This product has worked very well for me. I read mixed reviews before purchasing, so I was skeptical. I think this camera probably works best in a small area with limited activity. I have mine mounted under the eave behind my condo to surveil a small area that is surrounded by a privacy fence. I had assumed that I would have to move my hummingbird feeder that is also hanging under the eave, but to my surprise, the hummingbirds don't trigger the motion sensor; nor does my dachshund, who is apparently so short that she walks under the zone of motion detection. I have had a couple of false push notifications when large birds have swooped down in front of the sensor. The camera did pick up a landscape worker who came into the yard. I haven't had the camera long enough to speak about battery life, but mine have lasted several months so far. The lithium batteries cost just a few dollars, so if they last six months, I'll be pleased. I don't want to invest in an expensive security system right now, and this is working well for me right now as a stopgap measure.

The main issue I have is that you have to connect the sync module to WiFi and then the camera has to connect to WiFi and the sync module! Why not one or the other? Picture quality is good but clips that are set to be 30 seconds long may only be 5 seconds and cutoff during recording. It does some strange things like dropping connections to sync or WiFi and yes I have spoken to blink as this is my second camera. If you want a camera to set it and forget it right now this is not the camera. Arlo which I own as well has its quirks but not as many but it is more expensive. Also do not connect to a range extender or it will loose connection and you will have to reconnect sync module again and again. For the price at $82 dollars it’s fine but not at $129. Batteries do not last 2 years, they would have to have little or no movement daily.

The camera didn't meet my needs. I was expecting more from it however it didnt deliver. If you are looking for a simple budget camera to get up and running quickly then perhaps this might work for you. But if you are looking for a real security system pass on this. Here are the cameras flaws. Recording - The camera can only record up to 60 seconds of video at a time. This is very limiting as you might not catch all the video of a certain event. After the 60 seconds the camera has a re-trigger timer before it starts to record again. You can lower it to 10 seconds but still by the time the retrigger finishes it probably too late the crook probably broke in by then. The motion sensor is not too good as well. I would get constant false alerts even though I set activity zones. The camera has terrible lag from the moment it detect motion and starts recording so a lot of times you will only catch the back end of the video for example when i pull into my driveway by the time to camera kicks in and starts recording it only catches by car as half the car is inside the garage already. There is no 24/7 recording functionality so these clips is a you are going to get. Batery Life - If you adjust the settings of the camera to lower the retrigger option and make the camera capture full 60 seconds clips the battery will drain quickly. One camera is in a high traffic area of my house and the battery died within three weeks!!....I returned the blink system and got the Nest system much better no batteries to deal with and records 24/7 so you dont miss anything. Paying the extra $100 bucks for the nest plan in my opinion is worth the extra cost. You get what you pay for and although the video quality is good the features are not worth it.

I am having issues with Christmas decoration vandalism! This was a quick fix, or so I thought. It misses important details, night vision is not great, and it's flakey. (Battery life is also a serious issue.) I so badly wanted this to work in my favor. But I'm still unable to catch the vandals due to this camera not catching movement, stopping in the middle of important times of action and not connecting to my phone well. I'm going to be installing a hard wired system. Something I had hoped to avoid since attic wiring is not so much fun and setting up that kind of system takes a whole day to accomplish.

Nothing fancy but everything we need and flexible options to add more devices and move them as needed. Easy to setup in under 20 min. Online instruction easy to follow. App works great on multiple devices. If I can figure this out anyone can.

If you are looking for a security camera system that will record or notify you when there is movement in the activity zone, THIS IS NOT IT! Rarely does this camera pick up any movement at all even when sensitivity is set to its highest setting. Unless you are watching this camera in real time, you are not going to catch any action, and the software even restricts how long (mere seconds) you can view the camera live without having to press play again The only things going for this camera is it's size and the fact that it is wireless. That too may prove to be problematic as claims of 1 year without having to change the batteries are based on very strict conditions that restrict real time use. The app interface is also subpar compared to other systems and there is no cloud or sd card service to save movement if and when the camera ever picks it up. YI cam and others have just as cost effective service with more features and more reliability. The only drawback is they are not wireless.

These are great for watching entry ways as they record a clip every time it senses motion and uploads it to the cloud.

The install was very quick and easy. Then 2 cameras stopped working, I returned them and reinstalled 3 more, again 2 out o 3 stopped working, they all had great signal. I emailed blink tech support, they were quick to get back to me. And could not get cameras to work. I like the cameras small good pic but a pain when they dont work. My neabor has the with no problems. I may try 1 more time?

This worked for a couple of weeks and then completely stopped working entirely. It doesn't record anymore and I can't stream the live feed. I called customer service and tried to troubleshoot it, but nothing worked. They told me it was because the camera was too far from the router. It is about 10 feet from the router, through a wall. It is an OUTSIDE camera. It isn't practical to expect it to be any closer to my router. The batteries also died within ONE month. Its in the front of my house so I realized the batteries may not last the full 2 years advertised, but lasting 4 weeks is really ridiculous. When it was active, it was super faulty. I frequently got an error message that the camera was "busy," the "system was busy," or that "live view failed" and I was unable to see the camera feed. I would not recommend.

I bought this in June. I have had to call more than once about it not picking up motion. The latest was on all camera for almost a week. They always have to do something on their end, then ask you to jump through hoops to get to all cameras and sync unit. They acutaly seem to have some issues with the sync unit and the connection to the cameras. My lot is not even 100 feet long and the sync unit and cameras are within 40 feet. They can't get a good connections???? Really Arlo which I had before never had issues. I bought this for better batteries but it don't work, not worth it.

I would like to start by saying it's a great concept really like the price point as well as the size of the Blink XT exterior cameras. However the motion detection leaves me wanting, there's approximately two to three seconds delay when recording. On several occasions my camera sends me notifications and pictures of the back of people's heads because of the delay referenced above. The two star rating is solely based off of the motion detection aspect. The integration with the apps as well as Google Assistant works great. I like the flexibility of being able to customize zones, and adjust sensitivity from a convenient app. However adjusting the zones doesn't help because of the lag time. Installation and setup was a breeze worked flawlessly I would love to see the next updates centered around motion detection and being able to start recording when something enters the zone. I would not recommend this product to anyone that would like to capture "porch pirates" taking their packages.

I initially chose the Blink camera for it’s technology and for the cost savings over other brands that required you to pay for online storage of video clips. I do not care about storing videos of who or what walked by my house unless I have a warning I want to check. I then check the local video to see if it is a critical situation and then take the appropriate action if need be. If the event is not critical I delete the video. The old technology of storing videos locally worked great fir me and no cost was associated with storing videos. With Blink’s new process you can not store data locally and are forced to buy online storage if you to see any

This camera is easy to set up; however, it quit working after a week and wouldn't let me reset it. It said the SN number was wrong (it wasn't) and there is ZERO customer support from the company - just a useless phone tree directing you to the website, which doesn't answer the questions. If when it did work, it was slow and unhelpful. The person was already at the door and potentially causing problems before the camera alerts you. It is not a good camera for surveillance. Don't bother with it.

Haven't even had this set for a week. First, the Android app was updated which broke the login function. I was unable to even log into the app to check the cameras. The iOS app was working fine. A day later the whole system decided to disconnect itself from the WiFi. I'm still able to login to the iOS app but it shows the sync module as offline. No live feed. No recording in case of disaster. Great. From what I read on Blink community forums it seems that these kits basically ship with defective sync modules. Some may fail in a year or even months. In my case it was less than a week. This thing is a toy. It is NOT reliable enough to be considered as a security system in an event of break-in or other home disaster.

I was very impressed with how easy it was to add the sync module & cameras & set camera settings, only to be disappointed by the cheaply made camera mounts which is why I am returning the cameras to the store tomorrow.

Horrible picture when they work which is not often. Tech support has given excuse after excuse. They have blamed everyone but themselves. Stay away. Waste of money

My camera was shipped without the mounting bracket which is in the product description, I want Best Buy to send me a mounting bracket or will return the product
