I had an old (15 years) Sonicare that was nearing the end. This boka is a great replacement! I think the vibrations are more refined if that make sense. The 3 speeds are great and I really like the charcoal infused brush heads. Also the way they are shaped, it seems like they reach behind my back teeth better. The way the charging base lights up is neat but the one thing it's lacking is cord storage. Maybe I can find a USB cable that's a foot long instead.

The Boka Electric Toothbrush is absolutely amazing. I get a fresh clean and smooth feel after each brush. Yes there are other electric toothbrushes out there, but this one looks and feels like a quality build. Not that it matters, but Boka put this unit in high quality proactive packaging. I would say it is more well protected than my new premium phone I bought which is at least 10 times the cost. In the package you get the brush handle (that uses a lithium ion rechargeable battery), 2 brushes with charcoal bristles, a charging dock, USB cable and AC adapter. It is purportedly suppose to last around 25 days on a full charge. This allows me to tuck away the USB cable and adapter for and just keep the brunch on the charging dock as a stand. The toothbrush allows for 3 different speeds, which I don't know why you want the slower speeds, the more vibrations per minute the cleaner your teeth, right? Perhaps to accommodate sensitive, so jokes aside, it is a nice feature. What I haven't seen on other brushes is the timed intervals. A lot of bushes will automatically turn off after two mins like the Boka brush, but what Boka sets itself apart by also having a brief pause after each 30 seconds so you know when to switch sides to keep an even cleaning on all sides. The two brushes are purportedly to last 3 months in total, requiring new brush heads ordered every quarter. Boka does shave off a few bucks if you subscribe to their plans, which they will automatically send you two new brush heads every quarter. There are additional plans that include other accessories like floss and toothpaste if you opt for the higher priced plans. I also like that this unit is pretty quiet in comparison to other electric toothbrushes. I did a side by side comparison with my wife's toothbrush and the difference is noticeable. So far, there has been no complaints and I would definitely recommend this electric toothbrush.

I got this to replace a worn out Oral B, from initial use the charge took a long time, almost a day, hopefully the charge lasts 25 days like it claims, I haven’t had it long enough yet to comment. The base looks cool when charging, led light around bottom . Base is magnetic but not a very strong one as it’s easily knocked off. The brush itself is very lightweight, plain modern design with a full size black charcoal brush head. Also runs very quiet. It pulses every 30 seconds for 2 minutes to let you know when to switch sections, there are three speeds. usb is the only way to charge it, the cord is removable so you can just use the stand. For me, I don’t feel like it gets my teeth as clean as my old brush because the bristles are much softer & I usually brush the inside teeth as well & when this hits the roof of my mouth it tickles so bad I can hardly stand it.

The Boka (Mouth) is a minimalist electric toothbrush with only one button, no lights, and just plain white. Let's be realistic though; it's a toothbrush, not a TV remote. But looks deceive with this unit, for under the minimalist shell is an ultrasonic motor with 3 levels of intensity, a lithium ion battery and wireless charging! The other popular brands charge almost double for similar features. I like how quiet it is, how easy it is to hold when wet thanks to the rubberized shell, and how easy it is to operate. There's no pressure sensor to bother you, no additional heads to buy to enable gums mode, no extra buttons or beeps, etc. Less to worry about during your morning routine when time is critical. The black charcoal bristles may or may not do anything special, but 42k speed is like getting a powerwash! Way better than my other Sonic brush!

This unit takes up very little space on the counter which is a bonus for me. Has a usb type charger which is convenient. I have used it multiple times on one charge. It does tickle a little in the beginning...could just be me but that's ok I just have to get used to it I have never used an electric brush before and now I won't go back. It was all packaged very nicely and came with 2 heads. I love the fact that it tells me when to move to the next section so I am brushing everything properly!! The brush is not too hard nor too soft which I was worried about. The three different settings makes it nice as not all people are the same. Once it learns your setting it will automatically go to it without any issue. It makes the 2 minute brush time fly by. Seems to be well built and made to last. The unit just sits on the base to charge. The base will glow as well as a light on the unit to let you know all is working and they turn off when it is fully charged. The unit is just the right size to take if going away for the weekend. Overall I am very pleased with this product and am considering a few as Christmas gifts for my daughter and fiancee!

This is a great electric toothbrush. It’s sleek in design and quiet in operation. The packaging is high end reminiscent of unboxing a smartphone. Battery has lasted a week so far and promises a month. The piece I like best is the base. I have a more expensive toothbrush by a well known brand that I love, but the base for it or prone to topple. This one is weighted great!! Stays where it should without moving around every time the cord is jostled. Three speeds and timer are basic and efficient. I recommend. It’s a “pretty” toothbrush that seems sturdy and well made for a great price!

Be ready for some tight packaging, getting everything out was a pain or needed someone with smaller fingers. I had a heck of a time getting the boxes separated then pulling out each piece within the small finger cut outs was crazy. I did not remove a star for this, just found it frustrating.
As far as he one lost star, I found that the two included brush heads was great but if you plan to share there is no distinguishing features to tell the two apart. Even the web site doesn't offer any that are different then one another.
I like the weight, clean lines and the cool charging base. The multiple speeds is a great idea and I picked the middle one. It will run for 2 minutes pulsing every 30 seconds to switch to a different area of your mouth. I just need to run it again to get the tongue and roof of my mouth. My mouth felt great after each use and I think I'm sold. I have had other battery tooth brushes in the past but I never ended up continually using them, I don't see that happening here though.

A new take on an electric toothbrush

I have to say that it took me a little while to really like this toothbrush! The first time I fired it up, I had to try to brush three or four times because my mouth did not like the extremely high frequency of the brush. I had been using another brand of electric toothbrush for years and was so used to the slow movement that using this one was almost to much of a shock!
After a few times of using it, my mouth became desensitized and now it would be pretty tough to go back to the old one.
The box gives the impression that there is some effort going into this product... it is very well finished and the toothbrush itself has a very clean design with only a single button and an LED to show it is being charged. The base also has a fairly bright LED ring around the bottom that seems almost too bright when the bathroom is dark. At first I thought it was a night light, but it does go off when the battery is charged.
While I am not sure of the longevity of the brush itself, the whole thing has a very upscale appearance and feels like it is very high quality. I will see how it stands up to use over the next few weeks. It is supposed to be activated charcoal but I am not sure how I can verify that! It does work well and has a shape similar to an old-fashioned toothbrush.
After getting used to the high frequency, I find it much more comfortable than any toothbrush I have ever used, with very soft bristles and it's speed allows it to glide over my gums instead of digging in like some other heads.
I still get a little tingle when I accidently run it over a part of my mouth that has not gotten used to the feeling. I'm sure that will go away as I get more time with it.
Having used three different brands of electric toothbrushes over the years, I can say that this one is by far my favorite and seems to do a very good job cleaning without thrashing my mouth. We'll see what my dentist has to say at the next visit!

Good but not perfect

I have been using an electric toothbrush for years now. Had two different brands, both well known and established on the market. I was happy with both. The reason why I got curious about Boka toothbrush was first it seems to be an innovative company (they have their own toothpaste which they claim is a completely different animal and also they offer a subscription model to get brush replacements), second that their toothbrush is a soft type, where my current toothbrush only comes in medium softness.
First the positives. The brush is really soft in a nice way which I find very advantageous. Some people have gums that need soft toothbrushes. Soft is also the most recommended type by many dentists. So it is soft, but not too soft, it holds its structure well when brushing while not pushing too hard on the gums. It is also very quiet, much quieter than what I use now. You can hear it but folks around you probably will not hear much, if anything at all.
The overall design seems to be focused on simplicity. That could be beneficial or confusing, depending on your personal preference. First charging and the battery charge level. For that you have a single light at the lower part of the toothbrush. The light is either on or off, single color based on what I have seen so far. You put it into the included charger stand and if it gets on, it shows (I am guessing, because there is nothing about the charging process in the attached instructions) that the charging is taking place. Once the brush is fully charged, the light goes off. But there is no indicator about how much of the charge remains, is it half, a quarter or something else. If I take it with me on an extended trip and forget the charger, I might get some anxiety about whether it will last the entire trip because there is no way to know how much charge is left on the brush.
I believe that in the name of simplicity there is only one button to put it on or off and also to change the type of vibration. You push the button once and brush starts. If you push it quickly after the first push, it changes the vibration type to somewhat more robust type. Quickly click the button one more and you will get the third type of vibration, most robust. But here are some issues with it, at least from my perspective. Say you start on the lowest level, wait 20 seconds and then want to change the vibration to a higher level. If you push the button now, the brush will just stop. You have to start the entire process from the beginning. Another scenario. Say you click the button to start it, then try to quickly change the vibration level and you click one click too many. The brush will not go from the highest level to the lowest, it will just stop.
Another quirk that I noticed is that this brush, like all others offer four intervals of 30 seconds to change the quadrant you’re brushing. Nothing new here, they all do that. But what is different, at least in comparison to what I know from other toothbrushes is that when that 30 seconds interval ends, the brush stops completely for a second. That is different from what other manufacturers that I know do. Others do not stop, just change the tone of vibration for a quick moment to let you know to switch to the next quadrant. This is not good nor bad, just different.
The instructions manual is very minimalistic. It covers just three areas, how to attach the brush, how to put toothpaste on the brush and how to brush. Nothing else. Nothing about charging, nothing about maintenance.
The toothbrush comes with two sets of brushes and they have the brush head cover on them for travel purposes, which is good. But there is no travel pouch included, unfortunately.
Overall the brush seems fine, it has soft brushes which for some people is a must. The brush replacements are relatively cheap when compared to the top market sharers. The brush operation is very quiet, relative to competition. The vibration is very gentle, which might be important for people who do not appreciate their teeth to be shaken too hard. I just wish that the operation process would be improved, possibly a separate button for putting it on and off and another button for changing the vibration intensity. If you can live with the quirks of it, it seems to be a great choice for an electric toothbrush.

This is my first electric toothbrush. My favorite feature is the 4-30 second timers so I can make sure each section of my mouth is evenly brushed. Also it doesn’t throw spit and toothpaste all over the mirror and sink like my significant others spin brush. I like the activated charcoal bristles. My mouth seems so much cleaner using this instead of a traditional brush. And the battery lasts long! Very happy with it my new brush!

Since this is a fairly simple product, this is a fairly simple review. None the less, this is still a great toothbrush.
Whats in the box? Brush handle, two brush heads, charging cable and charging dock.
Use: Very easy to use. 2 minute timer with interval reminders to change positions in your mouth. 3 intensities to use, and they are very easy to switch between. The charging stand is compact and simple to use.
Brush heads: The charcoal activated brush heads and what this toothbrush is all about. While they are a great softness, not too soft and not too firm, I'm not sold on what exactly the activated charcoal does. Maybe I haven't had it long enough to notice a difference.
Overall: Great electric bush, especially for the price. Not sold on the specialized brush heads yet, but I don't dislike them either.

First off, this isn't a bad electric toothbrush. The built-in rechargeable battery and magnetic charging base is and a clean, simple design. The tooth brush operates at 3 speeds of your choice and will pause briefly at 30 second intervals, turning off automatically at 2 minutes. It comes with two brush heads, both of which appear to be exactly the same.
So that all sounds good, but the overall performance isn't really impressive in my view. The brush heads are soft, so if you prefer a medium or even hard brush head, that isn't included. The brush head itself has no part of it that spins, rotates or moves. The Boka is just a straight vibrating from the base toothbrush, but does vibrate at a high speed. So high that it kind of feels odd to me. I've been using lesser electric/battery powered toothbrushes for several years and the Boka just doesn't seem to do that great of a job. I think I'll stick to my old faithful.

Simple in every sense of the word. Three settings that will largely depend on personal preference. Charging is simple and lasts a long time. Design is very cool, feel is of a strong well made quality product. It comes with the charger and two heads that also include to head covers that were very useful on our recent trip.

I've always wanted an electric toothbrush, and I'm so happy I finally got one. My teeth actually feel completely clean when I'm done, and I love the timer feature. Two minutes is a lot longer than we think.
The brush has a "pulse" action, which means it shuts off for a split second at 30 second intervals. I wish there was some other way to detect this, maybe by a split second increase in vibration or something.
I love that it is magnet rechargeable as well! Very handy, and much better than constantly using batteries. There is also no charging port to wear out due to this feature.
All in all, a great product that I thoroughly enjoy.

Better than using a manual brush

This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.
This brush provides me a cleaner and more efficiently clean mouth than manual brushing alone, but the ultra-sonic oscillations do take some getting used to. Unlike the brush that the dentist uses that rotates, this brush pulses/oscillates and roughly 30k oscillations per minute. Even on low, I found this to be a bit much for my sensitive gums. Perhaps this will subside over time as my mouth/teeth/gums adjust to this "feeling". The charging dock is nice and always provides me with a charged toothbrush without the hassle of batteries.
Apart from that, there's really nothing that sets this brush apart from the rest. While I would recommend this brush overall, there are others on the market that provide essentially the same features.

Good Toothbrush, But Will Not Replace My Current

To be fair, I think this toothbrush would be a great option for someone looking to get their first electric toothbrush, but with that said this didn't work as well for me and not better than my current electric toothbrush. The bristles on the charcoal brush head are very soft, which may be good for some but for me, it didn't do much to help remove my plaque. Plaque buildup is something I struggle with, which is why I visit the dentist twice as often as others for this reason I need a brush that replicates the dentist's chair a bit more than this does. As I have said, this brush is good and certainly a nice option (be aware the vibrations did also tickle the inside of my mouth a bit) but I wouldn't try to replace something ADA approved with this.

This Boka brush is my first venture into using an electric toothbrush. It took four attempts before I could tolerate the tickling sensation long enough to complete a cleaning cycle. Since I have the same issue when getting my teeth cleaned by a professional hygienist, I don't think it had any thing to do with the brush itself. I had the best success with the slower of the two brush speeds and found it quite clever that it automatically used the previous speed upon next use. Overall, the Boka Brush did a fine job of cleaning my teeth.

This a great toothbrush. It turbocharges your brushing at 30,000 cycles per minute! So you get cleaner teeth in a shorter amount of time...and less visits to the dentist! And the battery lasts forever.
I have had one problem with it. The company advertises "stainless-steel accents". Well, one of the "stainless-steel accents" at the base where the toothbrush connects came off. It's just cosmetic and doesn't affect function, but gluing it on is evidently not very effective.

Disappointed Overall

The products looks good and I like the brushing action although I find it less "vigorous" than I would like. Overall I have been disappointed question the quality of the brush; included was a "docking station" for charging, which is small but relatively heavy. I travel frequently and packed the brush, fully charged to take on trips. I frequently found that the brush would not switch on unless it had rested on the docking station for a couple of seconds i.e. it had not lost its charge but would not operate without being briefly rested on the docking station. I do not want to pack the docking station as well as the brush so could not "trust" the product to take it on a trip. I have also found that the white outer layer/ lacquer on the brush is peeling away and absorbing colors in my dopp bag. Overall it looks like a mess now; not a big deal, but shouldn't really happen to a well designed product. Contact with the Boka "Chief Happiness" team was also underwhelming. I also tried to submit a review to their website and over 3 weeks later it is still not posted, despite numerous others appearing in that time. Given that you can buy better quality, more reliable brushes from proven brands I question the benefit of this product/ company. Thanks for reading.
