An underrated '70s classic

Owned for 7 months when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Wow - why is Black Sunday not regarded in the same breath as Seconds, The Manchurian Candidate, or Seven Days in May? Like those other John Frankenheimer pictures, this is a bracing political thriller, and one that goes places we're not expecting; the great Bruce Dern gives a chilling performance as an American suicide bomber who's equal parts violent and vulnerable. And that ending setpiece! Just an incredible piece of filmmaking.
