Customers appreciate the Big Green PET PLUS Upright Deep Cleaner's excellent cleaning performance and ease of use. Many also highlight its powerful suction as a key benefit. However, some find the machine to be heavy and bulky, and its size and price point are also mentioned as potential drawbacks.

It’s Now an Addiction to Shampoo Carpets

We’ve always had Hoover’s nicest shampooer for pets, and it would break every 14-16 months since we got it 4 years ago. They were always good about replacing it but after this last break, it was just time to see what better ones were out there. We have two large dogs, many family members in the home, mud from rain and snow storms, etc. We use a shampooer regularly (at least 2-3x/month for either routine cleaning or spot cleaning.
This machine is a game changer. It’s so easy to use, fill, and just in one pass on a carpet that appeared clean, your mind will be blown. Does the best job drying too compared to others on the market. I’m so impressed and will never have another shampooer except from this line by Bissell. I hope it lasts the test of time now. Gets so much dirt up even if you vacuum twice a week, which we do. In the photos you can tell the difference of one pass on a relatively clean carpet that we tested the shampooer on. Amazing.

I’ve spent months looking at this carpet cleaner.
For context, I have a dog with a diagnosed bladder condition (that literally can’t hold it). My carpet doesn’t typically hold stains but will show the product from the spot bot after use. You can see the ‘before’ and ‘after’ photos of her favorite spot. This is only after one use (and two runs) over the area. It completely picked everything up. I even used it on the tassels on the rug and they look brand new. Works wonders!
I highly recommend that if you have shag or high pile style carpeting that you invest in this carpet cleaner. I’ve spent between $200-$350 on 3+ other cleaners and they never pick up the water in this type of carpeting. This is the meanest carpet cleaner in the game to get everything up (from odors to stains).
I’ve used a total of 4+ times now and will say that you need to do your due diligence if you have pet hair in your carpets (i.e., vacuuming prior to use, removing brushes to get gunk out, doing thorough cleaning after use).
Smells and looks brand new in here!

This carpet cleaner is amazing and worth every penny! I have a different carpet cleaner that just didn’t seem to ever get the carpet clean. I could run it five times and the water would always be dirty. I bought this one and OMG it absolutely works! The magic happens when you run it a second time with just water in the tank to rinse out the shampoo. The water is noticeably clearer and the carpet is definitely cleaner during the rinse pass. I ran it in the other direction to kind of criss cross and it was like having brand new carpet the way the fibers came to life. I have a senior pet that has accidents and this machine does a way better job than I ever thought possible. I only took a before and after of one section but wish I had for each room I did. I thought the pics people post where the carpet looks like a completely different color were fake but then I took my own and you can see the line of where I used the machine and where I didn’t. This is well with the investment! I don’t know how it holds up long term but so far I am very satisfied. It is a little heavy, but not unmanageable. The folding handle makes it great for storing. I highly recommend!

I was on the verge of replacing all the carpets in 4 bedrooms with wood floors. The stains in my carpets looked like a crime scene waiting for CSI. Decided to give this a try first, the stains have vanished and look new, I estimate I have saved $6000-$7000.

When I initially started opening this carpet cleaner I was surprised at how large it was. It stands nearly 3 and 1/2 feet tall, and is solidly built. Please be careful when moving this cleaner too, as it is very heavy. The build of this carpet cleaner is well thought out too, the clean water reservoir and the dirty water reservoir easily rest on top of each other and conveniently detach when needing to fill or empty, respectively. I have a dog and was always looking at larger, higher quality carpet cleaner that does more than a spot treatment if needed. This carpet cleaner does just that, it reminds me of larger, janitorial type vacuum with a build in carpet cleaning capability. It is about as loud as some vacuums, but not overly loud. Suction and cleaning ability is the best I've seen. I tested a small spot and it picked up all dirt and grime with ease. As mentioned above, refilling and filling is very convenient too since all compartments easily detach. If there is one minor area that i would change, it would be the power cord, it seems to be either too long for the area it is wrapped around when its not being used, or the pegs the cord is supposed to wrap around are slightly too shallow for the length of the cord. Either way its not a deal breaker.
All in all, if you are looking for a heavy duty cleaner, that is able to clean with ease, then this is a great pick for you as it performs up to par, is well built and easy to maneuver.

The last few years have been rough. Every spring I have a professional crew come in with their huge truck-mounted unit to steam clean my beige carpets. I had been meaning to clean my carpets this spring but decided the better route would be to upgrade my 20-year-old Bissell carpet cleaner that is used to maintain my carpets.
Lo’behold one afternoon, the Bissell Big Green Pet Plus machine shows up on my doorstep. I was reminded of how big and heavy the unit actually is compared to the old one, as I was moving it into my house. Unboxing the unit showed promise of cleaner carpets in the near future. The box contains the main vacuum unit, a 9-foot long hose with a stain tool, a tool that I was not familiar with called the “Stain Trapper Tool” and a full-size bottle of the “Pet Pro - OXY Urine Eliminator” carpet shampoo.
The weather was dull and grey, so I had to wait for a warmer sunny day to steam clean my carpets. Carpet cleaning always means moving furniture. I identified the highest traffic areas that needed the most attention. Teddy, the grand-dog had a puppy stage that left a few accidents in the past. While these areas were previously treated with the Spot Bot and the 20-year-old Bissell cleaner, I put them high on the priority list. Not having cleaned the carpet professionally for a few years, I began with a carpet vacuum to take out any dust, followed up with pre-treatment. A spray bottle filled with some of the carpet shampoo and water was applied to the highest traffic areas and left to sit before I began my quest in reclaiming my carpets.
I have to say, I have a new respect for the pros who come clean my carpets yearly. The Bissell is heavy, and it does not have caster wheels which makes moving it clumsy.. Following the instructions, I laid down a layer of wet shampoo on a forward and backward track, followed by a vacuum of water. Making an overlapping track, I targeted the first high traffic area. The results were promising. It took several tries and in overlapping 90-degree directions to really see a difference in the carpet. The carpet was plenty dry after the first few water evacuations, and the carpet was dry within 2 hours.
The bad part of doing one part of the carpet, is now you have to do all of it as there is a colour difference. In all, it took a few hours to do the living room carpet. I attempted to do the stairs with the 9-foot hose, and it worked well. However, as the tools do not have a powered brush, be prepared for an extensive brushing motion to get the dirt out. Pre-treatment helps.
The water tanks are sufficiently sized and at 1.5 gallons (my estimate, specifications say 1.75 gallons), it adds an additional 12 pounds to the weight of the already hefty vacuum, which comes in at 42-45 pounds. Using this machine is a workout. I do not thinK I have sweat as much doing housework as I did steam cleaning my carpets. The incredibly strong vacuum suction that is used to soak up the water adds to the additional energy required to clean your carpets. The unit is not self-powered (like my normal vacuum) therefore be prepared for a workout. Once your freshwater tank is empty, it's time to drain and refill. I had no idea what my carpets had but the black water sure proved its effectiveness. The water drain and refill process can be a bit messy but the large tanks are easy to carry and drain. I found cleaning the tanks and pipes after using the vacuum very easy.
Overall I am very happy with this unit. It performed beyond my expectations. While you can do an entire house with it, sometimes hiring the pros has its charms. This would work very well to maintain your carpets on a bi-monthly basis, and for that I see myself doing so. There are a few nitpicking items that I thought were a bit odd, one particularly affected me as it cannot access the edge of the carpet/wall easily. You will need to plan how to tackle walls with either a 45-degree sweep or with the hand tool as there is a 2” track left due to the brush location.
I am not sure what the difference is between this model and the other similarly labelled “big green machine” from Bissell, but the inclusion of the 2nd “stain trapper” tool may be something you would be interested in. I wish Bissell had information on how to use the stain trapper tool especially.
Pros:
* Works as advertised. Cleans carpets like the pros, though pre-treatment may be required
* Dries carpets effectively with strong suction
* Large sample carpet shampoo to get you started
Cons:
* Heavy, not easy to move around, lacks caster wheels
* No way to store the extra tools or extension without the box.
* Hot water tank not insulated, cools off quickly affecting cleaning ability
* No instructions on how to use the hand tools
* Unable to get to the corners - need to use hand tools or 45-degree tracks.

About
The Bissell Big Green Pet Plus is a professional grade cleaning machine that’s perfect if you have pets and/or children. It’s an upright cleaner with attachments that allow you to do not only floors but also stairs, upholstery, and other fabrics.
What It Comes With
In the box you will find the upright cleaner, a stain trapper tool, a stair tool, and a bottle of cleaning solution. The cleaning solution is a 48oz bottle of the Bissell Pet Pro Oxy Urine Eliminator.
Setup
Getting the cleaner set up was not very hard. Once unpackaged, I could see that there were two plastic tanks (one for clean water and the other for waste water). Inside one of the tanks was the bottle of cleaning solution. Other than that there were two attachment pieces. Not many parts to manage. I will say that the cleaner seemed fairly heavy.
Prepping for the water was really easy. Put hot water in the clean tank and then add the appropriate amount of cleaning solution. The tanks simply stack on top of each other, and the top tank has a handle that locks it in.
Using the Cleaner
The reason that I was interested in the Big Green Pet Plus is due to my family. We have a 5 year old child, an aging dog, and a puppy. Between the three of them and our normal use, our carpets get pretty dirty and stained. We had one stain in particular that we have hand scrubbed numerous times, and it would not go away. Our older dog had vomited on the floor and the stain kept reappearing. I knew immediately that‘s first place I was going to test this machine on.
Running the machine was pretty easy. Go slow, press the button on the handle to spray the solution, and then make passes across the area. In 20 minutes the worst carpet area in our house was clean – stain was gone. The next day our carpet looked amazing!
While using the cleaner I noticed that it was a little tough to move at an angle. The wheels are designed to push straight forward. I managed and was able to steer it, but it is one thing that could be improved. The cleaner had really good suction and actually created some carpet fuzz balls during the process. I am planning to use the attachments on the stairs next. I also thought that the cleaning solution had a fresh scent.
Clean-Up
I was concerned that the clean-up would take a long time, but it wasn’t too bad. Just dump the water out, rinse with water, and let the tanks dry. Once dried, you can store the unit. I probably spent around 10-15 minutes with the clean-up. If you use the hoses you need to rinse those out as well.
Recommendation
I think that the Big Green Pet Plus worked really well. I have no problem recommending this cleaner, as it cleaned up our toughest stain in minutes. I am giving it 5 stars.

I’ve been able to put the big green monster machine up against my 3 year old rug dr. I thought my old carpet cleaner worked great. And it did until I picked up this bissell. And man o man, this thing is truly amazing. Like literally AMAZING. From how easy it is to use(one handed) to how light it is and how it actually picks up the dirt, stains and makes my carpet feel new. No lie. My 2 young kids even said “daddy, the Capet smells great and feels super soft” after it dried up completely.
I know most big stores switched from renting out rug dr. To bissell and now I know why. The machine itself is light weight when cleaning. Not so much when taking upstairs but that’s to be expected. Tank placement is great as well. Which is stacked on top of each other. Which aids in the center weight distribution and helping the cleaning mechanism to be more focused on the front part. And I believe that’s why it helps with cleaning that much better.
I have stairs but was previously unable to clean them Due to the lack of a hose attachment that was not included with my old machine for the price. This machine comes with the hose with 2 attachments and bissell even includes a pet cleaning solution. That solution works great. I do have 2 cats and while they do not pee on carpet. They do track cat litter (not sanitary) And my kids are like wild animals some time with there messes. Now I don’t have to worry and I won’t have to clean the carpet as often. Because this machine cleans deep and thoroughly. Suction is amazing but you don’t feel it. This thing glides, I’d like to note that we suffer from allergies and right after cleaning the upstairs kids room and our master bed. We all felt less stuffy. So if you have allergies and have pets or just overall high dust in your house, Your carpet might be the main reason.
This will be a great investment.
I recommend this is you have pets and/kids or even if you don’t to be honest. You will not regret it one bit.reviews on nearly every website will tell you this. Even at retail price you will be happy you did. We are. Time to get rid of our old carpet cleaner now!
There is only one issue I thought was left out. It may not be a big deal to you. But as far as I know there isn’t a light to indicate when the clean water tank is empty like my old rug dr. So I was cleaning with headphones and maybe?! There was a sound to let me know. But I was Capet cleaning and I realized that I was not actually cleaning. So I laughed at myself. But then thought how am I supposed to know? Lol. It’s fine tho. Not any reason to not give 5 stars. I’d give 6 stars if I could , I love this so much.
Anyhow if you need this, buy this. Hands down the best on the market thus far.
Good luck and happy shopping.

This is not my first carpet cleaner. I have rented carpet cleaning machines, but condition, cleanliness and availability were an issue. Next, I got a light duty residential machine, figuring it would be enough, but it didn’t really get the carpet dry and lacked a hose attachment.
After my first time using this machine (cleaning 2 rooms, a set of dining room chairs, and a set of entry rugs in 3 hours), I will not be going back. You still need to put in the effort to prep (see my note below), but the results are great. The carpet and upholstery looked and felt clean and fresh. Floors were much dryer than the other machines I have used. I loved the results I got with the stair cleaning tool (works on chairs too) and the stain trapper (used it on a few trouble spots).
I was excited to try the cleaning attachments on my 15-year breakfast room chair seats. The big green machine worked great, eliminating most of the spots without pretreatment and brightening the color. Next, I tackled my back-entry rug. This rug has had a rough life - with more than a few accidents due to my older dog not quite making it to the backyard and dirty shoes. The machine didn’t make it new again, but combined with the included Pet Pro solution, it removed the musty odor and restored a good portion of the original color. After easily cleaning some coffee stains in the dining room, I cleaned the bedroom carpet where my dog sleeps. My dog was sick a few weeks ago and even though the carpet is good condition, it was a mess that night - even after spot cleaning with odor spray it still felt stiff and had a slight odor. The big green machine and the Pet Pro left the carpet looking almost new and eliminated the smell.
Pros
- Heavy duty construction. Toggle power switch. Sturdy handles. Thick plastics for the chassis and tanks.
- The power cord is heavy gauge with thick insulation and the 30ft length allows you to do most rooms without having to change outlets.
- Spray flow indicator helps with big jobs, because it lets you know that cleaning solution is being applied and is a great indicator that the clean water tank is empty.
- Cleaning water is applied via a trigger on the handle, which lets you decide how much to apply and allows you to make passes with suction only to dry the floor.
- The handle is comfortable to hold, reclines so you don't have to hold it at an odd angle and folds down when not in use for easier storage.
- Includes a 9ft hose and 2 attachments (stair and stain trapper tool) for cleaning spots, upholstery, and hard to reach areas (like corners or stairs). Both tools have built-in spray triggers for apply cleaning water, brushes and clear fronts so you can see the dirty water being removed.
- Separate tanks for clean and dirty water. The clean water tank is enough for 1-2 rooms and a good size for filling at the kitchen sink. The clean water tank cap doubles as a measuring cup for cleaning solution, which saves time and clean up. The dirty tank has a thick handle that lock the lid to prevent spills and a float to prevent overflow when the tank is full.
- Replaceable belt for the rotating brushes.
Things to Consider
- Cleanup is not fun, but this machine has a few features that make it easier. The brush assembly can rotate down to allow better cleaning of the underside of the machine. The dirty water tank is easy to dump and flush out with due to the larger lid. The clean water tank valve on the bottom unscrews making it easier to fully drain.
- The stain trapper tool has a small dirty water tank that allows you to see if the water being sucked up is still dirty. It works fine for small spots or items that you want to make sure are clean, but the tank makes it larger than the stair tool and you must stop often to empty it.
- Preparation and planning will make the job smoother and produce better results. You need to move furniture, clean up any solids, vacuum with a traditional vacuum to remove regular dust/dirt, and spot treat stains.
- The Bissell support website is a little hard to search thru to find content specific to the machine but has a few helpful videos on using the machine and tools along with a FAQ. One answer I found helpful is that it is normal for this machine to leave balls of carpet fibers behind (especially if it has been a long time since the carpet was last cleaned) due to the deep cleaning brushes and strong suction.
- This machine is big (it is in the name), heavy and lacks rubber bumpers. Be careful when maneuvering around furniture (I already bumped and nicked one of my bed post). The machine has good handles that are low on the body of the machine to help lift and carry it, but it is still a handful. If you need to carry it - make sure the tanks are empty, roll it as far as you can and get help. You also need to find a spot to store it and its hose/attachments (you need a space 2ft high, 2ft deep and 1ft wide with the handle folder); I park mine in my laundry room in an empty space intended for a freezer and hang the hoses on the clothes bar to dry out.

Cleans Good & Easy to Cleanup Equipment After Use

With a handful of cats we constantly get left with little surprises around the house, usually in the form of hairballs. Sometimes it’s a little messier around the litter box when someone overshoots the box or tracks something out. Hand cleaning works, but I always feel like I was just pushing the dirt further into the carpet and not really cleaning it up. I prefer something to suck the dirt and grime out of the carpet.
The cleaner came ready to go out of the box and you get a bottle of cleaning solution. One of the first things I noticed and liked about the Bissell is that it comes with a hand tool for stairs and furniture. It’s a nice option to have and not all carpet cleaners out there come with one. Another thing I noticed and really liked was that the wheels have a layer of rubber on them, so you won’t mar a wood floor as you push the machine around the house to the different rooms that need your attention.
It was easy enough to fill and mix in the cleaning solution. When you turn the machine on the brush starts turning and will keep turning until the machine is turned off. There is a button on the handle and when pressed the water/cleaning solution will be applied, but I wish the machine had separate buttons for both the brush and water for more control over the cleaning process. I would like to have the option to reduce wear on the carpet once finished agitating it when I just want to suck up fluids. While cleaning you will notice there is no light telling you the clean water tank is empty, but there is a spinning dial instead. When the dial stops spinning it means your clean water tank is empty and needs to be filled. Both tanks are sizable and hold about 1.75 gallons and the power cord is long enough for you to clean one room at a time. Suction is good and leaves the carpet slightly damp, but not overly wet. With the location of the dirty tank and the channel for suction being on top, you can easily see how much dirt you’re pulling up with each pass.
I decided to try two high traffic areas to really test the cleaner. One of the spots I had already tried a small handheld carpet cleaner on, and you could still see it was still real dirty. The first spot cleaned up nice right away and took out a water mark from an old spill. The other I had already hit with the handheld cleaner and I hit it twice more with this cleaner and was still pulling up dirt. I will need to take the cleaner to it at least once, maybe twice more to really get that spot clean, but there was a huge improvement in how clean the carpet got. Even after the second pass the cleaner was pulling up enough dirt from the carpet that there was a sizable layer of silt on the bottom of the dirty water tank. It was amazing to see just how much dirt was being pulled up. I also attached some pictures to show the before and after of these two areas.
The dirty water tank comes apart into two pieces, which makes it very easy to clean. This should keep the tank from getting foul odors in the future. It’s not a small machine, but the handle does breakdown to allow for easier storage. Overall real impressed with the machine as it does a good job cleaning our carpet.

This is a great performing carpet cleaner, but is can be difficult to store and maneuver. For large areas, it's fantastic. And while it has hoses to help vacuum small areas, stairs, car carpet, etc. its large size and weight makes getting it out for a quick clean up, a hassle.
IN THE BOX and SETUP
Luckily, the cleaner is built and ready to go, nothing to put together. Inside the box is the cleaner (with the handle folded over the body of it) the hose, and two hose attachments. The cleaning fluid that is included, can be found in the dirty water bin. Believe me, there's no way you can miss it, there are ample tags/stickers warning you where the cleaning solution is located.
As I said, the device is pre-built and there's ample stickers on the device telling you how to use it and take the water bins apart when necessary. To get it ready to go, you simply need to fold the handle back and wrap the (lengthy) power cord around the hooks on the side.
From there, to get it ready for cleaning, you simply put two caps full of cleaning solution in the bottom container, and fill it up with warm water. Then you put the clean water/solution bin back, and place the dirty water bin on top, slide the locking handle on top of the bins to secure them then you're ready to clean. If my description seems verbose or complicated, I assure you it is 100% not. This carpet cleaner is dead simple to use and understand; it's well designed.
EASE OF USE AND CLEANING PERFORMANCE
I have 2 kids and 2 cats in my home. Inevitably we have messes that require cleaning our carpet. This cleaner has a large brush in the bottom (much like a vacuum brush head), which agitates the carpet, and it injects cleaning fluid around the brush head, and a vacuum that sucks up the "dirty water." Know that when you're finished cleaning, your carpet/rug will be relatively damp.
When it's on, the cleaner is relatively easy to push around. However, it doesn't turn on a dime. In fact, it's difficult to maneuver in small spaces or corners. Again, pushing front to back is relatively easy, but small maneuvers are cumbersome because of its weight.
In the owner's manual, it's suggested that you push and hold the button on the handle when making one pass (back and forth), which releases the cleaning solution, and then make one more back and forth pass to agitate and vacuum up water. As you can see in some of the pictures I posted, you can see some cat urine that was eliminated within seconds with a couple back and forth passes. In a weird way, it was kind of fun. The carpet had a wonderful fresh and clean smell to it afterwards.
I was extremely pleased with the performance. It eliminates odors and removes stubborn stains; with relative ease. And based on the dirty water bin, it pulls up dirt your vacuum cleaner might even miss.
The hose attachments are nice and help get to hard to reach places, which to me were stairs, car carpets and edges of walls. You simply turn a little plastic door to unlock it, then place the hose inside. Then the air is sucked through the device. The cleaning bristles on the attachments work well.
MAINTAINING THE DEVICE
I’m not sure what all is necessary long term, but you do need to make sure you clean the dirty water bin after each use. It can get pretty gross and smelly. But it’s really simple, the water pours out one of the corners of the bin (and there’s nice sticker reminders showing you how to pour it out, believe me, you don’t want it to spill). A little water rinse, I used some dish soap as well, and then after letting it dry, it was ready for storage
ELEPHANT IN THE ROOM
Literally, this thing is big and heavy, which brings with it two inherent difficulties 1) storage; and 2) lugging it around. The carpets in my house are in the basement and second floor, so I necessarily have to lug it up and down stairs. It’s heavy without water, but once you put water and the cleaning solution in the bin, it gets somewhat prohibitively heavy to carry. And there's no real good way to manhandle it, the only thing to grab onto is the handle itself, but that’s problemsome because I’m always afraid it might break and it is pretty high. It’s not something that you would want to whip out frequently. At least for me, it's something I would pull out several times a year to clean all of my carpet at once (absent something dramatic happening).
Then there's storing the thing. Some people might have ample space, but for me, it's a legitimate issue. It sits in a closet in the guest room which is fine, but not ideal. Then things get placed on top of it and then it makes it more of a big deal to get it out which decreases the frequency of use.
CONCLUSION
This is a professional cleaner that performs admirably. You won't be disappointed with how well it cleans and you'll be surprised at how easy it is to operate. And it can replace expensive professional cleaning services, which can save money and provide on the spot professional grade cleaning. But the big trade-off is the size and weight. It is 40 plus pounds when full of water and bulky. It's difficult to lug up and down stairs. And it takes up a lot of storage space; which can be difficult to swallow if storage is at a premium in your home.
If I were just judging it on performance, I give it 4.5 stars. It's limited with its ability to navigate turns being its only very minor flaw. But it's hard to recommend because it seems to be for a limited audience; someone who desires having carpets cleaned frequently, doesn't mind doing the work themselves, can lift a heavy appliance up and down stairs and has ample storage space in their home.

The Bissell Big Green Pet Plus is the carpet cleaner that we’ve needed in our lives and never knew it. We’ve contemplated hiring carpet cleaners or renting a machine for a couple of years now, but we never pulled the trigger. When I had the opportunity to add the Bissell Big Green Pet Plus, I decided it was time to take the chance…so happy I took that chance too.
We have two tweens and two small dogs so there’s always action happening around our house. There are countless times that dirty shoes, filthy paws, or food has made an impact on our carpets. Of course, there’s also those moments where the dogs have gotten sick and our hand-treated areas have left the spot cleaner than the rest of the carpet or made it look worse in some respects. Well, we introduced the Bissell Big Green Pet Plus to those areas and I see a major difference.
Before I get into the usability, let’s talk about what is in the box. You have the unit itself with the cleaning solution and the user guide. Once I took it all out, the setup was pretty straightforward with the two tanks sliding into place and the directions on how to fill them. Now, let’s talk about using the Bissell Big Green Pet Plus. After filling the tanks, you plug it in and get ready to watch the magic. The directions in the manual say to hold the button and do a pass with it and then release the button and go over it again. It’s pretty easy. I performed that same process again and again over the 12 x 12 area. I also connected the hose to attack some stains on the stairs. Again, a very simple process to use and left us with great results.
Overall, I found the Bissell Big Green Pet Plus to be easy to use and lived up to the hype. Our carpet looks cleaner and it smells better too. The included formula did a great job of attacking pet stains and odors. There are some pretreatment items that you can add to the process, but I can’t speak to those. We may try them at some point, but the base solution may be all we need. When not in use, this machine collapses down nicely into a little “box-like” shape for easier storage. I think a household that is going to have carpet in high traffic areas or has a dynamic like ours would benefit greatly having the Bissell Big Green Pet Plus on hand.

The Bissell Big Green Pet Pro looks to be an incremental update to their Big Green Pro commercial grade cleaner aimed at homeowners with children and pets. The unit comes with a stair cleaner and stain trapper head along with a slightly updated aesthetic, but otherwise it looks like it’s the same Big Green professional grade cleaner.
First off, the pet cleaner solution is stored in the dirty water tank so make sure to check. The manual and. A few stickers state this. Secondly, this is an incredibly well designed unit that does an amazing job of deep cleaning carpets, as well or better than the units you rent from super markets for $50 or so per day.
As a homeowner with both young children and a cat, these kind of rug cleaners are literally invaluable. No one will volunteer this information to you but infants going through potty training do some amazingly disgusting things to carpets. We also have a cat that uses the entire basement as its litter box when it thinks it’s actual box is dirty. The rug in there is gonna go eventually for a vinyl replafement but not for a few more years. There’s a few options, you can try to scrub out the stains, leave them (gross), or address them with a rug cleaner like this green pro.
We’ve had a unit from RD for a few years and it had literally been a life and carpet saver from both toddler and pet messes. This Bissell unit is superior in every way.
1. Huge clean and dirty water tanks that stack on top of each other.
2. 2-handed operation and easy to push pull compared with competitor option.
3. 6” and stain trapping heads for stairs and hard to reach areas.
4. Awesome cleaning results and fold down storage.
This Big Green unit is super heavy but it is amazingly easy to push and pull, just make sure to release the handle to give you that horizontal leverage.
Anyone who has pets or kids will definitely appreciate this commercial level clean at home for a relatively low price. If you use it 3-4x a year for 3-4 years it will pay for itself!!!
