Due to the blunt nature of the "blades", don't have to worry about the blades becoming dull and losing effectiveness over time. It blends just about anything, and well. It doesnt have any programmed modes like a simple Smoothie setting, but there are charts available on their website to manually change speeds after so many seconds. With such an expensive blender, I'm fine doing this to save 100 dollars and the unit itself is identical otherwise.

It blends everything really well to make a nice smooth drink. Haven't tried using it to make other things other than smoothies and a shake, but so far so good!

It is worth every penny I spent. Ice...what about it? Huge chunks of frozen fruit...bring it on! Worried about texture...baby, I'm as smooth as it comes. Yeah, this blender is like $300, but it really is worth the money. Built like a tank, and straightforward to use. it can't get much better than that.
