If you are looking for a game that has a great story with a fun game play and a challenge level that is not aggravating, the this is the game for you. I played the game on hard mode and I had somewhat of a challenge and I do not play first person shooters often. The story had me hooked to the point where one night I just kept playing and then realized it was 1:00am. Last time I looked at the clock it was 10:00pm and I said I just want to play a little more. The combats are fun, the puzzles are interesting. Some different concepts brought in to play with the gear and the sky hook which allows you to travel along rails and jump to hard to reach areas. If you want to complete the entire game then you need to be very observant. I would go back through the area when I found out to continue I had to leave and i would find things I missed that were usually extremely helpful. Lets face it, not every game is perfect. I would have preferred that this game gave me the option to save on my own and create my own save file. Whenever I would want to go back through an area the autosave would not happen and I would have to either give up on searching or quit and lose my progress from the last save point. However, this happened very rarely and was more of an inconvenience because I play before work and have a set time I have to quit. The game was also very short but I was expecting it and a short game is worth it's weight in gold if it is entertaining and I would say this one was. The one disappointment i had was with the Playstation Move technology. The integration seemed to be a copy of how first person shooters work for the Wii but there was no real way to calibrate it in game. Since it uses the camera to track the motion of the controller I had no way in game to see what the camera sees where I am sitting and I have a feeling that is why it would not respond well causing me to turn circles or turn much further than I wanted. This was a minor problem to me though because all I did was pause the game pick up the regular controller and I was back in action. So the minor flaws are nowhere near enough to take any points away from this game. If you do not already own this game, it is a must have.

Before i start this review, let me make it clear. I have played first two Bioshock games. I would highly recommend that you at least play the First Bioshock (2007), since it was made by the same team that made Infinite. Bioshock 2 is not necessary to have been played (it was also a lesser quality product). Bioshock Infinite is a unique first person experience, being a gamer there are not that many games that have interesting story in a believable world with great gameplay. There are few very games that which combine great gameplay with good story telling (i.e Red Dead Redemption, Bioshock 1, Spec Ops, and Half Life 2). Lets get the bad things out of the way, story. I am not going to spoil the story for anyone, but just to warn you that this game has a pretty confusing ending. You won't be able to figure out the whole story by playing the game once. There is a lot that is left to player's imagination, but the biggest problem with the story is that it tries to hard to be unique and layered that the player would get confused very quickly by the end. Also, you can see some of the twists coming a mile ahead. Also, some side stories and character are pretty well done. Now for the best part, gameplay and the world. This game was done last year, but the studio decided to polish out all the bugs and made sure that the player experience would be smooth. Combat is fun and trying out new the powers and weapons is a lot of fun, but like I think most people will use some powers like fire and electricity to crowd control the mobs that will be attacking you constantly. Same is true for weapons, I very often used the shotgun and machine guns. Melee is not as good as Call of Duty games, but some of the finishers look cool and very brutal. Graphically this game holds pretty well on PS3 version, you will see some frame rate drop when there is a lot of chaos, but seeing that PS3 is almost a 7 year old hardware, I can't complain about the the small graphical issues. I would highly recommend this game to any video gamer who like a game with interesting world and gameplay. Story is little disappointing compared to the first Bioshock, but that is only a small issue. Over all I would give this game 8 out of 10.

The style of the game reminds me of the Uncharted series; it has good voice acting, a decent story, and good action. Graphics and controls are good and the setting is different from the original, which makes it feel like a brand new game.

I was late on the Bioshock bandwagon. After hearing about Bioshock Infinite coming out, I figured I procrastinated enough and decided to play the first 2 before trying out the latest installment of the Bioshock series. It was amazing to see how the games have improved in gameplay going from the first to Infinite. Infinite's story is fantastic and playing it immediately after the first two was spellbinding. Going from the dark and rusty atmosphere of Rapture to bright and colorful world in the sky of Columbia was nothing but eye candy. Audio was superb and the mechanics were well balanced in my opinion. There were a few glitches but nothing that broke my immersion. Definitely keeping this one.

If you're looking at this game and feel like you may be interested (familiar with the series, enjoy FPS titles (especially non military ones), love great stories) just go ahead and buy it. At this point, most copies are well under the original $60 MSRP so it's well worth the investment. Pros -You don't need to play the other games in the series to enjoy. Though there are nods to the former, Infinite stands by itself. -The PS3 version comes with a download of Bioshock 1!!! -One of the best stories in gaming supported by an amazing cast of characters. Very Inception like ending that'll keep you thinking for a while. -The story gives it some replay value because the second time around you definitely look at everything differently. -Great gameplay that enhances and blends in with the story. -This and Last of Us are the two best escort games I've ever played. -Lives up to the Bioshock name stylistically while simultaneously finding its own groove. -I personally got frustrated a bit by the claustrophobic level design of previous Bioshock games. That's not the case here. The level design is gorgeous and takes advantage of the airy city of Columbia (even if you're still on a track more or less). Cons (not many. In fact they are more like difference of preference than actual cons) -The story/gameplay are very linear, which isn't necessarily a bad thing. But if you need a Mass Effect like my choices mean everything or a GTA esque I want to tackle the world at my own pace, you might be turned off a bit. You're very much on a track and there isn't much exploring or choose your own adventure. I do recommend to explore as much as you can though since much of the storyline is scattered about via audio recordings. Stock up on lock picks! -This is a very M rated game for more than just violence (and it is violent). Unlike a lot of other shooters, there are many other elements that earn this that M rating. I don't think it's as freaky as the previous Bioshocks -it uses a lot of brighter colors and feels more open - but still has a lot creepy moments. Point being a kid that can handle CoD level violence might not be able to handle the tone of Bioshock. -The gameplay itself isn't very challenging. Enemies are plentiful, but can be handled fairly easily especially considering the generous respawn system. Experienced gamers should definitely go with Hard. -While the level design is a beauty, the graphics aren't anything to write home about. There's nothing that necessarily detracts from the game, but it did feel a bit dated to me. Bioshock Infinite is one of the best games of 2013 and deserves all the praise you've heard. It's a linear tale with gameplay that isn't necessarily the most challenging, but the story is amazing with memorable characters you'll care about and the weapons and powers are diverse enough to give you some options as to how you play. Fans of the series won't be disappointed. The only reason I'd recommend you not to buy this game is if you scare easily. There are creepy elements typical to Bioshock, but I wouldn't necessarily call it a scary game.

I won't spoil anything about the game. I will say you will definitely want to play this game if you were a fan of the first two Bioshock games. Similar gameplay, however BI has a bit more of the hand-holding if you're in a firefight. Regardless, the story is superb, the AI, animations, and facial expressions for Elizabeth are some of the best in the industry. The ending is gripping, shocking, awe-inspiring, and frankly the best ending of any video game I've ever experienced in my 30 years of playing video games. At the end, let all the credit go by or you'll miss the final bit that's so important to wrapping up the story.

By far the best of the Bioshock games. You're no longer wandering in dark corridors, no longer being snuck up upon by drugged psychos. The plot is in the vain of the previous two games, though the way it is ever so slightly connected wont bother you after you've been immersed in this one. The story tellers subtly hint at so many things, interlace various story lines, and make you genuinely care what happens to not only Booker the protagonist, but your charge, the ever helpful and never troublesome Elizabeth. She is the best video game side kick. She gives you power ups. She never needs rescuing. She is strong, emotive, and almost single handedly carries the story along. If you liked the previous games, get Infinite. If you like artistic games, get it. If you want to play the best game in years, it's right here. It explores what made the first Bioshock great, and solves the issues inherent from the less stellar second game, and ends in a way that is so perfect it will ruin most other games for you. You'll find yourself asking, "why can't they all be like this?"

This game was purchase on a recommendation from my friend. Overall, I thought this was a very good game. This story was very well written and engaging, and climactic at the end. The shooting mechanics is smooth and on par with any other shooter. Currency and the items to purchase was a little cumbersome though, and added no value in my opinion to the game.

Bioshock: Infinite is a return to what made the original Bioshock great. A new world that is easy to become immersed in. It has a great story and mixes up the gameplay enough to make it stand out from Bioshock and Bioshock 2.

This game is honestly one of the better I have played not only in this generation, but in my entire gaming life (since 1988). First-person shooters typically aren't my thing unless they have creative narratives or immersive worlds, and Bioshock: Infinite does not disappoint. To really understand every great aspect of the story takes patience and focus, but it's well worth it. Some people think that the story is overrated, and to those naysayers I say boo. But even if you don't like games for the story, the general gameplay is very fun and the overall package is super polished. Excellent experience!

If you like the previous Bioshock games then you'll definitely enjoys this game. Think of Bioshock in a sky city instead of underwater. The cool thing is that it takes place before the s*** hits the fan so everything looks very clean and organized. I'll just leave it at that since I don't want to give to much away.

This game is a must have for people who like shooters with a good story.Gameplay is very similar to the original Bioshock series which is not a bad thing. You can use a weopon with one hand and a superpower with the other. As you go along you unlock more weopons and superpowers as well as upgrade them. This has become one of my favorite games in my collection and will recommend to everyone .Be advised that I heard some people got offended because it does have some religious themes.Buy it.

I don't game much so can't compare this to other titles out there but this was an enjoyable shooter with a pretty unique storyline that drives things. That made it more enjoyable than a simple 'shoot everything and save the world' game though the storyline gets a bit confusing until all is explained at the end. The unique powers (called 'vigors') in the game also provide a unique set of abilities beyond the standard gun varieties that these games typically have.

This game is fantastic. The story is very well played out and seems more fixed for an academy award movie. The gameplay is excellent as well. Switching between vigors and guns to attack enemies is a great experience. The best part is something only PS3 owners can get. The game comes with the original game Bioshock. Another great thing is the difficulty settings. If you like hard games then after beating the game try out 1999 mode. Its pretty insane.

Moving, thoughtful, gorgeous and gruesome, the story of Bioshock Infinite is one that must be experienced. But please be aware that this is an intensely (though not gratuitously) violent game that is meant for more mature gamers. Although it deftly uses the time it's set in the make bold statements about contemporary political, social and economic issues, the real draw is the story of Booker and Elizabeth, the two main characters of the game.

This game is the best of the Bioshock series yet! I really enjoy playing this game and going through the story line. It is not a real scary or bloody game but still has a challenge to get through. I would recommend it for teens and adults to play as a single player. You can also use the Motion controller in this game as well as a copy of the original Bioshock included.
