I doubt the term "first-person" has ever been taken so literally in a video game than in Bioshock. You really become the protagonist Jack, from his dramatic planecrash through every horrific discovery he makes in the underwater metropolis he's forced to habitate. Even though you never see his face (nor his feet for that matter) it's hard not to feel every plunge of the syringe containing fluid vital to exploration and combat to every scare the insane (and insanely powerful) natives of Rapture put into you. This game will make you feel paranoid, guilty, and anxious, yet despite all the negative adjectives, have you ever really felt so human in a video game before? Sure, you'll have superpowers (including being able to comfortably carry eight weapons simultaneously, but such is video gaming), but the humanity is still there, as it will be in all of your superpowered victims, no matter how insane, murderous, and deceitful they are. Besides having a great story and atmosphere, the game plays pretty solidly as well. The only foibles you will encounter are slowdowns (they usually only happen when an creature called a Big Daddy is stomping around with other enemies present), and the occasional pause in frames (sometimes you can be looking at the same screen for a second while your character is moving before the game corrects itself). Pretty minor flaws considering how utterly fantastic the graphics are. And the perfect sound effects probably play the biggest role in this game, as almost all of your enemies are pretty chatty with themselves (I did mention they were insane), and every creak and groan will make you turn around constantly to check if anyone actually used some stealth tactics on you (and some will). I strongly advise the purchase of this game. Enjoy the story (despite it being as disturbing as it is), enjoy exploring virtually a new world, and enjoy just being Jack.

I don't know where to start. The graphics are unbeliveable, the sceneary is gorgeous that makes you want to walk slow and appreciate it, the controls work great and the story line makes me think they'll make a movie out this one day. If that's not enough to make you want to try this go on Xbox Live and try the free demo, it's the very begining of the game and gives an idea of what to expect. I loved it so much that I beat this game twice already, once I was nice and saved the little girls and the second time...well, play it and you'll know what I mean, you get two different endings too.

This game was game of the year for 2007 in most award listings, and for good reason. If you do not own this game yet, pick it up, you certainly will not be disappointed. This is not the "same old thing" in any way. You quickly find yourself unable to tear yourself away, exploring this strange and captivating world and experimenting with your abilities. Game play is very intuitive once you get the hang of it, and the controls work very well. The storyline is superb, the plot twists and turns, always leaving you on the edge of your seat.

In Bioshock you are the only survivor of a plane crash over the ocean. You find a light house and you find you way underwater to a utopian city called Rapture. Here you will find out why you are there and what happened to the city, which is in ruin after some event. First of all I must say that the enviroments are amazing, not just from a graphical standpoint but just the syle of it and ambience. Posters for business and products are all over and give you a sense that you are indeed in a lost city under water and not just a level in some game with walls and ect. It makes you wish there is more of it to see. The people who lived in rapture have become "splicers", these are people who have abused the genetic enhancements that are sold all over the city. Now they are disfirgured and unpredictable, they happen to be all over the city. Also inhabiting the city is the duo of the little sister and the big daddy. In order to survive, you must deciede wether the little girls live or die. But in order to do this you must take down the big daddy, which looking like a huge diving suit with a drill, moves with alarming speed. There are are also plasmids and tonics with give you abilities such as telekinesesis or making you self invisible. The game has a good story and intesting characters, even the splicers who inhabit the city have something to them. You will see them scavenging around the city, preplexed by something that happened to them before the city fell. The game has three difficulties and two endings. There are vita chambers in the game that basically respawn you after death, I reccomend you download the free content that will give you an option to disable them. This will give the game more reply value as well as some new tonics and plasmids as well. I reccomend this game to anyone who likes shooter that have more to do with it that shooting things. No that it is cheaper, that is even better. Go pick up Bioshock today, would you kindly?

Forget about Gears of War, and all those other "great games". Its all right here in Bioshock. This game is truly, truly amazing. The graphics, the sound, everything about Bioshock is perfect. Its not just your every day shooter. It adds a twist with having different upgrades and using the plasmids against your enemies which brings in so many different strategies. If I could, I would rate this a 100. But, if your a serious Xbox 360 gamer, this is the game to buy.

If there is one game that every xbox 360 owner needs to own it is this. Not Halo 3, not Gears of War, not any other game. Just Bioshock. Video 10/10 The graphics are the most amazing I have seen of any game EVER. The "people" look real, the rooms look great, every little detail has been polished so it all looks and FEELS so real. Audio 10/10 Same as video - perfect soundtrack for the situations, very polished and carefully chosen Gameplay 10/10 The (combat) combinations are endless. The storyline is rather linear (there is very little time that you don't know exactly where to go and that there is more than one way to get there. A lot of times there is even a useful little arrow to tell you which way to go) But where this game truly shines is combat. You can incinerate your enemies, causing them to slowly die, stop them in their tracks with a swarm of hornets or a blast of electricity. You can equip tonics that make you a juggernaut with the wrench or make you a great sharpshooter. The game's claim of "No two same play throughs" is very true. Each and every person will have their own style. The hacking mini-game is done in such a way that the transition is perfect. The seamless integration of this game is just another example of the level of perfection this game achieves. Finally, there are actually choices that you have to make and that you actually feel. This leads to the replay value - the game has 3 different endings that depend on the choices you make. Plus its a blast to play through again and again. All in all this is one of my favorite games of all time (next to the N64 Zelda games) Basically it is the greatest game of the next generation. Buy it today!

Iloved this games from the first few seconds playing it. The controls are very natural and easy to get used to. The storyline instantly pulls you in and keeps you involved throughout. This is not a terribly difficult game, but more than makes up for it by keeping entertained for the duration. If you like a game that keeps you interested in the characters and takes place in an amazing world, try this one.

This is an amazing game for the Xbox 360. It has a very deep storyline that will keep you on the edge of your seat. Game play can be extremely thrilling at times. AI will trick you and scare during unsuspecting times. Weapons in the game can be customized to power them up, and there are different types of ammo you can create to suit different types of enemies. Bioshock is by far my favorite XBOX 360 game.

At first I was skeptical of this title. I had read some good reviews and I thought what the heck might as well try it. Glad I did, because this game is really good. The graphics are fantastic and the story line is really engaging. It takes no time to adjust to the controls and the gameplay is really good. The only bad things are that the game somewhat repetitve, but it's not to the extent of most games. And when you die you are respawned at a vita-chamber and you are not really punished for dying. So, you can die as many times as you want and keep most of what you have collected as far as health packs, and Eve hypos (for plasmids). Overall, this was the best the first person shooter last year and you should definately check this title out.

This game is great. It has the best graphics on the 360 so far and the game play is awesome. The story is intriguing and immerses you in the game. All the weapons are very cool and they all feel right. The only bad things are that there aren't many variations on opponents and that there should have been more weapons and plasmids, especially the transportation plasmid which was removed.

I didn't play the online multiplayer so I can't speak for that but the regular game is great. Probably my favorite 360 game. The story is really interesting, the graphics are great, the sound is great. I traded mine in but I may pick up another copy and play it again while I wait for part 2 to come out. If you haven't played this one yet, play it!

I loved this game, I spent so much time walking around and exploring every inch of Rapture. The graphics are second to none, every detail is rich with color, the controls are silky smooth, and it had the best story of any game to date. You will become immersed in it after an hour, I guarantee it. Would you kindly just go buy it and get started.

Bioshock is already being heralded as an instant classic among game journalists worldwide. Its presentation, graphics, sound, and gameplay is top notch. The story is cleverly executed and its art direction is unmatched by any game title released in recent memory. It would be a shock if Bioshock does not win the Game of the Year award.

All I have to say is Great Graphics!! Great Story!! Easy Controls!! And a Really screwed up game. The game will have you saying WTF the whole time. All of your powers make you feel like a GOD!! Who wouldnt want to shot lightning bolts out of there hand? The Achievments are really good to. A must have game if you ask me!!

I purchased this game a week before it came out, do to a certain store selling it early, I must say this is the best shooter since Halo 2. The wide range of weapons and abilities you have as the main character is astrounding. With the special abilities there are multiple unique ways to kill enemies and the story is amazing. I can not stop playing this game, I recommend it to everyone!

Bioshock is a very unique game and was my first for Xbox 360. It sets the bar high with its graphics and story line and lets you go to a variety of places with different weapons and tonics. The spider splicers and big daddies are fun to kill and overall this is one of the best games I have ever played.

This game pulls you in with a immersive atmosphere that grips you quickly as you try to discover a amazing new world. The game has expection controls that are easy to master with many kinds of abilities and weapons as you traverse through each section to discover what is going on in this underwater world. Who are the little sisters? Who is that guy that is helping you. It is all amazing game. The graphics are amazing with fluid realistic water and the looks is gritty with a 60s vibe. If your into first person shooters, action/adventure, or just want a mysterious mature story then this is your game. The game has two diverse endings depending on harvesting little sisters or saving them which brings about a different ending. Its a enjoyable game that will have you hooked!

Bioshock is truly something fresh for the first person shooter genre. While I was kind of disappointed that it was not an actual sequel to the previous Shock games, I soon got over it and really had a good time. Good story line, good graphics, and controls that are very easy to learn for anyone with any first person shooter experience. Only complaint was the repetitiveness of the game. Which is why I only gave it 4 stars. But that aside, I still think it's definitely a game for everyones shelf.

I got this game the day it came out. I was not dissapointed. The graphics are simply amazing. The water is probably my most favorite example of the stunning visuals. The game play is smooth with a lot of action. There special abilities you acquire as you play are fun and different. There is something intrinsically satisfying about freezing a guy solid and then shattering him with a quick hit from a wrench. The difficulty levels reallly make a difference on how you play the game. The big brothers are very difficult to kill in the harder difficulties. There is replay value, one because it is just fun to play, but secondly there are diffent outcomes with choices you make that will change the game up a bit. Overall, this game is worth playing and I would recommend it to any FPS player who is looking for a something a little different than the typical point and shoot games.
