I sat on this game for almost two weeks before I decided to open it. At one point I even considered taking it back to get a refund. I just wasn't to happy about the review scores it was getting, and I hesitated on it. I'm so glad I decided to jump in and find out for myself. I think the graphics are amazing. I think the sound is great. I loved the score. I enjoyed the story. There really isn't much I can complain about, other than the game play being to close to "Heavy Rains." Its not really a negative per say, but its something I would have hoped for a little more innovation. While there are some changes, and the game play seems smoother than Heavy Rains, I still wish for a little bit more action in the "push buttons" area. That being said, there were times I was emotionally moved. It was something that caught me off guard, and something I didn't expect. Definitely worth its purchase price.... well at least to me.

I really did love this game. Ellen Page and Willem Defoe do a fantastic job at voice acting their characters. This is a beautiful game with a story that is both engaging and immersive. Player controls may take some time getting used to if you have never played a quanticdream game before but as a Heavy Rain veteran, I felt right at home. Combat sequences take some time to get used to but after a few stumbles I was able to go through the rest with ease. If you want a deep story, this is a good game for you. Just don't go in looking for a action packed third person.

I really liked this game. The story was engaging and the characters were well thought out and felt real. Graphics were great, especially how they aged Ellen Page and the rest of the actors. Gameplay however felt a little too simple at times. It was more of a choose your own adventure than a video game. Time skips started to get annoying, would have liked to have seen an option to play this linearly rather than jumping around. Overall, a good game that is engaging from begginning to end.

This game is very good. It brings out the best in Ellen Page and the graphics on the PS3. The game doesn't have much action, its more about telling a great story and being involved like you are the main character. I recommend it to people who want a good story.

If you're a fan of Heavy Rain, this one is an excellent title as well. Great story, great graphics. Decent replay value, as you can go back and make different choices along the way.

This game is spiritual successor to Heavy Rain. Basically, this is an interactive movie. Reflexes don't seem to matter much. Sometimes you can make choices for the main characters, but it doesn't seem to matter much. The voice acting is good. Graphics are good, but occasionally freezes.

The best way to sum up Beyond is to call it an interactive movie. Given this description it would be 5 stars, but the fact of the matter is that it is a game, and in that respect it's gameplay and controls leave little room for exploration. It is very linear... Now that said, the graphics blew me away and the story itself is enough to carry you along, even if it feels like you don't have that much freedom. There is a little customization insofar as you may uncover different parts of the story based on your choices (though as far as I can tell, you can't deviate from the plot line). Certainly worth the time if you like a good story and you find it for <$20 (essentially the price of a movie).

If you grew up playing Indigo Prophecy, or the more recent Heavy Rain, you may very well enjoy this game. Most of the actions are done by moving the joysticks to match the onscreen context. As for the story, it is very compelling, albeit a mixed bunch. It is a very emotionally charged game sprinkled with adult themes. The games hop around in different times and ages of the main protagonist Jodie. The length of the game is pretty fair, about 10 hours, average replay value.

Good game that doesnt live up to potential. Great voice acting and story. a little bit to linear though

First off, beautiful graphics and great voice-acting. However, while the story was very interesting, this felt more like an interactive movie than a game. Many of the events, outcomes, and choices felt like you were forced into them without any freewill. If this had been made as a movie I would definitely buy it on BD, but as a game, it's good, but suffers from being too much of a railroad.

If you are like me and you loved playing Heavy Rain, you owe it to yourself to pick this one up. I got it as a Best Buy deal of the day and it was completely worth the discounted price. Intriguing story and excellent voice over work and graphics combine to give you a very satisfying overall experience.

I am a huge RPG gamer so what I notice in a game the casual gamer may not notice. The graphics are so realistic that at times it feels more like I am watching a movie rather than playing a game. The storyline is amazing although you get it in mixed up seemingly random events. This is not a linear game by any means. The controls are very easy and suitable for those who are just starting to play games.

A great game, and more so, an experience. The gameplay is unique, and takes some time to get into. The story, very unique and compelling. Some portions seem more of a movie than a game. I would've given this 5 stars, but the story seems to digress on multiple instances.

So I bought this game because it was 10 bucks ($8 with Gamers club unlocked). I had heard decent reviews so I took a shot. Its not my type of game but I will say its a very good game. Graphics and story are amazing. For the right price, this game is worth checking out if you havent played it yet.

This game is a bit on the creepy side if you focus on the "entity" but if you just play the game you will find that it is more than a video game per say. This game unfolds like a drama, and a suspense film in one! Your emotions get involved and you feel for Jodie your choices affect the direction of the game and you want to see how it ends and when it does your disappointed b/c you want the story line, emotion, and connection to continue! I think this game will attract a new group to gaming if they will just give it a try. It kind of reminds me of the old story books as a kid where if you choose to do this turn to page 45 and if you choose to do this turn to page 118. You at least feel like you have input in Jodie's story and let me tell you it is an amazing one to live through and enjoy! This will be one you will pay over and over to experience different choices. I will say that it does have some foul language and some intense scenes so I would not want to play this around young children. That's my two cents! Hope it helps!

Solid game. Entertaining and good for replay. Lots of story and interesting twists.

Beyond: Two Souls has a great story comparable or surpassing Hollywood films. Gameplay is also an interactive experience. Both the story and gameplay let you get immersed into the game. Voice acting by Ellen Page and Willem Dafoe are excellent as well.

I enjoyed the solid story line as well as the personable characters. Lots to explore and do!

Once you realize that this not your typical game, you'll love this game. The graphics and storyline are exceptional!! If you've enjoyed past Quantic Dreams games, you'll love this one, too!
