Diane Birch: A Newcomer Worth Meeting

Diane Birch brings a soulful, bluesy element to the music genre that is rarely seen in someone so young. Her album is full of gospel undertones and rock/pop rhythms that are sure to please fans of Adele, Norah Jones, and Stevie Nicks. The pleasing melodies are enhanced by her rich, raspy voice and it all combines to create some pretty good music.

From the moment I started listening to Ms. Birch, the CD hasn't left the drive. I haven't been this crazy about an artist since Norah Jones came out. I find her voice groovy and relaxing throughout the day and especially in the summer evenings now while we grill out. She is certainly promising and I would recommend her to anyone.

Diane Birch's music reminds me of the 70's (which is my favorite music era), with a folksy, bluesy, and sometimes gospel feel that brings to mind such artists as Carol King, Carly Simon, and Nora Jones, but with a unique sound all her own. This CD full of fun, uplifting, and relaxing music that I enjoyed very much.

A little bit of everything

I agree Diane Birch does have a bit of Norah Jones in her voice along with a bit of country and gospel. The music is great to play in the background while having company over or for a relaxing night at home in the bath tub. I will listen to this CD over and over, and I can't wait to see what's next for Diane.

Maybe this will be cliched by the time I write, but Diane's "Bible Belt" is a mixture of Norah Jones, Patsy Cline and a little Ella Fitzgerald thrown in. The melodies are haunting, the tunes are timeless, and the sentiments are universal: heartache, loss, and the determination to get back up and keep plugging on.
This one will definitely make my Favorites Playlist!

Groove out to Diane Birch's Bible Belt

If one were to mix Carly Simon, Norah Jones, with some crisp lyrics and undertones of bluesy notes you'd get Diane Birch. I love Bible Belt, particiularly "Fools" and "Rewind" - Diane's talent is deep, layered and relaxes you, like a complex chardonnay. My tween daughter kept playing track #3 "Fools" over and over - looks like Diane appeals to more than 40ish women!

When I opened this album I was not sure what to expect. I can honestly say I am a huge fan now! I love the soulful music and her voice. All of the songs are catchy and I find myself singing them throughout the day...without the music even on! LOL It is easy listening and very peaceful music. A wonderful way to start, I hope there are many more CD's to come!

Diane Birch mixes soul, jazz, gospel, and a touch of new in this album. I was not familiar with her work before, but I am now a fan.. Brings back the 60's, some Aretha, and a lot of fresh takes on old material.. I would recommend this to anyone who enjoys a good listen...

I've never heard of Diane Birch until getting this cd. While the first track, Fire Escape, seemed slightly repetitive to me, the songs did get better as the cd went on. I really enjoyed Choo Choo and Photograph, one quite upbeat and the other really soulful and heartfelt.

DIANE BIRCH KNOWS HOW TO SING THE BLUES SO MUCH IT TRANSPORTS YOU TO NEW ORLEANS WITH HER SITTING ON THE EDGE OF THE STAGE, JUST SINGING THE BLUES. YOU CAN HEAR HEAR HER EMOTIONS AS SHE CROONS. THIS CD, HER FIRST IS WORTH YOUR MONEY. AS FAR AS ANY PROBLEMS WITH IT, I DON'T SEE OR HEAR ANY. I COULD JUST KEEP LISTENING TO HER AGAIN AND AGAIN.

There are a few songs on this album that immediately made me think of Stevie Nicks and a few other that sound similar to Carly Simon. If you're a fan of Joss Stone, Joni Mitchell or the other two artists mentioned above then I think you'll like this album.

I really enjoyed every song on this cd. My husband's favorites were Ariel and Forgiveness. I have listened to this cd several times and it would be the first one in my ipod on vacation or in my car for that long drive with the windows down.

For a debut album, Diane Birch did a good job... She wrote all the music her self. A couple of my favorite songs were "Photograph" and "Fools". Diane sounds a lot like some of our old favorites such as Linda Ronstadt and Stevie Nicks.

Recently, I discovered Diane Birch via her new CD Bible Belt. I found her style to be a mix of Carly Simon/Carole King/Norah Jones. She has very mellow and relaxing sound. It's a great CD to pop in when you come home from work and drink a glass of wine. I'm glad it is in my collection.

I have never heard of her. I thought she sounded like Stevie Nicks. She doesn't need a back up singer she can do it on her own. The music is easy listening with a bluesy tempo. I would love to hear more of her music.
