiding 20' of extra cord. The size was ideal for my application and the black is subtle and blends better with its surroundings. Would a Recommend? Absolutely. Do note that even though it is advertised for outdoor use, the warning on the cable itself does state to keep it away from water and not to use it when wet. For my application, I won't have to worry because it will be out of the weather where it is located but do keep these warnings in mind if you choose to use it outdoors.

The 6’ extension cord from Best Buy essentials is a great product that delivers on everything advertised. The product is very straight forward. The extension cord comes wrapped in a circle, with the package wrapped around it. It’s easy to open and even easier to use. The extension cord is glossy black, with hard rubber male and female plugs on each end. The glossy black gives it a nice appeal and is a much-welcomed change from the neon orange cords I previously owned. The extension cord is actually a little longer than 6’ which is great because it gives me a little extra length to reach my outlets. The Extension cord is rated for both indoor and outdoor use. It has 3 prongs and is grounded for electrical safety. The cord has a tight grip when plugging other cords into it, making the connection snug and keeps it from falling out. This extension cord works great for giving that extra length needed when the power outlet is just out of range. Overall, the Best Buy essentials 6’ extension cord is a perfect choice for anyone looking for good quality and affordable extension cord, and I highly recommend it.

For the price, this extension cord does exactly what I need it to do. I am using it to power a pretty hefty floor fan. It matches the gauge and color of the fan and doesn't get warm. Not really sure what else to say. If you need a single plug extension cord, it works.

This cord can handle up to 1625 watts and 13 amps, as stated on the cord itself. Documentation here shows 15 amp limitation for some reason. It is basically for small indoor appliances like lamps, clocks, outdoor appliances like power tools: saws, air compressors, etc. or maybe running Christmas lights. Personally, I am using this to extend my laptop cord the few feet it needs to reach the outlet and it works perfectly for that. I do prefer to have this dedicated cord for something that is so valuable to me. This is considered to be a light-duty cord that can be used both indoors and out. It carries a 1 year limited warranty and is tested and UL Certified (by UL Solutions, previously Underwriter's Laboratory) to meet certain safety standards. This extention cord is the perfect size for when you need a little extra reach, but don't need a full on 25 foot cord. Heavy duty enough for using outside or in a detached garage, as well as indoors. It ran my 1500 watt electric heater without the cord getting hot or melting. Be sure to check your heater owners manual and specifications as your heater may not be recommended to be plugged into an extension cord. This was also the perfect length cable to run to my window air conditioning unit. While I Only used it a couple of minutes due to it still being winter, the function test went smoothly. Like all cables, it does get a bit stiff when cold. However, this one was near rigid when used outside in the recent snowy weather we had in the Midwest. While not a deal breaker for me, potential buyers should be aware that it may not flex around corners very well when it's below freezing outside. Using a continuity tester I verified the ground plug was working as it should, no beaks in continuity. Would recommend for any tools or appliances you have that need a heavier than normal short length extension cord.

The cord is flexible, but nice and thick, so it won't be subject to breaking or cracking if bent while in use. I have an old refrigerator that I have moved to my garage. However, in order to sit it close enough to the power outlet, it made it more difficult to park my car in the garage. With this new 6' Extension Power Cord, I was able to move the refrigerator to a corner, further away from the power outlet, giving me more room to park.
