I had deal with cámaras system that requires payments for membership, but this camara has the external memory that save your videos without paying membership! I love it!! the quality is great and sound too. It doesn’t need wires, it’s functional with batteries! Easy to use in the app and how to watch the memory videos. Easy also to download then too.

I already own another Blink device for my front door, had some kids messing with our back yard so we decided to get another cam. This product works as described, the process of adding it to the app and getting it ready was as simple as 1,2,3. I my self am very happy with it.

I'm in love with the way they updates this camera I have two of the old ones and the wideness of the view is shorter than this one. I can see more around the space and the quality is much better.

I love that I can see what's going on even though I may not be home. I get to come home and watch some interesting clips sometimes, like a family of raccoons and a cat peeing on my car wipers. Darn cat's pee rusted metal of the wipers.

Bought 4 Blink cameras including the doorbell. The cameras aren't as attentive to human alerts as sometimes they would miss people. Also, trying to look at the cameras live take longer than expected. I have pretty stront WiFi actually upgraded so that the cameras can load faster but it didnt make a difference. Perhaps Blink's server isn't as strong but I wish it had better viewing speed and human alerts.

    Ingeniously simple Smart Security Camera!

The Blink Outdoor 4 is a 4th generation battery-powered smart security camera that leverages the lifespan of Lithium AA batteries, camera technology and Wi-Fi with an app and cloud-based server infrastructure to provide an ingeniously simple Security system that extended to many devices beyond this one simple outdoor wireless system. The system comes with the Outdoor 4 camera, 2 AA sized lithium batteries, a sync module, a power block and cable for the sync module, a mount and right-angle adapter that also doubles as a screwdriver (to loosens the screw for the Battery compartment) a set of mounting screws and a quick start guide. The key features of this 4th generation camera are: - Two-Year battery life - Runs for up to two years on two included AA lithium batteries. - Day + Night HD View – See more of what’s happening with a wider field of view (143 degrees), low-light image sensor, and infrared night vision. - Two-way Audio – Hear and speak to people and pets with crisp audio. - Enhanced Motion Detection - Catch events quickly with dual-zone motion detection alerts. - Person Detection – Know when a person is detected with embedded computer vision (CV) as part of an optional Blink Subscription Plan (sold separately – but this kit has a 30-day free trial with no credit card needed included. - The device works with Amazon Alexa (Blink was acquired by Amazon in 2017). - The sync module contains a USB-A type port that can be used with a flash drive (up to 256 GB - not included) to store data locally and you can avoid the monthly subscription for cloud storage – but you also lose some benefits – such as real time viewing of the cameras. I am impressed with the Blink Outdoor 4 system. Set up is quick and easy and can be done very quickly via the use of QR codes. This follows a typical process of downloading the associated app from your app store, creating an account, and then adding your sync module followed up by the camera to the system. Each sync module can have up to 10 devices attached though it. The system having a sync module does a few things – it “camera battery life, saves clips without a subscription, improves convenience for scheduling, and arms a group of devices at once.” The downside is the need to have an always-on Wi-Fi connection (2.4 GHz Wi-Fi internet connection with at least 2 MB per second of upload speed (from your network to the internet) for the system to be used. This is good in a home use situation but is less advantageous when using the system with an RV or camping trailer setup where one may not have access to such capabilities. I am glad to see that this system can run in a subscription free mode, however you do lose a lot of capability doing so – such as real-time viewing and the two-way audio capability. Overall, this is a great design for security cameras and there are plenty of YouTube videos I have seen that can help you get the most out of your system. Pros: Functionality, local storage option Cons: Always on Wi-Fi connection needed

A good, basic, camera system for those on a budget

A few years ago, if you wanted security cameras around your home, you had to shell out a lot of money for a wired system with a dedicated DVR, and usually pay someone to put wires from the cameras to the DVR through your home. Not something many people want to fool with. Fast forward, and more affordable wireless cameras hit the scene, and Blink is one of the more popular (and inexpensive) ones. Blink cameras are basic compared to some other systems, but still very useful for the price. Wireless cameras can cost upwards of a couple of hundred dollars or more for elaborate systems, but Blink cameras are much more affordable and regularly go on sale. They don’t quite offer all of the same thrills as those that cost more, but they are excellent as a detection system that lets you know when someone is messing around the outside (or inside) of your home, and in good lighting, now produce good video clips as well. The 4th generation here, has expanded the field of view to 143 degrees, which is wider than the last generation which was 110 degrees – so you get more into the picture/video side-to-side, though it will bow a bit at the edges due to the wide field of view. Setup is pretty simple… you download the Blink app and sign up, plug in and connect the “Blink Module” to your WiFi (this acts as a hub, that your camera connect to wirelessly), and then via the app, add your devices before placing them where you’d like outside (or in). They run off of AA Lithium batteries (included), and it’s important to note that you should NOT use regular AA alkaline batteries in these, as they’ll drain very quickly. AA Energize Lithium batteries are readily available online and in some stores, and with average but not excessive use, can last up to two years in each camera. Once set up and positioned properly, you’re set. Included mounts allow you to pop the cameras on via an adapter on the back of them, but other more secure mounts are available online with covers and cases to protect them better as well. They are very weather resistant, but if you add a case to it, it helps protect them even more. By default, the cameras will detect motion when they sense it and send a notification to your phone, and with the app you can view the clips. This 4th generation has added person detection which if you enable, will only alert you if it detects a person (something previous generations do not do). You can customize the length of the clips along with a variety of other settings like setting up areas where the cameras won’t detect motion at all, change the clarity of the videos, turn notifications on and off temporarily (or the cameras on and off altogether), and much more. You don’t need to subscribe to a cloud based video clip storage subscription in order to save clips, as you can use a USB drive plugged into the Blink Module to store clips on, but I do notice more delays in storage and playback using this method. If you swing a subscription for $3 per month (or $30 per year per camera) per month, your clips will be stored for X-days in the cloud, and this works more quickly, plus keeps your videos off-site so if you have a fire or someone somehow breaks in and steals the hub, your clips are still safe. The person detection feature is also only available with a subscription. You can subscribe to the “Plus” storage plan for $10 per month or $100 per year and connect multiple devices to your plan for storage. You can also download saved clips to your phone or tablet if needed when subscribed to either. I’ve used the third generation of Blinks for some time. This forth generation again, promises a wider field of view compared to the last generation (true), a few more customizations in the settings (true), and better image quality (welllllll, not really). In decent to good light, the latest generation puts out very good video clips that are clear (1080p-ish, but quite compressed), just like the last one. Night vision however, still suffers quite a bit. Night clips are still quite fuzzy, black and white, and not very appealing, though again, even at night at the very least it still makes you aware of motion in a covered area, so you’re alerted. It’s too soon to compare battery life, but the claims of up to two years by Blink are the same. Of note, battery life is subjective… if you put one of these in a very heavily used area (kids, pets, etc) and it records dozens of clips per day, you’re definitely not going to get two years out of the batteries. If you put one of these let’s say on the side of your home, the driveway, in the garage, etc., where it gets less traffic, then battery life will be greatly increased. You can also tinker with battery life by adjusting how long or short the video clips are, their quality, etc. In mid to late October 2023, Blink is going to sell a battery extender that clamps on to the back of the Blink 4 units that doubles battery life, essentially, so look for those. Overall this latest generation of Blinks is still very good. No, they don’t compare to very expensive cameras, but they keywords here are, “for the price”, they offer quite a bit of security for what you’re paying for. You get decent, wider, videos than the previous generation, although slight delays in getting notifications hasn’t changed since then. Also of note, some area police departments are so overwhelmed with false security system alarms, that some of them actually will avoid answering calls if that’s all you have going off, unless you can verify someone is messing around (with a camera, etc). So having at least a couple of these up outside and at least one inside, does give you the opportunity to verify if someone is lurking around, increasing your chances of help arriving quickly (or at all). If you’re on a budget, I do recommend Blink as an additional layer to any decent security system setup around your home.

The Blink Camera is a solid choice for home security, offering several features that make it a reliable option. One of its standout features is the ease of installation. The camera is wireless, which means you don't need to worry about complicated wiring or drilling holes. The setup process is straightforward, and the companion app is user-friendly, allowing you to get everything up and running quickly. In terms of performance, the Blink Camera provides clear video quality, both during the day and at night. The night vision feature is particularly impressive, ensuring that you can monitor your home even in low-light conditions. The motion detection is also quite sensitive, sending alerts to your phone whenever movement is detected, which is great for keeping an eye on your property. Battery life is another strong point for the Blink Camera. It uses two AA lithium batteries, which can last up to two years, depending on usage. This long battery life means less hassle in terms of maintenance. Additionally, the camera offers cloud storage options, allowing you to save and review footage as needed. Overall, the Blink Camera is a cost-effective and efficient solution for home security needs.

    Blink 4 Single Camera

Let me start by saying that I am already a happy Blink user for over 4 years now. I have had their 3pk of Blink Outdoor cameras up on the outsides of my fence for 4 years. I was already a fan of their app and their storage policies for all my videos from my cameras. I currently manage my storage based on clips from all the cams. To be honest, 95% of them just automatically get deleted unless I see something I want to keep. I am very lucky because I back up to the woods and we get tons of Deer, Raccoons, rabbits, foxes, and a coyote or two. I love getting the pics of the deer and their babies in the summer. One of the new features is the ability to detect “persons” vs motion. While this is good and seems to work very well, it’s only enabled as part of the subscription. Sorry, this was not a smart move in my opinion. Other competitors offer the same without subscription. I can see the value of subscriptions for those that need retention on their clips as they go to the cloud but for my use, I review my clips enough save the ones I need to local storage which actually is rare. My main reason for getting this is I have one of my cam’s that is a bit flakey as it got some water in it at some point. I wanted a replacement but also was trying to think if I need a plan to replace them all. Setup on this Blink 4 was basically indicative of all my Blink experiences, flawless. I clicked to add the cam to my existing setup. One thing I have to research is this one came with a new sync module. I don’t know if I should replace my old one with the new one. Anyone know? I just took the easy route and added it to my setup, and it was up and running. It’s nice that this comes with the Lithium Batteries, so you just plug and go. Overall, I really don’t notice much difference in the 4 vs. the 3 but the one feature I do think of note here is the 143 degree field of view and I think the version 3 was like 110 degrees? It is a noticeably larger view which is great. I think the sensitivity around detection has improved a bit as well. Two year battery life is a great benefit, I think I am getting close to that with my version 3 so we will see. I would recommend this and am personally contemplating replacing some of my other cameras with these. The only thing holding me back is the subscription for the person vs. motion view.

This Blink outdoor camera is a real winner! I am so very impressed with the clarity and the audio capabilities of this little camera. I have it attached to my garage and I can see right down my entire driveway, onto the street and the house across the street. It will pick up motion from up to 100 feet away. I can get a live view at anytime from the Blink app which with a subscription will keep all of the camera takes for as long as I designate with the app. You do not have to have a subscription to store your views, just a separate Sync Module and a USB connection from Amazon and you have your views on file. Best video camera I have ever used. Highly recommend.

This Blink outdoor camera 4 is a good affordable security camera, however it needs a few upgrades. The camera comes with a sync module that allows you access to your camera recordings, you get a free trial of the Blink plus plan that includes unlimited cloud storage, person detection, video saving and sharing, motion detection, live recording and photo capture. So far the camera works well outside near my laundry room with a clear view during the day and clear night vision. The camera case looks durable and it’s weather resistant, two way audio is clear enough to be able to hear and talk. The only downside it’s that there’s not rechargeable batteries, the instructions says that the battery last up to two years, but I’m sure it all depends on your settings, also the wall mounting included cheap screws that when you try to adjust the camera, the screws break in half, I recommend you get your own strong screws to install the camera outside. The Blink camera works well with Alexa ( voice commands) however it doesn’t allow you to see the camera on the Alexa app, which is disappointing since I like to see all security cameras on the Alexa app. Pros : affordable outside wireless camera Cons : no rechargeable battery, can’t see the camera on Alexa app.
