    BlackSite: Area 51

BlackSite: Area 51 is a fun game, the storyline is good and in depth. The graphics are also good, but there are A LOT of glitches in this game, in fact it almost seems that there was not a lot of bug testing done for this game. You start the game in Iraq trying to find a WMD and then a few years later there is an alien infestation in Nevada that your team was called in for specifically, even the doctor that was helping you in Iraq. As you play through the story unfolds with some twists and turns. This game, like most FPS games now, is very short. There are not a very big variety of weapons to choose from and really not a huge variety of enemies either. I would say this would be a great game to get if it were $20.00 or under, as of this review it is not that low though.

Blacksite: Area 51 is a fps (first person shooter). The name "area 51" was not just made up. It is based off a real place in Nevada, U.S. ( south of groom lake ). There have been many suspisions of alien life there because of how the area is deserted. And that's where this game comes in. As in real life, it is a secretive place where there have been UFO suspisions. As I do not want to spoil the story, long story short: the graphics are amazing, the gameplay is pretty suprizingly good although you may hit a gltich everynow and then but not as many as some people say. The story somewhat real-life based keeps you on the edge of your seat the whole way through the game. The constant action and dark levels keep the suspense up. The squad tactics are O.K but you have to command them to go somewhere or theyll just follow you. The multiplayer part though isn't too well populated but you can find a game if you wait maybe a minute. Also the campaign is short and sweet (6 levels) maybe taking an hour each depending on difficulty. Overall this game is worth the money and if you can find a group of friends with it, the multiplayer is entertaining too. I would reccommend this to anyone who isnt looking for a solid multiplayer experience.

I was surprised to see how many "bad" reviews I've seen for this game. I've had this game 24 hours as of today and I can tell you I have been having a lot of fun in single player and online. I purchased Halo 3 on launch day for the hype (never played halo 1 or 2) and I have not touched it since. I played it about 4 hours and has been collecting dust since. Blacksite Area 51 has held my attention and is a fun game play to play. It is easier than Halo 3 which I take as a positive thing because I'm not "great" a FPS to begin with. The story line doesn't bombard you with cinematic and cuts straight to the game play. The "cinematic" equivalent in this game you still have control over your player. Already I've seen a variety of game play from running around to driving jeeps to riding in helicopters. The graphics using unreal 3 engine look amazing! The online play is more diverse with player skill level than Halo 3. I was playing CTF for several hours last night and was in par with everyone else. When I play CTF on halo 3, I'm lucky to stay alive more than 12 seconds :) If you're an extreme hardcore gamer and like immersive story telling, cinematic, and puzzles, this may not be for you. But if you're like me that like a good FPS single player and online play with a good clean story line without the extra novel storytelling, sit though cinematic, etc. I'd highly recommend this game! This may not be as hard or in depth as halo 3, but it certainly is FUN which (for me) is the deciding factor to purchase a game.

Overall it's not a bad game in terms of graphics and intensity but the storyline wasnt built up enough to turn this into an epic game. There are only about 5 or 6 weapons for you to choose from in your arsenal. The game itself is extremely short. It took me about 5 hours to complete it. There are also only about 5 or 6 villains in the game not counting the tank like enemies. If your looking for a shooter that is long, challenging and intense I'd suggest Halo 3, Call of Duty 4 or the Orange Box (all the Half Life 2 episodes themselves are loner than Halo 3). The original Area 51 for Playstation 2 and Xbox is better if you want to pick between the two. It kinda stinks too but it's better than Blacksite.

This game is a 1 person shooter...it is very surprising but its not a long game like...COD4 for an example. It has only a few guns. The game made me want to stay in my chair for a long time! If you are a person that loves WAR GAMES..I wouldnt recommend this...but if u like alien type games like Halo 1,2, and 3, i would recommend this. There is war in the begginning but not in the middle or end...Hope this helps you on your search!

You don't get a lot with this game compared to Halo 3. The graphics are ok, but the campaign sucks. It has a horrble, unfinished ending. You don't get that many weapons to choose from nor can you double weild 2 guns. There were no alines in the game. The story line had nothing to do with the prequal to this game or anything to do with Area 51 period. It is just a game based on top military expieraments to make a better soldier gone wrong. The game was just sad and a huge disappointment from the first game. Area 51 was a lot better of a game that had 16 levels than this game, which this one is short 10. Plus, you were a mutant and could shoot contagion from your hands, not in this one. The online is also disappointing. You have to host a game just to play a game. Not only that, but you can't invite friends to play. Your friends would have to search you out just to find your hosted game. There arn't that many maps. Also, this game has bits and pieces of other games in it. Online you get invisability and health boost like in Halo 3. Your health turns red like in Call Of Duty 3 and in Gears. The soldiers look more like the soldiers in Gears. The snipper riffel isn't that good for long distance shooting and takes time to get use to in this game. All in all I wouldn't recommend spending $60 for this game. This game should be priced at $30. I think that Midway could have put more effort into this game in making it better like they did with Area 51, but I feel as if they slacked off with this one. I hate to say this, but Midway hasn't been doing that well when it comes to video games lately. Their games have been terrable these past years. I think that Midway should make Area 51 for the 360 and re put that game back on the shelves before they lose their shirts with this game.

this game is poor at best. Honestly, it would have been a failure for the first xbox... the gameplay is just plain sad. i went from playing call of duty 4 on vet(and beat it) to this, and it still took an entire clip to kill two guys when shooting them in the head. the controls dont feel right and online is boring. do yourelf a favor and run as fast as you can away from this waste of $60
