I have a Bic America 5.0 system, with a Polk sub. For the money, heck, for anything under $100, considering the size, you won't beat this center. I purchased an Energy RC Micro system last week, and promptly returned it. Why? The weak center channel speaker. Vocals sounded small, and that's a pet peeve of mine. That's what makes this little guy stand out. Handles vocals as well as some full-sized brands. Deep male voices, like Christopher Lee's in 'Lord of the Rings', sound the way they are supposed to. Only occasionally do I hear it strain, and that's usually due to the way the vocals were recorded from the source, not necessarily the speaker's fault. When I upgrade to a bigger center -with wife approval...still working on her- it will probably be within the Bic America family. You can't beat it for value. Very well-made, solid, as well. For $40, you simply can't go wrong Try it out. I think you'll be pleasantly surprised.

For just a center channel speaker no one should expect insane sound. There is still plenty of range in this speaker. Clear sound all around. Good weight so quality magnets.

I bought this for a secondary system, and I am very pleased with the sound I am getting for $40. I even tried this on my "good" system, and it compared very favorably to a speaker that cost 4X as much (ouch). Heavy magnets. Perfect center speaker for space limited installations. Sounded excellent with both movies and music. Doesn't have that "honky" sound of other value-oriented center speakers

I have a Denon receiver, Klipsch mains, Bookshelf side Polks and an Onkyo Sub. This Center channel doesn't cut it for me. I've had to up the volume on this center channel thru the receiver bc during TV shows or movies, the verbal audio was so low, I could not hear the actors speaking. I should not have gone cheap on a center channel. Going to shop for a replacement. And, yes, the Denon receiver does have an Omnidirectional mic for setup, but voices were too low to hear from this speaker.
