Not a bad mob movie. Could have been better but I enjoyed it!

Set during prohibition Billy Bathgate is looking for his ticket out of the poverty he grew up in. He becomes an associate of the Dutch Schultz game. Things are caving around the mobster. Schultz lashing out acting like a bull in the china shop approach to things. Fearing he's being betrayed by his right hand Schultz has the man and his date abducted. Witnessing the murder of her date as a measure of self preservation she agrees to become Dutch's girl until she can figure out a way to escape. The tax evasion trial Schultz is facing has a change of venue into upstate New York. So Billy is Schultz's wade and Nicole Kidman becomes his "tutor". Billy promises her date he'll "protect her" and in the course of things they have an affair despite the prospect of lethal repercussion if Schultz finds out about it. The hit on the Dutchman was a realistic enactment.

Good movie at a reasonable price. Easy to locate within store arrangement. Cashier was kind and friendly. Store was neat and clean. Salespersons were readily available to assist with my needs if needed.
