  • Simple Coffee Maker

    I was looking for the simple coffee maker that looked decent. I ended up selecting this Black & Decker model because the brewing system was better designed than other low-end units (sprinkles via a 'shower head' onto a reusable coffee filter). It heats up the water amazingly fast, so really pleased by it! Why only a good review? Well it lacks two important features many people will likely want: Auto-shut off and a warmer / burner. Meaning the water chamber will continue to be heated until you turn it off. Is there a fail-safe that will cut the power if it starts melting? No clue. The bright blue LED on the unit and the speed of brewing mean i'll never need to leave it unattended. The other is the lack of a warmer burner for the crafe, this shocked me. But I kind of dig the better energy efficiency and lack of PFAS (non-stick) in my house. So not really a big negative for me, for others? Could be an issue if you're looking to brew and enjoy warm coffee slowly over a few hours.

    I like this coffee pot, it is small and doesn’t take up a lot of space. It allows you to make just one cup or multiple cups. The only thing I don’t like about this is there is not heating plate to keep the coffee hot until you’re ready to drink it; although I drink mine right after it finishes brewing so it doesn’t bother me.

    pleased with the coffeemaker and it makes great coffee. Like that you can make it also with tumbler or mug. Only drawback (and I apparently didn't read it thoroughly) is the fact that it doesn't have a keep-warm element, so that when it finishes brewing it starts to cool down. I have learned how to cope with this and we start our morning with delicious coffee. '

    Very basic function but it does its job well. Since there is no warmer on the bottom, I would recommend to use the included stainless travel mug to keep the coffee warm. Actually the mug is the beat part of this product.

    As coffee pots go, this is a good one for the price. I bought this for my mom because of it's ease of operation. It could be a little hotter, but it's ok.

    This is perfect for two large cups of coffee, or about three good sized "smalls." I think the 5 cup capacity may mean 6-8oz of small cups. Anyway, it is easy to use, clean, makes coffee quickly and with a reusable mesh filter.

    This coffeepot has worked really good for traveling to those hotels that do not provide an in-room coffeepot. There is nothing like having hot coffee in your room without having to leave your room to go to the other end of the hotel for coffee.

    I really like the design of the coffeemaker, but you have to drink the coffee immediately as it has no warmer base. The coffee will get cold if you leave it sit.

    I bought this hoping it would be a good replacement for my old coffee pot. I was sadly dissapointed in the performance of this unit. It constantly keeps making a mess and throwing the grounds into the coffee pot below. No matter how much or how little grounds I use, the machine always overflows in the basket and forces the grounds in the pot. I would not recommend this, go with something a little more costly.

    I like it because only two of us in the family drink coffee and it makes two large mugs and a little more for a refill. It does not have a warmer on the base, so coffee won't sit and get that burned taste.
