This movie courageously portrays a young woman's emotional and physical experiences of first love. The new comer star sensitively renders her erotic abandon of youth, followed by the bleak loneliness of the loss of her first love. A brutally honest film, not for the faint of heart, not because of the erotic content, but instead the potent emotional content. A masterpiece. French Language film with English subtitles. Criterion Collection blu-ray edition widescreen 1.77:1 aspect ratio has a clear picture with good sound quality.

Blue is the Warmest Color was my favorite film of 2013. It is a coming of age film that is real, raw and breathtaking. Adele Exarchopoulos is brilliant as the lead character.

I don't like French movies. Most of them are too ideological and vague. This is one of the masterpieces of French movies.

Didnt like this movie very much and for a Criterion it is barebones. For collectors only.
