Great sound and noise cancellation but it definitely has some issues where it says it's connected but does nothing. If I hit volume up on the side then my phone will show the movements on the screen. Seems to only happen after I disconnect and reconnect

Ultra Quiet Wireless Headset Best for Home Use

The BlueParrott S650-XT wireless Headset is a unique on-ear headphones with a solid quality feel, good sound quality, and incredible Active Noise Cancelling. Setup The setup was okay, but could have been a little easier. I downloaded the BlueParrott App onto my iPhone. The App has a Get Started link which steps through registration then ends on a Walkie Talkie screen. It did not prompt me for Bluetooth pairing. I went to the manual and figured out how to pair by holding the power button for six seconds. I selected the Setup section in the App and discovered the steps for pairing. The App has an Update Firmware feature which I used for updating the headset. The update took around five minutes and a progress bar on the App showed the status. Headset The headset has a nice quality feel to it. It is a little bit heavier than I expected. While the documentation promotes usage for phone and music while on the road, I prefer using it at my desk for phone calls, music, and computer use. A unique feature is the ability to remove one of the earcups. The removal and re-attaching is via two buttons on the side of the earcup and a sturdy connector. The ability to rotate the microphone is great for using a single earcup on either side of my head. The primary earcup has four buttons on the outer face, a button on the one side, and two buttons on the side. The top button is a programmable BlueParrott button. The shapes and textures of the buttons make it easy to feel and select. The earcups are comfortable with a leather like feel. Using It is easy to pair the headset via Bluetooth by holding the power button in for six seconds, until you hear "Pair mode". The headset can be paired with two different devices. I paired it with my iPhone and with my desktop. However, I ran into issues with phone calls when playing music from the desktop. I have sent an inquiry to tech support. For the time being, I'll leave it paired with my iPhone and play music from there. I configured the BlueParrott button with the App for enabling voice commands. In this mode, by saying "Hello BlueParrott", the headset is ready for voice commands. Some of the commands I've mastered are "Pair Mode" and "Check Battery". I've yet to get it to recognize "What can I say?" The headset is comfortable to wear. With the weight and earcup pressure, I found that my max duration is about 4 hours before giving my ears a break. Sound Quality The real power of this headset is in the Active Noise Cancelling (ANC). I am amazed at how much external nose is reduced when it is on. If the neighbor is mowing their lawn, the ANC completely cuts it out. The HearThrough mode allows external sounds to be passed through the mic. This actually enhances the level of the sound. Sound quality for phone calls is clear and crisp. No issues with the quality have been detected by others on the phone. Music quality is impressive. The frequency response is 20Hz - 20000Hz. My taste includes classical, jazz, rock, pop, and I have been quite happy with the performance in all these genres. Features • Convertible to a single or two earcups • Active Noise Cancelling with 96% noise reduction • HearThrough mode enhances external noises • Bluetooth or 3.5 mm jack cable connectivity • Can be paired with up to seven devices and connect two at a time • Voice controllable • Customizable BlueParrott button • Full recharge takes 3.5 hours • Up to 36 hours talk time • USB-C port for charging • A2DP streaming • Bluetooth 5.1 • Button controls are: ○ ANC on/off and HearThrough ○ Skip track ○ Voice commands ○ Mute ○ Power on/off ○ Answer/end call ○ Reject call ○ Volume up/down Summary Overall, I am very pleased with the BlueParrott S650-XT convertible wireless headphones. If the documentation did not claim two simultaneous Bluetooth connections, I would have given these 5 stars for a single Bluetooth connection. However, I spent several hours trying to get the dual connections to work and finally reached out to technical support. Aside from that issue, I highly recommend these headphones for anyone exposed to a lot of external background noise.

I'm a big fan of BlueParrot headsets - I've used the 350, 450 and now the 650. I was really excited to try the 650 and see the differences in the models. Here's a quick summary on the S650: Pros: -Fits well on my head/ears -Awesome active Noise Cancelling -Mono/Stereo ability by detaching entire earpiece -1/8" port for plugging into airplane -Long battery life -Very nice carrying case Cons: -A bit bulky and heavy -Earcups not adjustable (different sizes for those with bigger/smaller ears) -Seems to require BlueParrot app to setup Using and testing with my iphone allowed me to run to many of the features and test voice quality. As expected - voice quality is outstanding - just like the previous models. I work from home and talk on the phone for most of my job - usually 1-2hour conference calls - so the ability to hear and be heard clearly is essential for me. This was easily handled by the S650. Comfort was very good as well! The tricky part for me was getting the device to answer the phone quickly - or be recognized correctly by the web conference app - like Webex, Teams, etc. I sometimes had to power the headset off then on to make sure it was correctly connected to the phone, then passed through to the app. I'm still working through that and think it has more to do with the apps than the headset - but still a bit frustrating. Overall - I'm impressed with the features, durability and quality and will use this as my primary headset from now on.

I have been using the BlueParrot S650-XT (seriously BlueParrot, you need to come up with easier to say names) for several days now. There is a lot to like, audio quality for voice calls is clear (both as a recipient of calls but also for the person you call), and the S650-XT is also great when listening to music. But the stand out feature is the 2 in 1 design... more on that in a second. What makes the S650-XT stand out from the pack is the 2 in 1 design. There is some really different thinking in this headset that I haven't seen elsewhere and that's because one of the ear cups breaks away. This lets you also use the S650-XT as a mono headset. If you need a headset you can use when in a car, while still have clear pass through hearing for the traffic; or in an office where you also may need to talk to other people - this is a game changer. It also helps with comfort if you need a headset you can use all day. The removable ear cup clips using some clamps on the side which unlock the metal clips that hold it in place. If you're struggling to work out why this matters, imagine working from home with kids where you still need to keep an ear open and clear to hear for any chaos at home, but when the kids are with their grandparents you want to have a proper headset and you will get why this matters. The Active Noise Canceling (ANC) works well, although it would definitely be better if the ear cups were over ear vs on ear. It's not a deal breaker (see my pros and cons) but worth knowing the design is not as how pictured on the box. The earcups do rest (for me) over the the whole ear, they just are not big enough to fully enclose your ear. FYI there is a button on the headset that lets you quickly turn ANC off/on. BlueParrot has some smarts where the mic can also cancel-out background noise - which worked well in my tests (engine and road noise wasn't picked up by the person I called, my office is not crowded but ambient office noise was also not a problem). The Bluetooth on S650-XT has great range, the box claims 300 ft, I tested these between 50-100 feet and there was none of that weird choppiness you normally get with a Bluetooth headset. Comfort-wise, the S650-XT is good. The headband has good padding, The ear cups are comfortable. The buttons have a good feel plus tactile bumps to make it easier to navigate when you're wearing them and can't see the controls. There is a standalone mobile app that lets you customize buttons and update firmware, the apps if free but I will say the app feels unsophisticated vs those from other brands. Pros - the Bluetooth range is very good. I was able to leave my phone in my car and walk to my front door (about 80 feet) without any issue - the break away 2 in 1 design is great, lets you be "there" for people with you when you need it but switch to a stereo headset when you want to focus (or enjoy some music) - comes with a great hard case that zips shut, a USB A to USB C cable, and a 3.5mm audio cable and a spare foam pad for the mic. - can use with the included audio cable, so you don't always have to use with Bluetooth. - reversible design, so can wear with mic on left or right, plus charges via USB C Cons: - the EarCups are really on ear vs over ear. This means the ANC is not as good as it could be vs a fully enclosed headset. The box is a little deceptive as it looks like they are over ear ear cups. - the BlueParrot app works but feels very amateurish, as a long time BlueParrot user I really wish they would update their app to a more modern design - firmware update was a little complicated, took a few nervous goes to get it to update. The app encourages you to register, but you don't have to register to update the firmware. Overall, I think the S650-XT are worth it if you need a well made Bluetooth headset that has great range and you like the freedom of a mono headset but want the benefits of a full stereo headset when it's right for you.

I am really impressed with this headset from Jabra. Anyone who works in a secretarial position, call center, or other busy and loud environment where multitasking and phone calls are required should conider this most excellent headset. This headset is truly convertible to your needs. You have the ability to take one headphone attachment off and run this as a mono-speaker set up, or you can run it dual. You also maintain the ability to have this hooked up to two different Bluetooth sources and switch between (i.e., your phone and your work desktop), and it also includes a 3.5mm axillary cable so you can hook up to a wired 3.5mm jack as needed. This headset is extremely comfortable, I cannot emphasize that enough. They are quite adjustable and are padded in all the right places to where your head feels supported with this headset on but no smothered by too much hot, sweaty foam over time. I have been using this headset quite a lot for taking and making phone calls and since I first fully charged it up, I have not reached the end of is advertised 36 hours of battery life after hours of use. Altogether, I am really impressed with this headset and you should definitely consider it if you need something that can isolate and cancel external sounds but also adapt to allow noise to pass through as need, all while being highly adaptable to your needs. Thanks for reading and good luck with your purchase decision!

Blue parrot Bluetooth wireless headset is so awesome. The sound is loud & clear & people can you loud & clear also don’t even realize your using a headset. It was a quick & easy Bluetooth set up. I downloaded the app created my profile & learned more it about them they are walkie talkie capable, has voice memo. You can use both or one ear pad, you can use the microphone move 180 degrees to be worn either your left or right side. This headset has been the most comfortable headset I’ve ever used, the cushions are super soft & comfy, it is a little heavy but you honestly can not even tell. It comes with a nice zip up storage case, a replacement foam cover the microphone, has a usb charging cord. Has volume control buttons on the headset, touch of a button to answer calls or do a voice memo & BlueParrott button used for speed dial, push to talk so your able to control your headset hands free great for washing dishes, cooking cleaning & talking on the phone haha. Your also able to mute calls. The noise cancelling is the best block out any background noise. Says it has water & dust protection haven’t experienced that feature yet. It stays charged for approx. 3 days depending on how much you use it. It can also be used with Siri & google asst. I couldn’t be happier with my parrot headset. Highly recommend

I have used Jabra products for a long time. I had one of their first Bluetooth hands free cell phone around the ear maybe 15 years ago. Jabra back then was good and so are these headphones. Setup was a snap. Download the app connect and your off and running. Walkie talkie function. Seems neat. I could not test that because I don't have anyone else running on the platform. Firmware update took about 15 mins. Prior to update volume was an issue. That fixed it. Sound is decent. Other features are great. Noise cancelling... Passthrough. All nice. The only thing with me and noise cancelling was when I used it in 1 ear it through.my balance off for a few seconds. I had to get used to it. Took it on a long drive up to Sacramento and the cancellation was great. Used it to take a nap. Other than that super easy a d comfortable. 8 have been running for 3 days straight and the battery is still running strong 70% still. Size is a good size. Not like those huge gammer headsets and not so flimsy like the smaller ones. 1 Con. It get interference from cell phones. Especially if you get 5G Ultra Wideband. Great job Jabra. Would recommend this product.

BlueParrott S650-XT (Jabra) is an industrial grade Bluetooth wireless headset with boom mic. Tested several consumer grade wireless headsets before and this is my first industrial grade BT headset. I got to try one to see what makes this unique from the ones in the market that are often used by truckers. I now use this to take calls when I am on the road and the good part about this headset is that you can disconnect one ear cup and use it as a mono headset which is perfect to take calls while driving and still hear your surroundings. I was surprised by the sound quality and the noise suppression (better than name brand headphones that costs $300+) functions on this headset, I took few work calls while driving on highway and none complained about any background noise. I had two dropped calls, wasn't sure if it was my cell signal or the headset. I did a firmware update that took about 15 minutes before I started using it again. I also noticed the audio was low and sound quality wasn't that great before the firmware update. Guess the firmware update fixed a few issues. The volume is still a bit low on few calls. Functions and features: • Set-up was easy, took less than a minute to get it connected to my iPad (have Cellular connectivity for Teams calls on the go) and phone. Well-built, sturdy and designed to withstand prolonged outdoor use and IP54 rated. • Flexible mic boom that lets you adjust the mic distance. Large padded headband and cushioned speakers that are extremely comfortable for long hours of use. Comes in a rugged carry case with charger cables. • Boasts 36 hr talk time which is impressive compared to regular headsets I have that only lasts 12 to 24 hours of continuous use. USB C charging with 3 hr charge time and 600 hr standby time. • Great audio quality and unmatched noise suppression function for outdoor use and can be compared with name brand headphones on the audio quality. I liked the option to unplug the left earcup and use it as a mono headset while driving which is a big plus, over using one ear bud to take work calls. • Active noise cancellation (ANC) is better than I expected and comparable to the high-end headphones that I use to listen to music while on travel or outdoors. • Amazing Audio quality when compared to headphones in the same price range, delivers the right bass and spatial audio experience even at full volume. No distortion or muffle even at max volume which is very impressive for headset that was primarily designed to take calls. • Something that I noticed is its impressive wireless range that I didn’t see on any other headset that I currently own ($300-$700 range). I walked up and down 3 floors listening to music with my cell phone sitting on the 1st floor. I walked outside to test the range and was impressed that I can still take calls 200+ ft away from the phone. The spec says 300ft/100m range which is off the charts when compared to the headsets that I currently own. • BlueParrot app lets you customize the "BlueParrot button" on the headset to activate different functions - push-to-talk, speed dial friends, mute function, etc. I had it set to switch between two devices but the main function is to enable and configure the push-to-talk for truckers. Supports several push-to-talk apps including Verizon's push-to-talk feature. Its voice controlled so you can use it to search music, make calls, get directions, etc. without having to touch your phone. Overall, I recommend this headset for travelers. Offers best of both worlds - great audio quality for streaming music and amazing noise suppression feature to take calls while on the road or outdoors, for price less than name brand ones with similar performance. The only complaint I have is the volume being low on few calls, not sure if it's my headset or it needs another firmware update. Will have to try it for few more days to comment on the call audio levels, works great when listening to music though.

    Good Headset with some Limitations

I would like to rate this BlueParrott S650 XT higher but the inability to reassign button function, the low quality voice interface and the sub-par mobile app bring down the otherwise high quality headset. Pros: Single or double headset, very good ANC, fit and finish are solid. Cons: The voice interface isn’t as good as others I have used. The BlueParrott app while somewhat functional does not offer much value nor is it very intuitive. You cannot reassign functions on any of the buttons with the exception of the limited options for the BlueParrott button. Mobile App: Within the mobile app there are five configurable options for the BlueParrott button but no other button can be reconfigured. With the app you can set up Walkie Talkie Mode, create a Voice Memo, configure the BlueParrott button and update the headset firmware. The first thing I did was try to update the firmware using the app. After several failed attempts with no indication of why it failed the firmware finally updated. With the headset configured and the linked to the app on my phone I tried to use the BlueParrott button and the voice response I got was to “please download the BlueParrott app”. Eventually I got the headset and the app to work properly together but it was a frustrating experience. At least the user guide in the app provides useful information. This is the first product app I’ve encountered that uses screen space for advertisements. Function: The ANC works really well. It took a little time to get used to because with the ANC on you don’t hear your own voice very clearly when on a call which can be a little disturbing at first. The ANC has three modes which are ANC off, ANC on and ANC Hear Through. I found that the ANC Hear Through adds to much ambient sound/hissing for my liking. Everyone I talked to said I sounded clear and no one could discern any back ground sounds coming from my microphone. There are distinct buttons on the sides of each headset but only the BlueParrott button is configurable via the mobile app. The BlueParrott button can be used to access your mobile assistant and I was able to interface with Siri without any problems. The power on/off button uses blue and red indicator lights to show the headphones status. It also becomes an answer/end call button once the headset is powered up. There are volume up and down buttons, skip buttons (one on each ear cuff) and the ANC control button. I had no problems pairing up the headset with my phone or laptop however I did notice that Jabra says that this headset is not optimized for use with a PC! You can pair up to 7 devices with two of them used simultaneously. The headset uses Bluetooth version 5.1 and I was able to walk around my house without any issues of call drops. The headset has a IP54 rating so it can withstand dust and a little sweat. The headset comes with a USB-C cable for charging and it should get up to 36 hours of talk time per charge. They also provide a nice storage case for the headset. Fit: The fit is on the ear which is not what I consider over the ear. Other headsets I own completely surround the ear, my whole ear is within the headset cushion. With this headset the cushion openings are smaller and not large enough to surround the ear so they sit on top of your ear. The headset is a bit tighter than others that I have used but not so tight that its uncomfortable. With the second ear piece removed there is a rubber pad that contacts your head to keep the headset in place. I found this to be comfortable as well. The microphone sits on a moveable bendable arm and it can be rotated so you can have the microphone on the left or right side.

I’ve had my eye on this one since its announcement several months ago. Already a fan of BlueParrott products, including their previous, similarly configured headsets, this one is special for a few reasons. First, the basics from the manufacturer: “BlueParrott S650-XT is our first 2-in-1 convertible headset from stereo to mono sound, engineered to give you superior call and sound performance both on and off the road. An ultra-noise cancelling mic removes 96% of background noise giving you crystal clear calls wherever you are. Focus on your calls with powerful Active Noise Cancellation (ANC) and keep the roar of the road at bay. Get the best of both worlds and switch from stereo to mono sound with a removable second earcup. The S650-XT has a battery life that can go the distance with up to 36 hours of talk time on a single charge. It also includes the customizable BlueParrott button which allows you to personalize your experience with Speed dial, Mute or Push-to-Talk. Hands-free voice controls lets you control the headset with just your voice so you can focus on the road. With the IP54 rated protection against dust and water, the S650-XT is truly roadworthy. Crystal-clear calls anywhere Ultra-noise-cancelling mic removes up to 96% of background noise*. *Verified by independent labs Best of both worlds Converts easily from stereo to mono sound with a removable second earcup. Silence the road Powerful Active Noise Cancellation (ANC) helps you focus on what you’re listening to. Built for life on the road With IP54-rated protection against dust and water, the S650-XT is truly roadworthy. Hands on the wheel, eyes on the road 100% hands-free voice control lets you direct the headset with just your voice.” Targeting road warriors including over-the-road truckers, this headset is said to offer outstanding ANC that rejects 96% of background noise. Imagine that! Just what a road warrior needs. With the ability to use just one of the speakers for monaural sound mode, this permits the other ear to be open. Then, out of the rig or in the sleeping area, or at home or in an office, connect the other speaker for closed-ear stereo-capable performance and isolation. Calls made in this mode cover both ears. With ANC on, the technology should reject virtually all background sound for the best voice calls possible. I have used previous BlueParrott models, which I have loved, so this new one with the convertible configuration offers added flexibility and versatility. The BlueParrott S650-XT performs the tasks that used to require two separate headsets. With its super-long battery life of up to 36 hours on a charge, users will not have to worry about running out of power on the busiest, longest work days when the headset is hardly off. Both ear speakers installed also means stereo music can be played. Another plus! The “pleather” ear cups are soft and supple and appear to be of good quality. More? Yes! The customizable BlueParrott button is ideal for the technically inclined who wish to take advantage of its capabilities. Choosing to use the button for call Mute or Speed Dial could prove really useful. The Push-to-Talk feature can be useful in some business situations on compatible systems, but it is not the norm. It pairs easily with your mobile phone by Bluetooth or NFT on some Android phones. While pairing with computers is possible, the manufacturer does not guarantee performance or provide support for connectivity issues. **WHAT’S IN THE BOX** • Headset with detachable speaker • USB-C charging cable • 3.5mm jack cable • 2 Microphone windscreens • Carrying case • Documentation **THE SETUP** Follow the directions! Pair with smartphone. Update Firmware as needed (it was). I had no issues simultaneously pairing with my computer and smartphone. However, playing streaming audio will occur with only the first device that makes the electronic call for audio. Pairing with two mobile phones offers the option to make and take calls on either device. More versatility comes from the option to use the included 3.5mm audio cable instead of Bluetooth connectivity to one device. A tap of the BlueParrott button, then asking, “What can I say?” prompts the headset to speak its script of useful voice commands. These include my favorite when a call comes in. The prompt is, “Call from xxx”, and then “Answer or ignore?” I love this layer of hands-free convenience. And now, it’s time to … **PUT IT TO THE TEST** What a pleasure! I set up the BlueParrott button as a Mute button. NO one heard the rush of the car’s air conditioning blower. No one commented on the music playing on the radio. With both earcups/speakers and HearThrough activated, I was able to be safe and to hear ambient sound, though I recommend using only one speaker while driving. Back at Gadget Central base, the TV was on at normal volume. When I spoke, I made sure to speak at a conversational volume. Only the slightest background noise from the TV was heard and only when I asked the other party. This was their observation and not a complaint. On went the other speaker. Now, it’s stereo music time. No, it is not audiophile sound, but it is more than acceptable for pleasurable listening to Apple Music on my iPhone. The S650-XT is said to be comfortable enough for all-day wear. Time will verify that this is so. Battery life is exemplary. Though I do not expect to need it, the IP54-rated protection against against dust and water is a nice touch. The track skip forward or back feature button is to be expected, but there is no way to pause a track from the headset. That must be done from the source, a normal situation. When a product just works, it is a pleasure to have and to use. BlueParrott S650-XT just works! Adjusting the headband for a most comfortable fit was easy. Simply bend the headband outward for less tension! One- and two-eared use has validated the value of both configurations in my hands-on. Calls are clear to both sides. ANC is effective. No one suspected a noisy background on any call, despite the sound of a loud TV nearby, live traffic sounds, or the cacophony of loud conversations within easy earshot. Using both earcups on the road is safely possible by pressing the ANC button to cycle to HearThrough that brings in ambient sound and mixed it to the wearer for awareness of sounds that could be important for safety’s sake. Even when wearing the headset all day, with either one or both speakers, it has been comfortable. I never felt there was too much pressure against my head nor did the headset easily fall off when I knelt forward. The controls worked perfectly. Not tested was the Push-to-Talk walkie-talkie functionality. I wonder how suitable this headset would be for air travel. Would the ANC block out the cabin noise well enough for this use? **CONCLUSION** BlueParrott S650-XT is a welcome addition to the BlueParrott lineup. The detachable speaker’s versatility is the major selling point over the model without it, B650-XT. Calls are clear to both sides. The aesthetics of such a bulky headset have to be measured against the value and usefulness to the user. THIS user gives it a big THUMBS UP. After all, what’s not to like? **WARRANTY** One year manufacturer’s warranty

This headset does it all and does it well. I was looking for a replacement for my wired Auto Noise Cancelling (ANC) headset that I use during travel, including on flights where my old wired ANC headset was not the best choice. This particular one is promoted on the Blue Parrot website as a "trucker's headset" meant for noisy road conditions. The headset provides all the form factors I need - a Bluetooth connection, an NFC connection option and a 3.5mm port for a wired connection. It is not battery-powered, like my old ANC headset, but rather provides a USB-A to USB-C charging port which will allow for charging on a flight or in a car. I downloaded the Blue Parrot app to perform the setup. I had no problems connecting to my phone, but the connection to my iPad was not successful at first. I emailed their support and got additional set up information which was not in the 4 pages of written instructions. I found I had to press longer than the 2 seconds and have the headset actually say "Pairing mode" before I could pair. I was successful in connecting my iPad which is what I will use onboard flights, so this headset meets my needs. You should be aware that the instructions warn that it does not connect to Bluetooth on all computers. I found this to be the ase with an older PC. As for the effectiveness of the nose cancellation, there is a noticeable difference which I pressed the the ANC/"hear through" switch function button. I found the ANC to be very good and should subdue almost any noise on flights. I also tested it on a long drive and found the "hear through" function to be exactly what I needed for listening while driving safely. The other functions worked well - skip tracks with buttons in front and rear, volume up and down in the rear, answer and reject calls on the rear and finally the Blue Parrot button is programmable using the app to enable various options. The only reason I could not give it five stars is that I found the headset to be uncomfortable after several hours of wear. My head is not large - hat size 7 - and yet it felt tight after several hours. I think comfort is a very important feature and I feel this headset falls short in this area. I will keep wearing it to see if it needs to break-in or if I need to keep adjusting until I find a better "sweet spot" on the adjustable headband. If you are considering this fine headset, I would make sure you can return it for full credit if you find the fit uncomfortable. It comes with a flexible microphone for both left-and right sides which moves completely out of the way when I am just listening to music or audiobooks. It comes with a very sturdy carrying case.. Overall, this is one of the best headsets I have ever used and hope that it either becomes more comfortable or Blue Parrot releases a more comfortable headband for this model.
