    The smell is pretty strong, you val definitely tell the carpet was cleaned after using it because of the smell. The cleaning strength is okay, not impressive.

    I could not answer your question when I purchased I bought a Hardwood Bissell not a Rug which I have purchase and I expect to use it in 10 days
