Nothing like the original Betty Boops
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.After years of waiting for the fantastical old Betty Boop cartoons to appear in decent form, they are here at last and freshly mastered in great condition. But as has been noted elsewhere, they have been incorrectly mastered as to the aspect ratio. It's not very noticeable, since these are outlandish cartoons and and they are surreal enough already, but at times I occasionally felt there was something squashed about the image. Also, there are no extras on the disc and the timing is a bit short considering the price. Oh well, it's the best we're likely to have for a long time, but one hopes that future releases in this series will at least have correct aspect ratios. Anyway, Betty Boop's universe is filled with inanimate objects that sprout legs and arms and burst into song, and these cartoons are truly exceptional!
