Does what it says it will do. Clean out the intakes once every couple days if you have dogs. Pet dander/odor is gone and it leaves no smells behind.

Great product. Everything feels super premium. App is easy and streamlined. Makes a signifier difference in your air quality and has the monitor to prove it. Not the best option for smoke but the germicidal features and overall particulate filtration is pretty amazing. Makes a real difference in my musty condo.

Excellent purifier, cleaner air, breaks down kitchen odors and is programmable via the app on my iPhone. Night mode, shows when it’s picking up contaminants via LED light. Love this purifier!

We're using this in our bedroom where we sleep with half a dozen cats. Surprisingly, so far, the air quality has had 0 across the board on PM (particulate matter). This might be because it's the winter with virtually no pollen and low humidity, but I'm still surprised there aren't more particulates in our air with the cats around. We'll see what happens this spring when the pollen comes back. The tVOC (total volatile organic compounds) has fluctuated a little more, but only between excellent and good. The light bar on the top changes color according to the air quality (from red-very polluted to blue-excellent) which is kind of cool. We've seen it change from blue to green and back. Night mode turns off the display which is a must-have for the bedroom. The LED color bar is extremely bright even if you turn it to minimum via the app (but night mode turns it off completely). I set up a schedule in the app to turn that mode on during our normal sleep hours. I did get it linked to Alexa, but that skill doesn't seem to work. Even though linked as a skill, Alexa doesn't recognize a device named "air purifier" which is what the skill says to use. Not a big deal though, because I don't really need to change the settings on the purifier much. I plan to just leave it on auto and see how it does through the rest of the year. Hopefully it'll detect pollen and range fire smoke this spring and ramp up the fan to keep our air cleaner. Here are some other observations and specs for the Blueair 7470i: - I think the design looks really good in the bedroom and doesn't take up much space - It's super quiet on the lowest setting. The specs say 25 dB up to 45 dB on the highest setting - It uses from 8 to 48 watts - The screen filters are easy to pull out and clean. The main filter is also easy to access and replace, but that shouldn't be necessary more than once or twice a year - The filter contains an RFID to monitor usage, with a maximum 1-year filter life - A replacement filter is $70 or 15% less with a subscription (subscription service coming soon according to the web site) - The filters are not HEPA, but HEPASilent(tm). They claim the same level of filtration but this type allows air to flow more easily so it's quieter and uses less energy - The unit has a 1-yr warranty that's extended to 5 years when you register, or apparently forever if you enter into a filter subscription

I purchased due to smoke in our air as a result of ongoing forest fires in CA. This model of Blueair is very effective air filtration system for a large bedroom. The App for iOS connects to system via wireless connection and allows monitoring of air quality in room and customization of settings to achieve goal of clean air. The night mode is ideal as one can turnoff LED when it is time to sleep. Overall I would highly recommend this product. It is well worth the higher price compared to other models and brands.

I received my Bluair 7470i air purifier and I must say it's VERY well built, high quality and easy to set up. I downloaded the app and unlike some others who seem to have problems using the app, I have had none. Works flawlessly. I have a dog that's older and unfortunately he has a bit of an odor so I am quite impressed how fast this machine filtered the air and it now smells fresh and clean all the time in my living room. I like the lighted blue band across the top that tells you the quality of your current air situation and using the app I can adjust the fan speed anywhere between the 3 speeds you get by just pressing the button on top of the unit. I have had it running non-stop since its arrival. The air filter needs to be changed about every 6 months, at least for me as I don't smoke, and you get them right from the company. The app also tells you the amount of life that's left on your filter. It's efficient, very quiet and so useful. Now about the light being so bright that I have heard complaints on. All I do is adjust with the app and it can go from bright to no light in a flash. Mainly useful for those who place this in their bedrooms. I have absolutely nothing negative to say about this air purifier and highly recommend it for anyone that's looking for this type of item. A perfect 10.

The unit itself looks very nice, and runs very quiet even at higher speeds. I am just very disappointed with the associated app that is needed control some of the features. The reviews in the App Store are valid, I wish I would have looked at that before buying this unit. I hope they are working on revamping version with all of he customer feedback.

Good quality air purifier, quiet night mode and nice app

So first and foremost... this is NOT your old school air cleaner... this is a new generation of them. From the outside, this unit is very pleasing to the eye. Slick white, tapered design... despite it's larger size, it will look good in any modern decor. Part of me desperately wants to paint it like R2D2, but that is for another review. The filter is a non-nonsense dual filter, and is easily accessed and unwrapped and put back in. Download the app, and get it connected to your wifi, was a minor bit inconvenient, as the the app seemed to be a tad out of date, on the steps I needed to do... but was able to get it, and was able to start communicating with the air cleaner. ONce I had it up and running, I can monitor all the stats in the room. Humidity, temperature, airflow... very easily accessed. Now the important parts: - It is pretty quiet when it is running on high. My son is a light sleeper and we now have this in his room and it isn't bothering him. - the lights are a little bright, so if you are in a darker room.. you may find it lights up a bit more then you like it too. For function... well, the air smells better, seems to be less allergy triggers in the room... but since I don't have any high end equipment to measure, I can't say for sure. The spring will be the real test, when allergy season comes back in full swing.

The Blueair HealthProtect air purifier removes particles from the home environment quietly and efficiently. It takes very little to get started. It comes fully assembled, and includes a hefty little user manual, over 120 pages, although it's in English through page 27. The rest looks like the same info in several (four) other languages. The quick start guide gets you going in just a couple of steps, basically plug the machine in and download the app, scanning the QR code or manually going to the appropriate app store on your phone. What the Quick Start guide omits is the need to remove two small blue foam pieces under the two 'pre-filters' on either side and the plastic wrapped around the main filter prior to plugging the purifier in or turning it on. That's in the user manual, so users should review the manual first. The app is necessary for this model as it needs to connect to WIFI to work properly. The app will do that for you, but you will need to put your internet password into the app. The app does more than just connecting the purifier to the internet, and users can explore the different features and information. After that, you can set the machine to Auto and leave it there. You can also change some of the settings too. This model is meant for a large space, up to 418 square feet. Check to make sure you select the correct model for the space you’re using it in, as this would likely be too big for a bedroom. I have it in the living room, but this and the dining room are one big space. It seemed to react to changes in the environment; when a bedroom was left open it could sense the increase in pollutants in the area and I saw the changes on the display, as I stayed in the room for a while after turning it on. This can remove a wide range of things from the air, allergens like dust and pet dander, odors from smoke, pets, etc. and other pollutants like germs. It does not claim to aid with removing the COVID19 virus, but I believe this virus is too new for any device to make that claim and be able to stand by it. The description does mention other viruses and bacteria such as H1N1 and E. Coli. There is a GermShield setting that Blueair recommends leaving on, as it detects changes related to this too. It also can be used with Alexa, although I don’t currently have a device in that room to test it with at this time; that is something I will try out later. It does not have a remote, but it really doesn’t need one, since it has the app; using an Alexa capable device would add some voice control, although I don’t know if that would just be to connect a smart plug or if there are other controls. The indicators on top show that the purifier is on, if Auto is on, Airflow (fan) speed, GermShield on/off, and that it is connected to Wifi (or if there is a problem with the connection). Above this, is more specific info, which you can scroll through by using the arrows on either side. It shows temperature, humidity, and information on particles in the air, PM1, PM2.5, and PM10, filter status (will decrease as the life of the filter decreases, eventually indicating replacement is necessary), and an indicator for levels of gases in the room. You can see the colors at the bottom of the display change as the air quality improves, from red and orange when the air has a lot of pollutants in it to green and blue, which is what you want to see, as that means the air quality has changed to good or excellent. The app gives a lot more information so users can understand more about what the different indicators mean, and there is also a website if you really want to learn more about the purifier and how they work. I noticed a difference in the room rather quickly, as the air moving cooled the temperature down around it. I adjusted to fan to a lower setting since it was a cold day. This slowed the time to purify the area but made it more comfortable in the room. I like that I can adjust different settings, but that I can also put it on Auto and let it do all the work. The next day was warmer in the afternoon, and I turned up the fan. It seems to work a little faster with the fan on, although it works fine either way. I’m using it at home, so I don’t need to know all the little details, although I found it interesting how technical it is in letting you know the different ways it improves the air quality. With this being such a bad time for colds and viruses, plus year-round allergies, I feel confident that this makes our home safer for staying healthy. Allergies are something everyone in my household deals with, particularly as they affect the sinuses and breathing. That’s something that a good air purifier can help with, and this does a great job at maintaining better air quality indoors. Blueair recommends keeping doors and windows closed, which is something we tend to do anyway, and this will make it easier to keep as much out of the air as possible. I could also notice a difference throughout the first day as it worked on removing odors quickly, particularly smoke. It’s not very heavy, but can be moved by holding the handle and leaning it back on the two wheels to relocate it as needed. It is tall but not very wide, and doesn't take up too much space. This is a really well made and efficient device, especially in a time when air quality is such an issue, and a purifier like this can improve our health in several ways. I feel like this will help my family to breathe easier and stay healthier.
