I grew watching this cult classic so I had to have it in my collection. The quality is spot on from visuals to sound, only wish a digital copy was available but I'm happy with this!

Kurt Russell as the best bumbling idiot sidekick ever that never has a clue what's going on around him. Also the new slipcase is perfect!! Great addition to any 80's lovin' fan.

still a classic to watch even though its old now, action packed

My shopping experience at BestBuy was very pleasant... I received my order quicker than the estimated delivery time... This movie was clear in standard dvd but the Blu-Ray version is too real to be true.... I would not believe this movie was released in 1985 or 1986 if I didn't see it back then due to the crisp & clear video contained in this Blu-Ray of Big Trouble in Little CHina... Everything from the audio & video were enchanced to crystal clear clarity... The comparsion scenario is like a Jimi Hendrix song on an 8-track or original cassette tape versus remastered on a enhanced Cd... I highly recommend this movie on Blu-Ray from BestBuy..

A fantasy/comedie/horror that touches many bases. The story pulls you in. The characters keep you. It is a rip-roaring movie that keeps you entertained

A fantastic cult classic. The acting is over the top and the effects are cheesy but it has an endearing cast and is one of my favorite guilty pleasures.

I absolutely loved this movie as a kid of the 80's and now that it's in stellar HD quality with DTS sound, I am a kid all over again! Fun popcorn flick!

I used to love this movie when I was a kid, now that I can see it in blu ray it brings back all those memories, cool action and super funny.

The Critics shredded and diced this movie so I really went to the theatre expecting to see one sick puppy. Instead, I was delighted and I continue to be delighted every time I watch this marvelous movies. John Carpenter created an original howl of a time, with tongue firm planted through the cheek and simply went wild with fun and throw away lines, that will keep you coming back again and again. The Critics just did not get the JOKE!! Sigh...fortunately, the public did not agree. A great cast Kurt Russell, Kim Cattrall, Dennis Dun, Kate Burton (Richard's Daughter), Victor Wong and James Hong take several wrong turns and end up in a war - kung fu style - kidnappings and all sorts "some very unreasonable things". Originally the manuscript for the second Buckaroo Banzai movie, Big Trouble hits bulls eye where BB just missed. It's over kill to the max, but such a great way to go as Jack Burton - Russell doing a BAD John Wayne Imitation - runs headlong into the magick underbelly of Chinatown. One critic put down Russell's performance as "was so poor, it was like he was doing a poor John Wayne imitation" WELL, DUH???? Earth to LM!! Russell is taking Dennis Dun to pick up his bride to be, but she is mistakenly snatched. It's up to Russell, Dun, Wong and crew to try and get her back. Instead, they lose Kim Cattral to Hong as well as Burton's Peterbuilt "the Porkchop Express", so old Jack has to get mean. If you don't want to laugh so hard your ribs hurt, you don't enjoy parodies, you don't enjoy bad John Wayne imitations...fine give it a pass. But everyone else wanting a great time, this is one you should not miss!

Having grown up in the '80s myself, I may be a bit biased, but they just don't make movies like this anymore. 80's movies, and the 80s in general can be cheesy, but balancing the right amount of that with some witty dialogue and outlandish characters made for a hell of a movie. Kurt Russell is great as 'ol Jack Burton, who has been eloquently described as the sidekick who doesn't know he's a sidekick. On a trip to Chinatown to collect the domino winnings he's owed, he and his compatriot Wang, are beset by the three storm lords, working for the evil immortal sorcerer Lo Pan as they kidnap Wang's fiancé in an effort to break an ancient curse binding their master. You just don't get movie plots like this anymore. Watching Jack Burton, with all his bravado be largely ineffective against his sorcerous adversaries is hilarious. This John Carpenter film, takes the cheesy, the outlandish, and tempers it with enough snappy dialogue, action, and some over the top stereotypes, to make a wildly entertaining movie. The transfer on this Blu-ray is particularly good for an older film. There is a healthy amount of grain in the transfer, but the overall detail is still quite excellent. On the audio side, this transfer doesn't employ the surrounds much at all, and is a little light in the bass department. I think the soundstage could use a bit of remixing for the modern home theater. It isn't bad, but it could have been better. So that's it, for a price of $5 you can't really go wrong here. Also, the audio commentary is great, especially if you are already a fan of the film.

This film is a masterpiece. It should be required viewing for our public school system. I give it 6 stars because 5 isn’t enough

Love the blue ray transfer and anything that john carpenter touches. Great popcorn flick and underrated Kurt Russell movie.

Loved this movie so it is a gift for my daughter. We have watched it together. It is funny and fast paced.

Kurt Russell had many great movies throughout his career and this is no exception. Pure escapism!! I Recommend.

Can't be defined by a single genre. This one has action, comedy, martial arts, and fantasy all at the same time.
