Out of the box only 3 lights were working. Called into Bissell & a new Head was ordered, FedEx delivered to wrong address and another call into Bissell for another one to be ordered. Now this head is not working correctly, debating on calling into Bissell again or just returning it.

It does its job but what isn’t great is having to scrape the dirt from the canister into the trash with a stick or hangar. What you see in the pic is a separate compartment that the dirt gets trapped in

Our family has existed with cordless vacuum cleaners, 2 cats and a dog for many years. While I knew the corded Bissell Allergen vacuum would do a better job than our old 20v cordless it still blew those expectations out of the water. On low pile carpets and rugs if you pull it backwards diagonally the suction is so strong that you can feel the lateral resistance of the pile. Attached to this review is the result of vacuuming 3 small rugs - one hallway runner, one 4'x6' and a runner for our back door. It is an *incredible* amount of dirt. It almost filled the entire canister. The power in the brushes also completely restored the "fluff" of even a low pile rug that I was convinced would n ever be back to its former self. On top of all of this - the design of the vacuum is commendable. I did not have to look at any documentation to fit the pieces in the appropriate spots including the stowage of spare parts, wands, hose. It's easy to quickly move from upright to wand to pet roller - and they all come with you when you remove the canister from the main floor roller. Despite all of the dirt in the pictures, there was not one hint of a smell of dander or dirt that kicked up in the air. When they say it's HEPA sealed, they mean it. Our cordless battery vacuum was marketed towards pet hair but would quickly saturate and stink up the air. Not the greatest. My one apprehension is with the vacuum motor and canister lifting off, it really tempts you to place it upright on the stairs when it might be best to place it horizontally for this type of cleaning. The "turbo roller" tiny attachment does a good job (obviously not quite as good as the powered roller) cleaning the carpet tiles on our stairs. The other flaw is that there is no retractable cord in this model. From the compactness of the rest of the design though I think there is wisdom in this decision as an assembly to contain a spring and button would have likely taken out one of the two accessory anchor points, which would have made it far less versatile. BestBuy had my order ready for pick up before I was ready to head out the door after ordering.

This vacuum sucks--and that is meant as a complement! Truly, this vacuum has changed the manner in which I go about my cleaning routine in my home. First of all, I have found that it really does just seem to clean my carpet more thoroughly than my previous vacuum this is replacing. To test this, I used my previous vacuum over a section of my plush living room carpet and then followed up by using my new Bissell CleanView vacuum. To my delight, I actual had additional dirt and hair in the vacuum canister that I know that my previous vacuum wouldn't have gotten to. On the handle, the vacuum has an adjustment for bare carpet to plush carpet to modify how much suction the vacuum is employing. This seemed to assist in applying the right amount of suction to the different sections of flooring I vacuum, thus cleaning more thoroughly. I am absolutely in love with how this beast handles hair. It is not pet hair that actually convinced me to want to go with this vacuum, but my girlfriend's hair. She has long, curly hair and sheds like a husky. On my previous vacuum cutting all of the hair off the vacuum brush turned into a monthly chore. With this CleanView vacuum, it just all piles neatly into the canister and dumps easily into the trash when emptying the canister. I am really enjoying the lift off feature of the vacuum canister. It is really nice to leave behind the heavy, cumbersome vacuum head and walk around my furniture and drapes with only the handle and the vacuum canister. Talk about convenient! As a word of caution, I will say that while this vacuum is powerful, it is not as nimble or as easy to maneuver as some vacuums. It has difficulty turning sharply and corning in tight spaces. The vacuum is small enough to fit under low objects like beds and between tight spaces, just not easy to control once you are there. I would say if someone has wrist or shoulder issues, they should probably avoid this vacuum altogether as it does require a rather firm hand to maneuver. Speaking to the allergen reduction abilities of this vacuum, in some research that I did, it does appear that this vacuum employs appropriate micron-size filters to handle the majority of allergens that pile up on carpets and surfaces from pets and plants alike. If you or a loved one in the home suffer from allergies, this would be an excellent choice to investigate. Overall, I am highly pleased with my new vacuum. While it may not be as nimble or as light as some, it does such an excellent job cleaning and is so convenient with the lift off feature that I feel it will remain a great choice for most!

THE BREAKDOWN: This Bissell Upright vacuum hits a lot of the targets you want in a vacuum. This vacuum is very flexible if you have a home that has many different flooring types. I personally have 90 percent hardwood and 10 percent carpet with 2 dogs. Overall, this product performed very well on all surfaces. It is lightweight and has options for maneuverability. Right out of the box it was simple and easy to use. The setup was very simple and fast. I have used this vacuum extensively over the last few weeks even through a carpet to hardwood floor transition. There were pieces of the flooring throughout the house. I found that the vacuum performed very well. A few things to not is that once I was vacuuming up some flooring debris at the end of the day and noticed that it was picking up quite as good as normal on the current hardwood flooring. I discovered that the brush was not on, once I turned the brush on it picked up the debris not problem. I found it interesting that the brush had to be on in order to get all of the debris on hardwood flooring. The light design made this vacuum easy to use. I love the rubber feel of the housing around the brush head and the wheels. When you bump into a wall or something it doesn’t leave a mark or sound like you cracked your vacuum. I have one rug that has longer carpet pieces on it and the Plush Carpet feature really helped it to move better on the rug. The lights are one of my favorite features of this vacuum. You do not know how much hair and dirt are on your floor until you see it with the lights on this vacuum. I was surprised the first time I used this machine. Emptying the canister could have been though out a little more in my opinion as you have the top button to remove it from the machine and then to dump you have to push the button on the bottom of the canister getting dust and debris on you sometimes. I think the button to dump should be the one that releases it from the vacuum itself. The noise level is average as far as vacuums go. I didn’t really notice that it was louder or quitter than previous vacuums that I have owned. One last thing to mention is the power cord. The cord is long which is good, but it is made of stiff like material and is not very malleable. That is just a personal preference. PRO’s: -Fast easy installation -Had all the necessary parts to install -Nice lights -Low or Plush Carpet settings -Can remove the canister and hose from the base CON’s: -Button to empty canister is on the bottom -Cord is stiff -Without brush on it doesn’t get everything SUMMARY: Overall, this product worked well and as intended, and I would recommend this to a friend if they are in the market for device like this.

BISSELL - CleanView® Allergen Lift-Off® Pet Vacuum Bissell’s Upright vacuum manages to cover all of our cleaning chores with a very flexible design, that combines power with convenience, at a nice price. We’ve got a mix of floors, 80% split pretty evenly between carpet and hardwood, with 20% tile in the bathrooms. The Bissell can easily manage the brushed hair that ends up clinging to the carpets or throw rugs, the shed fur from our visiting cat, and the crumbs that escape the table tops. There’s no learning curve to master its simple feature set, so everyone can participate on cleaning day. In actual use, we found it easy to maneuver the Bissell anywhere from the typical back-and-forth vacuum sweep to squeezing it under furniture. The head has a low profile and bright LEDs so you can see what you’re doing. There is some weight in the body of the vac, so controlling it at the lowest angles takes more effort, but it’s not excessive. SETUP . . . Or assembly in the case of this Bissell. Not much more than align, push, click. I never looked at the instructions and it was together in a few minutes. Disconnecting the hose so the smaller Pet Turbo Eraser, or dusting brush/crevice tool can be attached is quick and easy. It’s all easier to do than to describe. Bottom line, the Bissell is pretty flexible and can accommodate floor cleaning, stairs, drapery or high shelves with very little fuss. SOUND LEVEL: Adding to typical home noise (44dB), the Bissell averaged around 75dB peaking to 77dB. This is the level of a loud conversation or street traffic. This was measured using an uncalibrated iPhone App. The pitch (frequency) of the noise could get a bit annoying. SURFACE TYPES: The Bissell ClearView isn’t very picky about floor type. Hardwood is very easy and dust or grit disappears quickly. I’m never sure what’s happening in my carpets, but the debris in the clear canister offers ongoing proof that some serious cleaning is happening. In fact, the Bissell excels on any type of carpet or rug, or fabric covered furniture. The swivel-head, floor brush roller covers a 13” path. The unique roller is designed to discourage hair getting tightly tangled and wrapped around it. In this time of COVID, we’re doing far more hair trimming that ever before. The vacuumed hair with our new Bissell always ended up either in the canister or on the brush, and never tightly wrapped around the roller ends which happened too frequently with our older vac. We thought the end result of vacuuming, when either cat or my wife’s lengthy hair was the target, was a success. The 7 Amps of suction is always available and the bagless system doesn’t slow anything down. We never felt the need for more power. EMPTY CANISTER and FILTER CHANGE: The good news? NO BAGS. The bad news? You will want to monitor and CHANGE OUT FILTERS. Emptying the canister was a two step process: release from the vacuum with one button press; bring to trash bag and push the bottom release button, letting gravity do the rest. No bags to replace, ever. You can remove and wash the pre-filters. You should replace the post-motor filter every 6 months, but it looks like you can simply tap-to-clean or lightly brush off as needed between replacements. Don’t wash it. SUMMARY: Our Bissell is simple to use, and very effective at cleaning. It can manage several different cleaning tasks. Pet hair is its specialty. The unique tangle-free roller and the thoughtful clean-out design makes the post-vacuuming process less cumbersome. The powerful motor, well engineered filter system, attractive design, and suite of extra features usually come with a heftier price tag. This is an easy vac to recommend.

Unboxing experience was excellent - a two minute intuitive click/snap had the unit up & running. Having two longhair dogs & a cat, was anxious to see the performance. I currently own another manufacturer's "pet" vacuum, but its performance was underwhelming. Starting in the high traffic area of the living room rug, it was immediately apparent this vac means business. I did an area of about 500 sq feet (living room & master bedroom), and already had the canister half full of fluff. Carpet was left with a nice fluff, and best of all, at least to me, no scent. My other pet vac has a Febreze infused filter which I really don't care for. Doing some quick research on replacements, I see you have options, so if you want the scented filter, they're available. This model features a lift off operation which is great for doing stairs, drapes or high places. It's well designed & snaps on & off with minimal effort. I was kind of surprised at the heft of the unit given it's cost. While weight is usually a good indicator of build quality, it can also be a bit cumbersome in tight places such as reaching under high sofas or chairs. It's a trade off - do you want powerful cleaning or light weight? With multiple animals, I'll take the power. Of course, the other selling feature of a pet vacuum is the accumulation & tangling of hair in the power brush. Have to say the Clean View comes through in that department - after my first thorough vacuuming, the roller was pretty much tangle free. So far, I'm pretty impressed with the performance. Having had pets my entire life, I've gone through many vacuums that were twice the cost and half the performance.

Simply The Best Vacuum I Have Ever Owned

This Bissell Pet Vacuum is a terrific product. Finally, I own a vacuum that actually can suck up dirt and pet hair. Right out of the box this vacuum is easy to put together. A simple set of instructions has you attach the hose, snap the unit together, and mount a few on board tools. The vacuum can be used on hardwood or carpeted floor and the transition is done by simply flipping a switch that you can reach while vacuuming making the transition both fast and smooth. The suction is first class. The beater bar works amazingly well and has a no tangle feature so that you won't be cutting threads off the beater brush. You can hear the vacuum picking up the dirt on the carpet. The upright vacuum pivots easily as it rolls extremely well on both carpets and hardwood flooring. We love that it doesn't have a bag and all the hassle that comes with that. The dirt and pet hair simply goes into a canister and with a press of your finger it detaches and can be emptied into your trash. The vacuum comes with a brush, crevice tool, and a powered stair turbo brush. That little brush is quite impressive in it's own right. Added features include an LED on board light and the detachable hose which allows you to reach high/low and hard to reach dirt areas with your attachments. The noise level is about standard for a stand up vacuum and I find the build quality to be very good. Bissell has a history of good products and they made a good vacuum here. I am also happy to own products of businesses that support causes near and dear to me and Bissell does that with pet cause contributions.

We got this to replace our 10yo Kenmore vacuum and it hasn't disappointed. It pulls up alot of pet hair! Its not very heavy and rolls easily. Also the light on it really bright if that matters to you. My only complaints are the cord seems a little short and the on, off buttons would be better off on the handle instead of the side of the machine otherwise I would have given it 5 stars. Overall pleased with the purchase.

I needed a new vacuum to use on both hardfloors and carpet. I wanted an upright vacuum, after owning a stick one, with a larger canister and features/attachments that allowed me to pickup debris in hard to reach areas and upholstery. YouTube had me convinced that I needed to spend $400-$800 on a good vacuum, but I took a chance on this one mainly because it was on sale. It meets all of my expectations and makes cleaning my 2-story house less stressful! My favorite accessory is the Pet TurboErasser tool. The LED lights are also helpful. I’m truly impressed with the amount of dirt, dust and pet hair it sucks up! My family is prone to allergies, so the HEPA filter was an important feature while looking at different models. It’s not cumbersome to maneuver, although I do wish the cord was longer! Overall, I’m highly satisfied with my purchase.

Once the decision was made to replace our 30+ year old canister vacuum (which still worked, but was showing its age) I checked out many vacuums and vacuum reviews before settling on this one. It met just about all of my criteira - great suction, lighter weight, removable wand, beater brush that turns off when you use the wand, no bags and a great price. I have only had it for about a month, but I have been very satisfied with its performance. After using it the first time, I had to empty the dirt collection tank several time before I had even finished vacuuming the first floor! Truly a testament to how great the suction is on this vacuum. The lift off part has been a game changer when vacuuming the stairs or furniture at my home. The light has been instrumental in seeing just how much hair our short hair dog actually sheds throughout the house. (A lot more than I had ever thought!!) This would be the perfect vacuum if it had a beater brush that prevented long hair/string from wrapping about it, but it is not difficult to remove by hand. I can also say that it takes up less space to store than my older canister vacuum.

I purchased this as a replacement for an existing Bissell vac I had. I liked that it's easy to set up and everything connected without any issues. The weight of the vacuum is decent. it's easy to push and pull without straining yourself. i loved that it has the lift-off base. I've used it twice and found it easy to remove and carry. It snaps on easily. The dust cup is easy to remove as well. The only cons I found were that the cord was a tad shorter than my other vac and the dust cup isn't removable. That being said you can always take a paper towel to remove any excess dust collected in the cup. The suction is great and the hose is easy to use as well. I liked that it has lights at the front base and isn't very loud. It works well when picking up large and small items such as kitty litter or cat food.

Great vacuum! Powerful suction, easy to clean out, and handling when using it normally is extremely maneuverable. The one big issue i have with it is when using the hose and hand tools. That hose is not that long and stretchable so you basically have to carry the vacuum in one while using the hose in the other or the whole unit gets pulled over onto its side anytime you need to reach a little with the hand tool. I would like to have seen this vacuum come with an extension hose and a couple more options for hose attachments like a flat and wide piece for more surface area on hardwood floors

Best Vacuum I’ve ever had. I have asthma and a rabbit and a cat, it can get sneezy in my home quickly. I was thoroughly impressed and disgusted with how much it picked up. And it picks up everything! Really practical design, easier for me to lug around as I’m not very strong. Love the light as well for going over wood and tile.

It works really well on carpet, wood, and tile. The pet attachment is an awesome tool to have handy, especially when you have two cats and a dog like I do. I did a lot of research on different models of vacuums, but was hesitant to buy any due to reviews mentioning some kind of malfunction after a few months (i.e. belts breaking, the motor catching on fire, etc.). I'm thankful I found this one on sale AND that the reviews were good with little complaints. I love you can switch it to carpet or regular flooring suction. The attachments are easy to use and work great too. If you treat this vacuum with care, it will be your friend! Make sure to follow the cleaning instructions and it will work just as great as the first time you used it.
