The Tab A snaps into the cover and doesn't allow for any movement. The cover has a magnetic flap that securely fastens it when closed. It will also turn off the screen when you close it. It is a bit difficult at first to get the tab snapped into the cover but once secured it is fine.

Perfect cover but. . . .

Only later after reading a number of reviews that mentioned the same thing did I discover the tabs on the inside back cover. If Samsung would have made that more obvious in the packaging, I would have given it five stars.
