It's unfortunate that the stand didn't last more then a few weeks, I didn't notice this or know how long it's actually been like this, It still functions for now. the mic itself however we all know is great for the price, I haven't had any issues with the mic, but the stand, I'm disappointed. I mean can i even buy a new stand for this? I would recommend the mic but not the stand.

Hello. Please allow me to apologize for your Compass Boom arm's issues. The way the arm was set up was to use the weight of the microphone to hold the arm down. There is an adjustment screw in the base to loosen the tightness of the spring in the arm. The plastic adjustment knobs on the arm are the last thing for fine adjustments, and should not need to be tightened too much. The Yeticaster is a great deal overall with almost saving $100 on the bundle instead of buying all of them separate but I would recommend buying a Pop filter to block out the air of you speaking and make your voice sound a lot clearer was very easy to install but sometimes the mic will force down and you can adjust that by the screw on the bottom of the boom arm

Blu always makes a quality product. Already purchased the Blu Yeti X Mic but needed a good stand and shock mount. And I was lucky to run into this little beauty. Easy to piece together and install not to many set up parts. The standard mic that comes with it is good and I have it stored away as a back up/guest mic, for in person collab work. But the mount and stand worked as expected universally with my main Yeti X mic. Until a get a better desk. I’m using the c clamp function instead of the pilot hole which I would recommend is the better option due to a stronger sense of security of you mic and stand. However the clamp gets the job done at the end of the day. Be mindful as well if you desk or table has a lip. This could hinder your stands stability.

The microphone is incredible. The audio quality is crisp and clear allowing for a full vocal range and the gain adjustment allows for a wide breadth of sensitivity. The logitech software leaves some to be desired, however there are a lot of presets to hone in on your desired sound, and the app does offer fine tuning beyond those presets. The arm functions the way it should, quietly adjusting to whatever position you desire. The only down side with the arm is that it only allows for a top down positioning. I would like to have the mic come up from below and there is no option to do that with the compass arm.

Great mic, not as great a boom arm

Bought the Yeticaster mic and boom arm package. Got it for some livestreaming and master classes that I plan on running for my business. The sound quality that the mic generates is superb. I tested this in parallel vs. the built-in mic in my HP All-in-One and my Logitech webcam, and the improvement and overall resonance of the sound is far superior. Definitely happy with that. I have to ding the boom arm a bit. Yes, it's sturdy. Yes, it's aesthetically pleasing. It was pretty easy to assemble as well. I wanted to set this up so that the mic would be below me (out of camera shot), but the tension in the boom arm is not adjustable enough to keep it from springing up or creeping back into the shot. I see that a lot of reviewers in different forums had this experience as well. I tweaked the external tension adjusters and the "hidden" screw that's located in the base of the arm. Couldn't get the right balance. I did consider returning this and just getting the mic on fixed base. After a lot of adjustments and experimentation with placement, I took advantage of a grommet that's drilled in my desk, placed the clamp in it, and have the mic in an "inverted" position (pointing down) and positioned about 12" from my mouth and off to my side. It's out of camera shot (a plus), and the mic is sensitive enough to capture my voice well. With this placement, I simply swing the boom arm into position, pull the mic toward me a bit, and I'm good to go. Overall happy with this, but would have liked a little more versatility in the ability to position the boom arm.

Was looking for a while for a mic to go with my headphones (was trying to get away from "gaming headsets" and go with a good quality audio setup). Was doing quite a bit of research for a mic (and had seen Yeti before, and even recommended by a friend) but was leaning towards getting a XLR mic setup, while balancing quality versus cost. Found a few mics within my budget, but was having the total go up due to me not already having an appropriate audio interface to hook it up to. Well even with going with an okay mic on sale and a decent interface (one that i would be willing to keep even after upgrading other aspects of my setup), and boom-arm, the cost was growing over the cost of a Yeti. And I had to ask myself, why I was sort of against it in the first place. I had no grand intentions of going big as a content creator and "needing" a top of the line setup to support it. So I strolled into Best Buy and saw this bundle, and open box no less! Came out to less than the cost of just the mic so I had to grab it. My friends instantly remarked on the increase in quality and the boom works well (after I took the time to figure it out, it is a little finicky). Even if I have to eventually replace the boom, it was well worth it!

Absolutely LOVE this mic. Amazing quality. Clear and crisp, with different settings for different uses. 10/10 recommend. The ONLY thing I have a small issue with, is on the mic end of the boom arm, the tension joint to hold the mic up, isn't very strong, and it slips. It IS quite a heafty mic, so it's totally understandable, and does not impeade the usage ablility if the mic. Still amazing!!

Great quality overall! As far as sounds go this mic is worth it's value, the only thing is I wish the stand was a tad bit better as far as holding in place. Some positions it likes to slowly drift out of no matter how tight you turn the knobs but that's about it as far as anything I would hope to be different and it's still workable even with that. This is also my first time buying a mic like this and it was very easy to get it up and running.

The Yeticaster combines Blue’s acclaimed USB microphone with a Radius III shock mount and Compass boom. Setup is a snap. Fifteen minutes after arriving home, the entire unit was installed and functioning. The audio quality is superb. (I’m a former broadcaster, so this is not an uninformed assessment.) The four configurations make it simple to set up the mike for group recordings, one-on-one interviews, or one-person narration, which is how I use it to record the audio for my novel. The BestBuy staff was, as usual, knowledgeable and helpful. A great product at an excellent price.

Love the mic but there are glaring problems out of the box that are not super obvious to fix but after a lot of researching and tuning. My gaming setup is not ideal, my girlfriend and i have desks side by side and we both use the yeticaster along with a pair of iems. Tuning to cut the sound of eachother talking from each mic was a basically whole day process with consultation from a buddy who owns one as well. Out of the box the mic comes with a feature which has no clear way to fix that plays your own voice back through your headset, which for some is fine and for others is really annoying. I had to go into windows settings to turn it off rather than the logitech ghub which took about an hour of searching for the solution. Also just remembered that anytime my pc goes to sleep or shuts down i have to unplug and replug in the mic to get it to work at all. Now for the goods, the mic is quality is basically the best you need. After browsing through a few settings on ghub i found the best voice profile for myself and i really like that it has a headphone jack to plug my iems into. The desk mount is very simple to setup and the tension system it uses is very effective but may require someone with strong hands to twist enough to hold in place. Overall a great buy just not the most simple to setup if you have multiple people in the same room.

I really love this microphone. I dont feel I need to say much about the quality of the audio for the price point. Everyone knows these seemed to be in every budding streamers setups and still are in a lot of cases. The boom arm... its great but be warned, it will be a source of frustration when you first get it. It is very stiff and kind of just does whatever it wants. After a few weeks of use though it becomes a lot more manageable and easier to adjust and get to stay put. I would definitely recommend both regardless.

The price and features sold me on this item but even better is the quality of sound. My son is a professional sound engineer who recommend this to me because I wanted something for podcasting and voice overs and when I got it he came over and worked with it. We were both surprised by the internal processing with in the device. The stand is very solid and would last a long time. . It will pickup every single sound so adding non-reflective surfaces to the area is helpful in avoiding echo back. Switching from one mode to another is very simple and the switch is solid. IT preforms very well and to me compares to other microphones costing much more. I really like that you can switch the microphone to interview mode. Even my son was surprised how well this worked. You set the microphone between you and the person you want to record and the mic does the rest. It is really amazing. I have not tried setting it in the middle of a group of musicians or singers but I think it will be really great. Overall, a microphone that can be cardioid, bidirectional, omni directional and stereo all in one is no gimmick, it is a real performer....can't wait to see what all it can do.
