It was immediately recognized by my computer and provided a fast & stable connection. That being said, I ended up returning the item as it did not work as I expected for my use case. I purchased this adapter to enable an ethernet connection for my laptop that does not have an ethernet port so that I can enjoy a stable wireless PCVR experience with the Meta Quest 2. I was unable to connect to Airlink, and Virtual Desktop kept on disconnecting and reconnecting. After some researching, I discovered that enabling the mobile hotspot feature on my laptop when it has a 5 GHz wi-fi connection provides a surprisingly stable wireless PCVR experience with my Quest 2. To summarize, this product does what it says it does and does it well for the most part. It works for general use, but if you would like to use this for wireless PCVR like me, then I suggest trying the computer mobile hotspot solution that worked for me or perhaps a different USB-C to Ethernt Adapter brand.
