Ichigo has been able to see souls of the departed since he was a boy.......but never did he imagine that this thing he viewed as a curse would take him on a quest far beyond the imagination and even into the Soul Society. I began watching the series Bleach on Adult Swim on Cartoon Network. I started at about episode 17 and have been hooked ever since. The problem was, I never knew how the series started! I recieved "Bleach: The Substitute Season One Box set" for a birthday gift. The packaging is extremely nice and the dvds are packaged in book-style which slips into a sleeve. The set includes 20 episodes as well as extra features like Japanese and English language choices, behind the scenes and production art. I'll have to say, now that I've seen the beginning, it all makes sense now! Bleach has got to be one of the best Animes out there....full of humor, suspense and a cliffhanging awe that makes you want to see each and every episode!

Bleach is one of those shows that's good for a first time anime watcher. It has an interesting plot line, and so many characters that you're bond to find one you can relate to. Also It's funny and serious moments are spread out enough to leave you laughing, gasping, and on the edge of your seat through each episode. The only thing I hate about Bleach or anime in general, is that it's hard to find a copy chillen in your local Walmart. I'm a small town girl and it's a pain to always go to the city to buy anime. So the internet is an awesome place to buy, and on top of that Best Buy offers you membership deals!

Bleach is one of the best anime series out there, and it is cumbersome to collect each individual dvd that comprises Season 1. Not only is each DVD included in the set from 'The Substitute,' but the cover art found in the individual DVDs are included as dividers in the box set. On top of that, mine came with a 'soul-chain' wallet chain and a double-sided poster featuring Ichigo on one side and concept art on the reverse. The only thing I felt that stood out as flawed was 'The Substitute's' price tag. Their target audience is generally older teens that simply don't have $70 to shell out on a dvd set. Though it's a great buy, I think the set needs to have a much more standart TV-season price, say $40 - $50. Can't wait to get Season 2: The Entry!

I love the show, and the collection and all the little details in it are great.
