I was in need for a new laptop and didn't have time to wait for a sale. The sales person (who was very helpful), suggested I get the Plus membership as the laptop was likely to go on sale for back to school. He stated I would get a notification in the app, and would get a link or process to get the price difference refunded.
A week or so later I happen to be in my local best buy, and talking to a different clerk, who mentioned to make sure notifications was turned on. I turned it on, and the daily notices for stuff I don't care about is an annoyance....
Then over Memorial day weekend, I happened to be looking at sales in the app, and say the laptop I had purchased on sale. I had received no notice and could not find a way to get my price difference refunded in the App. Checked the website, again couldn't find a way.
I went into the store, and the cashier confirmed I should be getting a price difference refund, but she couldn't get the system to process it. After she spoke to a manager she had to process a return of the original and then sell it to me at the lower price.
I am happy I had the account, but the Best Buy app is annoying and junk.
I am happy to have gotten around $400 back, and having the Plus membership did extend the return window long enough to get the price match.

Overall not a bad plan, if you purchase a lot of tech through Best Buy. Personally Best buy is where I always look and check 1st, the fact I have close by helps too, but honestly the exclusive deals and savings that go with membership make it well worth the $50, imho.
Only thing, My membership got tacked onto a purchase I had made by a floor Rep, then forgotten all about (or overlooked or unaware during purchase tbh, still not sure which, probably both) and when it auto renewed a year later at exactly 12a 0 dark 0 from Denver Colorado, my bank immediately flagged it as unauthorized, all while I slept. Not recognizing it before coffee I confirmed the rejection, and the transaction became completely mucked up..So, I let it rest for awhile, b
and never renewed even after finally realizing what it was, dug through my history and confirmed that I guess I did pay for it last year

Again, The plan itself is probably worth it you shop here a lot, but they should really send out reminders, bells and whistles, etc well in advance and change the auto-renew from 1 sec past midnight, as it comes off as trying to "slip one by" both the customer and obv the bank, too. I think in the end I didn't like the way it went down, the lack of transparency, and the fact it was apparently a sales comiss "tag-on" tb with. If they changed these practices, I'd probably sign back up and recommend more, but tbh, it left w a weird a taste, so just haven't.. I may reconsider if they offered again and posted frequent transparent reminders and alerts to our account and esp emails that I still get flooded with.. Subscriptions these days seem to count on ppl not exactly knowing they have subscriptions. Can you imagine making money creating simple apps off the fact ppl can't even keep track of their own subs and memberships bc we're so inundated?! The transparent Co's get my cont'd business. The "slip one by" Co's do not. Imo, a personal rule that wld serve others well too, and remind Co's integrity still matters if you want our business..
Again, I'd still "highly recommend" the My Best Buy Membership to techy friends & fam, especially protections that come with it..but then immediately warn them about the auto-renew process.

Was good, and I think I got enough discounts to just break even, and that's it. I don't need it anymore, though.
If I bought TVs and was the father of a family and needed to buy tech and chose best buy and amazon as my primaries, I think I would've gotten way more value from it.
My experience was 3 stars. For the people that shop here often and look for sales, it might be 5 stars. I put 4 stars as a middle ground.

When I went to buy my newest Apple Watch in November, I was skeptical at first to purchase this membership. When one of the store representatives told me that Best Buy does a holiday price match where I could call if the price of my product was lower and get the money refunded to me for the difference I was immediately sold. Not only did this product actually deliver as the sales associate said, but it was so easy to do. I was able to text the Best Buy representative and get everything taken care of that way. I even used my Best Buy credit card and was able to get the difference in the prices refunded right to my Best Buy credit card and off the total without affecting the promotional rate definitely worth the purchase for that alone.

The salesman encouraged me to purchase this membership just in case they put their remaining iMacs on sale after I walked out. Unfortunately that didn't happen. But as it turned out, I had to return two of the accessories I had also purchased and received back every cent I had spent. (I didn't need the new Magic Mouse, there was one already in the box.) Perhaps the easy refund would have happened anyway, dunno.

I was pleased with my purchase. James and Mickey, who delivered my refrigerator, were so helpful and thorough. They were early and called to let me know they were on their way.
They also made sure that the refrigerator did not get scratched. James informed me how long it would take to get cold.
I am very pleased that these two guys helped me. I have had other experiences where the delivery people did not know how to put my items together, and there was a language barrier that prevented me from explaining what was wrong.

I was originally skeptical about purchasing the My Best Buy Plus membership. I thought that it was just another money-making venture for Best Buy and had no real value. Boy, was I ever wrong. A couple of weeks after I purchased this membership, I was in the store to buy a new Blu-Ray player. To my surprise, the clerk informed me that the price on a couple of items that I had previously purchased had been reduced and that I now had a refund of the difference available. After calculating the difference my refund came to almost $300.00. Needless to say, that refund more than paid for the cost of the Best Buy Plus membership.

Whenever I am asked to pay to get savings I have to stop and look carefully at what I'm being offered. Most of the time I'm someplace I'll never come back to and I want the discount on my one purchase, most likely because I will never return to that store. But this is Best Buy, and let's face it, I'm going to end up dropping money here more often than I probably should.
For 50 dollars a year, the Best Buy Plus membership is not a bad deal. It was paid for out of my first purchase of a MacBook where I saved 50 dollars because of the membership (so it was "free").
So now for the year, I get access to certain items with an extra discount which is nice. But there is more!!! Once I looked over the dashboard (yes, you get your own dashboard) there are a few more perks that come with the membership:
1. There is an assortment of free trials for decent amounts of time that you can dip into.
2. You get 60 days instead of 30 days to return things, so try and buy to your heart's content (you break it you buy it)
3. I'm impatient when it comes to shipping. If I'm laying to some good money I want my product immediately. But we all know everything isn't in stock, so two-day free shipping is a perk, not bad, and on part with Amazon Prime.
4. There is also a rewards point thing that you get discounts and rewards depending on how much you spend, and that brings us to the bad part.
Now the only thing that I don't like about the membership (and it probably isn't even their fault, I'm sure it is some arrangement with Apple) is that those points that you get, well, you don't get them on Apple products (and where does most my money go?) so for all the money I spend on Apple Products they don't reward me for the future.
Beyond that, I have nothing bad to say, especially since it was at no additional cost in my case. Oh, and don't forget, for like 130 dollars more you can get the tech support and warranty package which does include Apple Care+ so that looks like a great value also.

It is ok, but staff is not well informed about it, just to sell it they provide some information.
We got a ‘welcome gift’ with plus membership related to a canvas bag printed by Shutterfly, I was very exited to get it, it was impossible , never got the email with code, after several attempts following instructions. So, we went ahead to store at the Fountains -like it says to do so- and asked for help… NON of staff members new anything about membership plus at all, easily they wrote me a phone number to deal with, I though ‘NO Thank You, I will rather buy a canvas bag on my own without this hassle, so I dropped the idea of the free canvas bag, it was disappointing, I think there’s nothing good to offer something to others and not honor the word. Better not to offer anything. I just hope we don’t get to need one of the ‘help’ payed in the membership for something really important.

I had this membership for a year and bought many things with it, but most of the sales were not exclusive to the membership and I did not save that much money because of it. I was able to price adjust and return items within an extended period of 60 days which did help, but this period should be extended to 6 months with the membership. I did get $10 credit once every two months to spend with the membership. One instance I did not like was when Best Buy sales representatives were lying to customers, claiming that if they purchased or already had the Best Buy plus membership, they would get early access to pre order nvidia 50 series graphics cards. This did not happen and many people were upset with this and refunded their memberships.

I purchased my Plus membership a couple days prior to making a major appliance purchase at the suggestion of the representative that helped me later make my purchase.
Of the washer and dryer combo set, the washer was defective, despite running it through the Quick Cycle by the Geek Squad installation crew. Called to arrange a replacement and was told that my purchase was not made as a Plus Member. The computer had a bogus account w an email that I never had. Tried to straighten the issue out w the representative who became belligerent and rude informing me I was “NOT A PLUS MEMBER”! I wasted over an hour and half waiting for that representative to finally take my call and then get into an argument over my membership. I was verbally providing from the email I received from best buy confirming my membership! It took 3 days w two more calls to Best Buy, to finally get this mess straightened out!!! Very Angry and annoyed that it took several hours on the phone w Best Buy. In the end, everything turned out okay and the defective washer was replaced. Plus Membership is probably worth the cost but there was absolutely no excuse for Best Buy to have such a major account computer screw up since I’ve had my account for over 15 years! My time is money and I deserve compensation for this inexcusable situation!
