Good Dish Washer, Not Good Dish Dryer

The good: simple to use and it gets the dishes clean. The bad: There is no heated drying cycle, so dishes will be wet when finished cleaning. The way we get around this is as soon as the washer is done, open it up, dump any water out that has collected in concave areas of dishes, then close the door back with a dish towel propping it open a few inches. Then wait a couple hours. If you don't do this your dishes will need hand dried and also the interior of the washer remains wet. The longer the interior stays wet, the more everything will smell mildewy. Still getting used to the rack layouts. Things like plates and other flatter dishes fit well. Bowls, pots, pans, etc are tougher to arrange. I wouldnt recommend for folks who want to clean a lot of pots and pans. We're washing larger items by hand. If this is your max budget and you can be proactive with the extra drying steps then you'll be pretty happy with this washer. It seems to be pretty quality. There's a good chance we end up exchanging this for another. If there is a Bosch with a heated drying cycle for not too much more, then i'd be happy with that.

Be happier with a different dishwasher

We've been using this dishwasher for one year now. When it runs, it cleans our dishes well. Also, it hasn't required any maintenance in the past year, which is nice. However it is a frustrating and unremarkable dishwasher. The layout of the dishwasher makes it difficult to fit our regular dishes. It sometimes feels like playing the least fun game of Tetris getting everything in there. This dishwasher often doesn't start washing when we click start and it seems to go through Rinse Aid very quickly. The soap dispenser door will sometimes get caught on dishes too if the dishes overhang the top rack the slightest bit. I was happy with our previous Bosch dishwasher, which led me to purchase this one, but I'd be happier with a different dishwasher now.

We have always wanted a Bosch dishwasher and now we have one. This dishwasher is so quiet you don’t know it’s on and the dishes are spotless. The top rack is sturdy and much stronger than our other dishwasher. It’s so easy to use. I’ll never own another brand.

I love this dishwasher. It is so quiet that we have to be quiet in order to hear it running. The dishes come out so clean. I wasn't sure about the no disposer. It's great with the high power wash. A friend of ours just bought one for his house too.

I wanted something that was in the middle of the price range. Did some research before purchasing. Very pleased so far. Has to be the quietest dishwasher I have ever owned. Pleased with the cleaning results so far.

Had a very high end Kitchenaid, didn’t last 5 years. This is a far superior dishwasher, cleans dishes much better, quieter, and overall seems to be a much better built unit. Time will tell.

This is a very quiet dishwasher. It holds a lot of dishes, even has a special holder for stemed wine glasses. I really like the buttons on top. The sanitize feature is amazing. We really like the appearance of the dishwasher. Very pleased with our purchase.

Our old dishwasher was going out. I had already replaced both motors and decided it was time to get a new one. My wife and I researched options for a few weeks and decided this time we would go above the $500 price range, but not over $900. We read many reviews, settled on the needs vs. wants. Then subscribed to Good Housekeeping for 1 month to read the reviews of the "finalists" we had chosen. This was the winner in our book. It tells you in the manual not to pre-wash the dishes. We've had it for a month and have not pre-washed a thing. I have deliberately fed it cooked on egg, dried waffle batter, greasy pans, and dried red sauce with no problem. It's not a miracle worker, so we've had to put one or two dishes back through, but it really does an amazing job. So much time savings, so quiet, and the adjustable rack really comes in handy. When purchasing, you have to specify the model number. Why? There are two versions of this exact product at the same price. One is stocked everywhere, and lowes even has a specific product number (making it hard to compare products). That's not the one you want, Good Housekeeping Tested it and it scored 20% lower than this one. You want this one(SHX3AR75UC), and yes, you'll want to wait for them to order it. They'll try to push you to buy the one they have in stock. We purchased at Best Buy because it was the only place in a reasonable driving range that had it in their warehouse.

    Good and bad

I checked many reviews and finally decided on this bosch because it had good reviews and was a consumer reports best buy for mid-price dishwashers. The Good; This dishwasher cleans very well. My dishes and utensils come out perfectly clean. It is also very quiet running. My husband even started to open it to but a cup in and didnt realize that it was already running. The Bad: While the top rack is adjustable, it only adjusts down. This means I have been unable to load cookie sheets and pots and pans as they interefere with the spray arm. I am also unable to load them in the top rack with the rack lowered. I have had to do pots pans and sheets by hand since installing this dishwasher. It also feels like the racks are smaller than my old dishwasher. Perhaps this is because of the additional insulation, which makes it quieter? I like the dishwasher, but don’t like that my cookware will not fit in.

We bought this to replace an approximately 10 year old Bosch that came with the house. This was seems to clean better. The racks seem a little harder to load with bowls and other oddly-shaped items. Dishes seem to dry a little better than in the old one, but I still would trade a few dB of noise for a vent to let out the moisture. The controls a little confusing. You have to turn on the washer, then push "Start" to get it running. We forget that all the time. The only indication that the washer has been started is a single light that goes from blinking to steady (or vice versa?). We forget to turn it on at least once a week.

Very happy with this dishwasher and Best Buy prices and delivery and installation. Looks great and is VERY quiet. It has a short cycle that runs just 30 minutes and is adequate for our purposes because we pre-rinse our dishes. Let me address some of the complaints I saw on other reviews. 1) Some people have said it has a bad odor. I suspect they previously had a dishwasher with a self-cleaning filter (I did) and they have not cleaned the filter. It is very easy to clean periodically and should stop any odor problem. 2) No dry cycle. True. My prior dishwasher had a dry cycle but if you are sure to keep the rinse aid filled and let the dishes remain in the dishwasher for a little while after the cycle ends most will be dry, the exception being the tops of items that are concave like some glasses or bowls. An indicator light reminds you to refill the rinse aid when it is low. 3) Low capacity. I will admit it takes a little practice to load efficiently. It will accept many dishes, but bowls are a little tricky because of the close placement of the tines, although some fold flat. My only complaint is there is no signal that the dishes are clean once the cycle has completed. It does beep but once the beep stops there is no indication as to whether the dishes inside are clean or dirty. My old dishwasher had an indicator light that stayed on until you opened the door. I read that some Bosch models have a red LED that shines on the floor but this model does not. All in all a very nice dishwasher for the Best Buy price. Recommend

I have had this dishwasher for just over a month so far and I love it! It is easy to load and easy to use and dishes get perfectly clean every time. I chose this machine with help from Consumer Reports - rated as a Best Value on top of a very high overall rating. It is super quiet and even gets tough calcium build up off my glassware.

We really needed a quiet dishwasher as our kitchen is open to the great room. This dishwasher really is quiet. It washes well, although it seems to take forever on all cycles. It doesn't seem to dry the dishes very well, even though we keep the Jet Dry full all the time. It's an inconvenience, but I wouldn't return it just because of that. The design of the racks is not what I would choose. Seems awkward to load and not very efficient.

    Stainless looking front panel issues

Okay, my other half wanted me to get Bosch because he said he had one at his previous home and said it is quiet. I will give it that. He did not tell me that the soap dispenser quits within a year and needs to replaced! I am grateful that it malfunctions within the one year warranty period so it was covered by Bosch. That was cool. At the time that we were redoing our kitchen I ordered all of our appliances new, in the stainless look. All of our appliances ordered were GE, their stainless held up and stays clean and nice, we occasionally treat it with CeramaBrite Stainless cleaner and polish. The Bosch on the other hand looks terrible. If I would have known this I would have bought a black dishwasher or perhaps a GE dishwasher. It performs well, it's just the unsightly looks, rusting and ugly!!!!!

Nice washer. Very quiet. Runs well and installed easily. Some minor things not perfect thought. First, the stop alarm keeps beeping. It would be great if it just beep once and stop without human operation. Second, the washer won't automatically shut down after wash. Third, the rack is only for flat dishes. If you have any dish with certain depth, it is very hard to place it without touching others. Overall, the washer is good but can't load as much as my old one.

Overall, this dishwasher is fantastic. It's so quiet that I have a hard time even knowing if it is running. It's a bit smaller than what I had previously, but it does a fantastic job cleaning the dishes. I now use a rinse aid and there are no spots on the dishes. The only (little) complaint is that the buttons on the top seem a little cheap in quality. Otherwise, it's a great buy.

I chose this bosch ascenta dishwasher because it got the top rating from consumer reports. Quietness is my top requirement. Thisr epaced a -ten yr old Siemens(basicially a bosch in sheep's clothing) that was also quiet I like the loading pattern of new bosch. Cleans well, What don't I like: wish the bottom rack was not so inclined to jump the stops and fly off the rails, but have to find the time to have a service person look at it. I say go for it if you want a bosch. Has nylon racks which won't chip or peel and leave you with rust spots on dishes.

This Bosch does a really good job at doing what it is suppossed to do... get dishes clean. However, there are a few minor things I do not like. The lack of an indicator light to tell you where it is during a cycle is kind of annoying. Also the racks are very small. Overall though, this unit gets the dishes very clean and is a great option at this price point.

After our old dishwasher died, we were looking for a modern dishwasher without spending a lot of money. After researching brands and models on a popular ratings website, we decided on this one. First, this model is super quiet. Some have said it wasn't that quiet but in my opinion, it is much quieter than I expected! Second, it has plenty of space inside. We are a family of seven and even though we run the dishwasher usually twice a day, we are able to fit many place settings inside. The plates and silverware come out very clean. Note that you get what you pay for when using dishwashing detergent so don't use the cheapest! I definitely recommend this dishwasher.
