    Amazing Game

This was the best game that I have yet to play on the 360. From the very beginning I was sucked into the storyline. You think you know what is happening with the story and then they throw you a curve ball. I like the idea of two different endings depending on how you deal with the little sisters, although it doesn't effect much else in the game. The game play gets a little monotonous with how many things you have to hack, but somehow that still didn't take away from the experience. I definitely stayed up way too late playing this game a few times. You're so wrapped up in the game you forget to the look at the clock. The graphics are amazing. If you have an HD TV you'll like the amount of detail they put into everything. I would recommend this game to anyone who likes first person shooters. Caveat: they're serious with the Mature rating, this game is not for kids.

Game of the Year (so far)

Bioshock is the best shooter I have played in years. The graphics are amazing, especially the water effects, and the level of detail really helps to create the creepy atmosphere of Rapture. Think Half-Life crossed with Resident Evil. Controls are very intuitive and despite having so many weapons and plasmids at your disposal it is very easy to switch; the game keeps controls very simple. Lack of multiplayer is not an issue with this title as the levels are so immersive and versatile that you can replay the game with a totally different style. Am nearly finished with the game and I can't wait to play through it again, this time saving all the Little Sisters. It's rare that I'll buy a shooter that has no multiplayer at all but trust me, this game is worth it. An amazing accomplishment and I can't recommend it highly enough to anyone with a X360.

    Best Graphics Ever for FPS

This game has the best graphics I have ever seen. I put it on my 50'inch HDTV 1080i with surround sound system and it was more than I expected. The graphics alone are incredible with a detailed environment and a manipulative atmosphere. The plot is great and leaves you making your own guesses in which route to play throughout the game. It introduces new attacks and ideas by adding in combonations of plasmids and weapon technology. This game is one of the best I have played with the only downside, I beat it in two days. I have not recieved the all the gamerscore points for the game but beat it while getting a little more than half. It's a definate must to play this game, but keep in mind that I beat it in two days, you very well could do the same. BTW, it has no multiplayer so online doesn't exists except to purchase themes and trailer media.

There is no better single player game on the 360 than Bioshock. The story is immersive, the graphics are excellant, the sound is perfect. This is a next generation FPS. Buy Halo 3 for the multiplayer but buy Bioshock for the single player.

    Ridiculous Game

This game is a graphical masterpiece, almost as good as Gears of War in the graphics department. It was a little less gory than Gears, but not by much...at least you or the enemies didn't explode into pieces in this game. This game is insane because you can both do magic (or plasmids, as they are called in the game) and use normal weapons as well. This game is a little difficult at first on normal mode, because you are forever running out of everything! However, the game actually gets easier as you go along, and I beat the last boss on the first try. I actually think I didn't die for the whole last level. The music is great too, where else are you going to shoot enemies and do magic to the Nutcracker Suite or Bobby Darin? The only major drawback is that there is no multiplayer, but it is still an awesome game.

    Creepy and fun!

If you like FPS games, and really interesting storylines, this is the game for you! The story is creepy, unique, and even disturbing at times. I normally don't play creepy games, and I wouldn't call this a horror game, but it definately has it's creepy gross moments. The weapon options are pretty darn cool. What's better than electrocuting people with your hands? or lighting them on fire and watching them run around the room screaming? And its great that you can incorporate both your guns/melee weapons as well as your plasmids (i.e. freeze them, then beat them with a wrench and watch them shatter!) The graphics are pretty good too. Like i said above, i REALLY like the storyline. So if you enjoy a good FPS, and a good unique story that isn't like all the others, get this game.

This game is just simply amazing. The graphics are great, the story is compelling and all the weapons and plasmids add so much to the game. Everything about this game is perfect and i definitely can't w8 for the sequel to come out.

    Awesome game

Overall, I love this game, awesome graphics, great sound, I got an Xbox for my birthday almost a week ago, and I got this game first and I was amazed at how good the graphics were, gameplay is awesome, a lot of twist and turns in this game, very strategic. The only thing that I didnt really care for was the fact that the storyline is fairly quick, it moves along extremely fast and another fact is that you dont get to kill the main villain, its a cut scene. If you go in there thinking that you will have some awesome boss battle with him, its a totally different story when you reach him. Overall, AWESOME GAME! Buy it for sure

This game has a great story with nice twists and the Unreal engine 3 powered graphics help set the mood. The voice acting is also good. The A.I. of the enemies could have used some work, they are very typical of a first person shooter. There are 3 different endings but they are not executed at a satisfactory level. The enemies are also repetive. Overall though, I very good game that should be played for its engrossing storyline.

    The Shooter 2.0

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

BioShock lives up to the hype, and not only that, it surpassed it. BioShock delivers so much new to the shooter genre and could frankly be called shooter/adventure because there are several missions that requires you to do a lot of the adventure stuff, collect items and bring them back, which unfortunately ruins the shooter feeling, even though they fit the story perfectly. Nevertheless, the totally stunning story and great action elements makes this title completely outstanding and worthy of a purchase - no questions asked. Many new things will be introduced to you when playing amongst the prettiest water effects to date, and amazing plasmids (gene modifications). If you're looking for the most new and intuitive shooter to date, look no further, BioShock is what you want.

Probably best gae for Xbox 360 yet

this is probably the best game out for xbox 360 yet. It has a great gameplay that mixes powers with weapons. It has a great plot with a jaw-dropping twist. It also doesn't just come out and tell you the plot but you find out what happened before you got there by listening to diaries scattered around by previous inhabitants. Gets really intense at parts especially if played at night when tired. The only bad thing is that you rarely interact with other characters which is probably because your player never talks which also gives you the feeling that the players are talking to you personally. Another bad thing is that the game is reasonably short but most games are anyway now. This is the type of game that you can't understand how great it is until you buy it. SO BUY IT!!!

BIOSHOCK contender for GAME OF THE YEAR!!

This game is awesome. When i first got to play it through the demo, I was astonished by the graphics and gameplay. Then, when I got the full game, the story is just so immersive that you'll just be hooked to it. It's not like other FPS's out there with just a linear story. There's really meaning to it and twists and turns that make it enjoyable. The use of the powers and the role playing elements adds a nice touch to the game. You can also use the environment to your advantage. Puzzles are also nice and challenging at times. If you own a Xbox 360 or if you have the rig to run it on your PC, this is a must game to get. Only downside probably is that there is no multiplayer, but the single player is remarkable and memorable. It will make you replay it over and over again.

A thriller from start to finish

If there's one thing about Bioshock that I would say was the best thing about it, I couldn't say that one aspect was better, because the composure of this game was classical! From your terrifying crash into the ocean at the beginning, to the shocking conclusion, I was not able to stop playing this game. It is unique, I daresay no other game is quite like it because of the "deserted" setting, an underwater metropolis called Rapture that is gorgeuosly presented yet dirty and dilapidated. As I made my way through the beautiful environments I could find very few things wrong with Bioshock except for its level of difficulty. So if you heed what this review says, you will go out and play the game 2 or 3 times, because it's just that good.

This is an excellent Single player shooter with a great story line, the amount of plasmids that you can have or the many upgrades that your guns can have. You would also have a decision between good or evil.

One Of The Most Important Games Of All Time.

Bioshock is one of the most important and greatest games of all time. With its phenominal voice acting and intriguing story line, Bioshock will have you playing, and guessing untill the shocking ending. You play as an unnamed character who winds up in Rapture, an underwater city, after a plane crash and has to find a way out and up to the surface. However he meets interesting people and finds that the socity of Rapture has turned for the worse. So now you not only have to find a way out, but you must fight in order to stay alive. The game has that sense of ambience as you feel like your in the city of Rapture. Everything from venders to funiture bring this city to life. Along with the powerful voice acting from the characters and you would think Rapture was a real place. Every word comes form peoples lips as if it was not scripted, but by free will. However with a game like this, their has to be some flaw in it and sadly their is, but it is a very minor one. The game can be repetitive at times. The missions do not seem all the different ranging from search missions to protect missions to escort missions. The way you care out these missions lie with what form of weapon you use and also what plasmids, DNA genetic powers, you use. Also at times, the game can be a bit scary when you least expect it to be. Overall this game speaks a message of loyalty, faith, religion, and also the country. I would recommend it to anyone looking for a unique game.

    Favorite game of all time

Bioshock is an instant favorite. The retro Gothic tones of the underwater city Rapture will immerse you into a story so good, it's hard to believe its a video game. Most first person shooters are just run and gun. Bioshock is different, half of the fun is learning about the fallen city of Rapture through audio diaries or just plan looking around. Though you can't be too careless just wondering around, splicers and big daddy's roam this territory and certainly don't care for your presence. You'll need Atom to survive this trek and the only way to get it is a little sister. Unfortunately they are protected by big daddy's. Get ready for plot twists and some great under water action. Bring on Bioshock 2.

you fall out of the sky into the ocean to find yourself in a terrible airplane crash. when you reach the surface oddly there is a small island with doors in the middle of it that just happens to be there... like it was supposed to be... you then enter the doors to find a sub that takes you to the mysterious world of rapture the game play was really fun and really responsive and you can make your charactor however you like. you get new plasmids that can shock, enflame, security camera,etc.. and a wide assortment of weapons as well the storyline was definitly one of the better ones and it had an amazing twist to it near to the end that i dont think anyone saw coming

Using an enhanced version of the Unreal Engine 2.5 this game turned out to look great and play even better. You can choose from dozens of ways to eliminate your foes by using plasmids, or just pick up one of the many weapons in the game and blast your away. With so many ways to take out your enemy and multiple story endings, its no wonder you are going to play the story more than once. Even with many great titles still to come, Bioshock has made its mark on the 360, with an unforgettable story and unparallel graphics. Its just a must buy.

    Buy Bioshock

Bioshock for the 360 is a must buy. It is a unique game that is forging the way for future shooting games. The level design, weapons, and creativity on how to defeat your enemies is brilliant. You can use weapons such as the shotgun, machine gun, chemical thrower, or even a crossbow to kill your enemies. All weapons can be modified for increased strength and faster firing. Along with weapons you can use plasmids to shoot electricity, fire, ice, swarms of bees, and much more to defeat and fool your enemies. This game is an amazing 1-player game, but unfortunately that is all it is. You cannot play it online, but it is still a must buy for anyone who owns a Xbox 360.

I found Bioshock to be very entertaining. I found it difficult to stop playing due to the immersive graphics, ease of control, endless variety of weapon and plasmid configurations, and great storyline. It is always a plus when a game allows you to control the outcome with each decision you make, such as the right choices to allow you into Cohen's apartment later. Or, the decision to harvest or rescue a little sister. The achievements are obtainable and force you to take alternate paths each time you play it to complete every one. Bioshock is definitely worth the money, time, and game playing effort. I place it on the shelf next to Gears of War and Call of Duty.
