Did you ever wonder if Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid did die in that hail of bullets in Bolivia? Well, here is a story that gives another life to that tale in this 2011 western with the title role played by Sam Shepard. Interesting main plot of revenge and betrayal, that has nothing to do with Butch or Sundance, but their characters and what happens to them are spelled out as kind of a secondary plot line to main plot, which could have any savvy gunslinger as the lead.

The story centers around outlaw Butch Cassidy who did not die and living in Bolivia under the name James Blackthorn. He is older now, and pines to get one last look at home. Needless to say things do not go according to plan.

This is one of the best westerns I've seen in a long time with a fabulous twist in the end - Sam Shepard is as cool as they come playing Butch Cassidy - Don't miss this one - won't give any of the plot away, just know this is a fun one

Not your Fathers western. Largely unknown cast does a good job

I enjoy Sam Shepard movies, I am a Western movie fan and collect movies that I like when I find them.

This tale of an aging-exiled American outlaw and his attempts to return home may seem a bit straightforward and tame, but in the end it's not and you'll be glad to have spend the hour and forty-five minutes partaking in this latest great example of the genre.

Movie was OK but not as good as I expected. I like Sam Shephard as an actor and he was fine in the movie. However, the premise never actually occurred.

Some decent action. I like westerns. Not enough of them are made anymore. I liked the story & even though it was a little slow, it was worth the money.

If you like Westerns, you should check this movie out. Well acted, good story.
