Black Lagoon is about a businessman named Rokuro Okajima who goes on what was supposed to be a business trip, but ends up becoming a nightmare when a group of "pirates" takes him hostage for a data disc that he has in his posession. After everything blows over (don't want to give away too much, the details are funny though....), Rokuro ends up joining the group of pirates, and is later given the nickname Rock. The rest of the series goes from there to show the adventures that "Rock" has with his new "co-workers" in the pirate world. I would definately recommend this to anyone who likes a lot of action and comedy (which wouldn't leave too many people out, I'd hope....). The animation is pretty good, and by the way..... you'll love how they solve the problem they have with an enemy near the end of the DVD.......:). Black Lagoon is a nice DVD to have in your collection, and you won't be disappointed with it.

WARNING! Adult content and a lot of cursing. This film is not for children. If you're looking for good animation, this is it. It is a very good modern day pirate series with lots of action and shooting. If you're into anime, this series is for your library. The first 3 disc are for sale but the production company, Geneon, has pulled this product and other films from the United States market. Hopefully, the other chapter will be released in the coming month(s). G4 is suppose to air the series soon.

Black Lagoon, by far, is the most interesting shoot 'em up anime since Cowboy Bebop. While it may not have the intricate character development like Bebop, the maniacal team of outlaws totally make this anime worth it. It's a fun series. And there's a little added bonus! The poor sap who gets sucked into the black lagoon has the same voice actor as a certain gundam pilot. :D

From the first episode, this show had me hooked. Great action, cool guns, etc. Managed to get the first season, now just waiting on the second.
