Blue Thunder flies again in this budget priced edition. The plot involves Los Angeles helicopter cop Frank Murphy (Roy Schieder), who is given the opportunity to pilot "Blue Thunder", the LAPD's new tactical copter. But during his investigation of a Los Angeles Congresswomen's death, Murphy discovers he must run for his life when he finds out about a group of people who want to use Blue Thunder for a far more sinister use. The film also stars Malcolm McDowell, Candy Clark, Warren Oates and Daniel Stern. The Pros of this Blu is a great looking transfer. The Cons is that there is no lossless DTS soundtrack, just a Dolby Digital 5.1 one. Also, since this is a budget priced title from Mill Creek Entertainment (licensed from Columbia Pictures), it is a movie only version which autoplays when you put in the disc. Anyway, what more can you say, it's Blue Thunder for eight bucks, which was the incentive for me to buy this. If you're not a DTS fanatic, and don't care for bonus materials for a film, I recommend Blue Thunder.

I bought this after hearing a movie podcast in which it came up during a discussion. As an 80s movie addict there are very few I have not seen, this was one. Best buy sells it so cheap on blu ray I blind bought it. I was blown away at how well this movie holds up for its age. The action, f\x and performances are all on point. Very happy to have this in my collection.

I have been looking forward to seeing this movie again after so long seeing it on cable here and there years back. Imagine my surprise seeing this on the shelf in blu-ray! I bought it and haven't regretted it. Blue Thunder gets the blu-ray treatment giving it great picture (considering the age of the movie) and a major improvement in sound. If you like Blue Thunder, and own a blu-ray player, this is a no-brainer buy.

I remember first purchasing this several years ago when it first came out on VHS and I literally wore the tape out. I had been looking for it for a long time and was elated to find it on Blu-Ray. This is an excellent action film and one I plan on watching a lot in the future.

High-tech helicopter steals the show from the human star, Roy Scheider of JAWS fame. Has some scenes not for the under 17 age group. Good luck trying to figure what JAFO means -- it's what Scheider calls his young co-pilot.

I love this movie, but the disc leaves a little to be desired. The picture seems a little washed out and the sound doesn't really sell the impact of the action scenes. The disc could be better.

Blue Thunder is an interesting movie in that it's part action/part suspense that just happens to center around a really high tech helicopter. This is good stuff and worth picking up if you're a fan of 80s movies.

I liked this movie back when it came out on VHS. It is still worth a watch if you haven't seen it before. The "modern, state of the art technology" displayed in this movie is about 10 years old now though.

Good older movie with plenty of action with a hi-tech helicopter! Good picture transfer and has 5.1 digital audio track that sounds great! Highly recommended for viewing!

For the age of it, the movie is still great. Nothing like having a quite helicopter to use for spying activities.

Enjoyed this movie when it was first released on VHS. Enjoyed it again in hi-def.

Plenty of action and great movie older movie but those who enjoy action will like it and it has a good plot.

I saw this when I was much younger and it's still a favorite today.

Jaws wasn't Roy Scheider's only good movie. Would watch again.
