Terrific Pop Album

The new album by Lady Gaga takes a new direction from her previous work. "The Fame" was fun and dance floor ready, "The Fame Monster" was self-reflective and also had some great songs on there.
BTW is completely different: the sound, the lyrics, the song production. In her new album, Gaga blends Euro pop, disco, 80s stadium rock, and even some metal! I bought the Special Edition, but I would recommend the standard edition because as one reviewer noted, it contains the "meat" and the special edition just has the sides.
Lyrically, the album tackles identity, conformity, gay marriage, immigration, religion (not blatant or blasphemous in any way), fashion, liberation and freedom (on High Unicorn).
Overall, this a terrific album--not the album of the decade--but nonetheless it's a refreshing pop album in a sea of auto-tuned, factory churned pop albums that are being released nowadays. I hope this album has those other pop stars stepping their game up.
My personal favorites: the singles, Marry the Night, Government Hooker, Americano, Scheisse, Electric Chapel, and the masterpiece that is You and I! I highly recommend this album.
I cannot wait to hear what she releases next! Hopefully a jazz album to highlight her beautiful voice and have Clarence Clemons throughout (one can only dream).

A pop pastiche with a load of nostalgia

This is an album full of songs that covers the spectrum of everything that Lady Gaga likes about music over the past 30 - 40 years. Yearning for the essence of the 80's or 90's, even the 70's? Songs like "Hair", "Edge of Glory", "Highway Unicorn (Road to Love)", "Bad Kids", and "Marry the Night" will make you drop names such as Donna Summer, Pat Benatar, and Bruce Springsteen. There's the usual dance-pop like "Born This Way", "Judas", "Government Hooker", and "Sheiße". In other words, if you enjoy and appreciate pop music with a promiscuous ear like I do, then purchase this album!

Lady Gaga I have loved since the day she got discovered she's very talented and fashionable we all know. But this album is a little bit different it kind of talks about her new feeling in the music business. This album has two songs that have sounds in their that remind me of the 80's. It is also has poetry type lyrics . This album should have five stars It just came out today and consumers put three stars that's not cool with me I can't control that but I will give this album FIVE STARS! *****
Thank You

I say go with the Special Edition because it offers more value. But at only $7.99 this is still worth 5 stars and worth the buy! This edition has the MEAT of the Special Edition but without the side dishes that are quite tasty..lol. My review of the Special Edition is in the SE page. This album is excellent! All of my absolute favorites are here but you will enjoy the extras of the SE. I love this cover art!

I just can't wait for this!! Her newest album in 2 years, with 14 new tracks including her hit singles Born This Way and Judas + the song sang on American Idol, You and I. This is the album you might just have been waiting for.
