This adapter is great, it tucks away inside of the dock, doesn't obstruct the airflow detrimentally, and gives me the best possible internet connection for my Switch. Much better than the old Wii ethernet adapter I was using, which was both not gigabit, and hung outside of the dock like an ugly white tail. Quite an elegant solution.

I didn’t expect it to be as useful as ended up being but is a very helpful link up for any Ethernet and is USB 3.0 to boot

I would like to say im not happy i had to buy this product because the dock provided should have one built in. Just sayin. But anyway. Tested at 5mbps on wireless, tested at 18mbps with the ethernet connection. I know despite this test games like smash online still have a lot of lag. But at least im ensured my personal connection is fast and solid. At least it helps when i purchase and download digital media on my switch. Great product and nice price

My sons WiFi card fried in his laptop while at college. We were told it couldn’t be fixed in house and needed to be sent out. This could take up to two weeks we were told. Not being able to be without his computer this was a great temporary fix until college let out for the summer. Thank you geek squad for the recommendation. My son said it was a life saver.

The ethernet port on one of our computers was damaged when the house was hit by lightning. The price of this gigabit unit can't be beat when compared to 'dedicated PC USB ethernet adapters'. This unit was plug and play on a Windows 10 PC. It's working well after a month of use.

super fast ethernet port that should have been incorporated in the original dock. Works as advertised and definitely helps with connection while playing smash or other online games

It’s pretty bulky, but it hides within the switch dock. My Ethernet cable has a large Jack, so it doesn’t fully close, however it works and provides wired communication to your switch.

Getting it set up is really easy. It's plug-and-play so you don't have to do anything special. The reason I only gave it 3 stars is because it's not any faster than just connecting to WiFi. I pay for 150mbps from Comcast, but on the Switch I only get about 35-40mbps on the 5GHz connection (WiFi). With this adapter, I only got 36mbps. So they're essentially the same. As for latency, I can't accurately say. Some people claim there is less latency, which may be true, or it may just be the placebo effect. The Switch doesn't tell you how much latency there is in the internet test, only the download and upload speeds. You could test it out with a game like Rocket League that actually shows latency on the scoreboard, but I don't have Rocket League on Switch. So in my opinion, it's decent. If you have a crappy router or don't want to have to set up WiFi, I'd say go for it. It's not very expensive, and you may get better results. I just didn't see any difference with my WiFi.

Found this by chance. It was on clearance and it works perfectly. No set up needed. Just plug into one of the usb ports on the dock.

Picked this up so I can play smash ultimate online and it works so much better than wifi.
