Customers regard the Ascenta 24" Tall Tub Built-In Dishwasher with Stainless-Steel Tub as exceptionally quiet and effective at cleaning dishes. Many appreciate its large capacity, making it easy to load a full set of dishes and cookware. However, some users have expressed concerns about the sturdiness of the racks and the potential for water pump issues. The dishwasher's sleek appearance and ease of use are also frequently noted.

A great brand name at a great price point.

I knew the brand name was known for its quality and durability, but didn't expect to own one within my budget.
POSITIVE FACTORS:
Other than a plastic tub base, the rest of the unit is polished metal. When running, it is very quiet, miserly in water usage and cleans very well. The interior top rack is adjustable, complete with fold down tines. Instead of a waste food grinder, it uses a very efficient filter that's easy to access and clean. As we live in the country and have a septic system, this type of food disposal is a welcome benefit. All controls are located on the top of the door and hidden when closed, so children cannot access them. Because it's so quiet, you wouldn't know when the cycle was complete, which is why it has a red light that shines on the floor when running, and turns off when complete. We absolutely love it.
NEGATIVE FACTORS:
Unless you do not mind water spots, you MUST use Jet Dry. because of its green operation, it uses less water and less power to operate. Not a problem for us, but may be one for others who do not wish to use a liquid spot prevention additive. Even the most food laden pots and pans come clean, but you'll want to use Jet Dry to avoid water spots.
Secondly, the bottom rack if not pulled out correctly can run off its track. Not an issue oncec you figure it out.
CONCLUSION:
I would buy this again without so much as a second thought. An incredible buy at a great price point.

The dishwasher works really well, is very quiet, but the racks inside are not very user friendly (they have a strange configuration which makes it difficult to load the dishes). It is also much smaller than the Kenmore we had before this unit.

Quite Dishwasher Poor Loadability and Cleaning

I would never buy a Bosch Dishwasher ever again. It is quite and for that it deserves 5 stars. However, because all the rack loading is angled, you cannot load the machine fully. Also, it does not clean well compared to my last dishwashwer. Again, due to how poorly this loads the dishes don't clean well, even when following the manufactures recommendations. At least in my old dish washer I could load twice the dishes and they came out clean. I could load pans with hamburger fried into it and it would clean. It was a $300 Whirlpool. There is not one decent slot to load a frying pan in the dishwasher. If there is any melted cheese on glass plates, it does not come off. I always rinse/ scour all dishes that have any cheese, spaghetti sauce or other food particles on it to make sure they come out clean. Also, the handle on the left side is already cracked. I don't know what I am going to do if the handle breaks off because of how it opens. I have had this dishwasher for almost a year. If I could have returned it - I would have. We did try to return this with in the first two weeks of purchasing, but the location I worked with stated we were past the deadline and all their policies to return. Even my husband does not like this dishwasher. I could care less if the dishwasher is quite if it does not clean, which is the first purpose of a dishwasher. Most the time now I wash the dishes by hand. I will go back to a cheap Whirlpool dishwasher when this one quits working. This is the first appliance that I have purchased in 20 years that I disliked so much. When shopping for a dishwasher, look at how dishes can be stacked and loaded, because apparently I did not do this as well as I should have. Also I don't recommend one with a handle. My handle is already cracking. I also think it is lame that the timer has a visual read/ screen when you can't even see it when it is running since it faces the counter top. I require a dishwasher with high capacity and this is not it. Again, first time I wanted to ever return a dishwasher. I waited this long to put in my review because I was hoping it would work better or by loading per the manufacture recommendations it would clean better. So far this has not proven to be the case. If you are not a high capacity user, this dishwasher might work just fine for you.

Once you have a Bosch, you will never have another brand. It cleans better than anything I have known before. It is also very quiet.I know it is more expensive, but the quality is unmatched. To me a refrigerator is a refrigerator but dishwashers are not the same. Once you experience how incredibility clean your dishes become, you'll be convinced. Great product.

Postive
Very quiet dishwasher,
Great results, with 1/2 the detergent we used on the 6 year old Whirpool it replaced.
fairly painless to clean
Negative:
Rack spacing awful , just about anything you put in the bottom impedes the spray arm. the bottom just isn't tall enough :( yes you can raise it but, I still feel it's cramped in relation to the US designed ones. extended controls are hidden , e.g, need manual to get the right settings, sure it's not used that much just frustrating.
Lower rack derails easily

We replaced our old dishwasher that was only 3 years old. The dishes weren't clean (and I ALWAYS) prewashed them before I put them in. We knew we wanted a Bosch because the product reviews were some of the absolute best and we picked this model because it had an extra dry cycle. So many of the new dishwashers with stainless tubs don't have dry cycles. We love it - dishes have never been so clean! I saw reviews that said they didn't like the way the tines were because it made it hard to load. I personally don't mind them at all and I'm getting a lot more dishes in my dishwasher than I previously did with my old one. Don't be afraid to get this dishwasher. It's a gem!

The unit is extremely quiet and cleans very well (except in the front right corner in front of the silverware tray - don't put tall items in that space). The layout of the racks give plenty of options for placement of dishes. My only significant complaint is that when pulling out the bottom rack, one must be very careful to pull straight out. Any slight sideways force can cause the front wheels to miss the track when transitioning between the inside track and the door. It can then fall over the edge of the unit, occasionally popping the wheels off. (I replaced the front wheels with the wheels from my old dishwasher of another brand that were a bit larger and shaped differently, and that greatly improved the situation.)

Absolutely love it. For the money it is fantastic. Machine is very quiet, it dries well, although I saw complaints in other reviews I disagree with these. I have no problem with the bottom rack, others complained about that. I don't know how hard people whip out the rack, but I've had no problem with it coming off. Bosch gives you a guide on how to load dishwasher to maximize space, very well thought out. Our installer told us it's the best dishwasher he's seen for the money.

I've had this dishwasher for a month. It fits lots of dishes, it's super quiet and leaves dishes so much cleaner than my last Frigidaire washer. Haven't had any problems with it after running it once a day.

New dishwasher is remarkably and blissfully quiet, and seems to be doing good job of cleaning. Only issue: we should have brought some of our daily glassware to the store to see how they fit. Because the glasses don't fit as easily as they did in the old dishwasher, it holds less and thus has to be run more often. Would thus recommend this product (or any other dishwasher) with the advice that it be tested for size and capacity.

Not all Ascentas are alike! I had originally ordered this DW when the one I had hoped to get (Consumer Reports best buy) was out of stock and would be a few more weeks to get. I thought this was part of the same series, but it is not. I ended up getting the SHE3AR75UC, which is part of the highly rated (from Consumer Reports) Bosch dishwashers. I think the rating difference was an 81 for this line vs. 64 for the one I originally ordered. Had it just a few weeks, but so far, it is amazingly quiet, and does a great job cleaning. Drying has been fine too, which was a concern given what I had read in earlier reviews. Still working to figure out how to load it best. My model has the buttons on the front--I'm fine with that versus the super sleek models.

This dishwasher is so much more than an attractive addition to my kitchen. It does an astoundingly good job and is so quiet I wouldn't even know it's running if not for the red indicator light and occasional gurgle of draining water. I like that the top rack adjusts and that the tines are well designed and placed for loading various sizes of dishes. I do get fingerprint smudges on the outside but they are easily removed with a damp microfiber cloth. Very happy with my purchase.

This is my second Bosch dishwasher for our vacation condo...I put up with a loud 5 year old GE Profile that never cleaned well and had a replacement part installed due to a fire concern on a recall. The Bosch is the most quiet dishwasher and it really cleans our dishes...even removing the cloudy spots left on by the GE product.
I hoped for 5 years my dishwasher would break and finally it really didn't clean well enough for any of us to stomach the headache any longer. Best Buy had a great sale and I jumped at replacing it with the Bosch, we're all sorry we didn't do it sooner.
Bosch really makes a difference in our open floor concept condo with hard surfaces everywhere (floors and counters). We can actually hear the TV or have a normal level conversation without turning up the TV volume or raising our voices to have a normal conversation.
Best Buy installers were fast and pleasant, and took the loud, under performing dishwasher away.

This is the second Bosch dishwasher we bought in a year(this one's for our vacation home)... very happy with ease of operation and high dish capacity. My other one at home has the third shelf for knives etc... very useful but blocks taller items. This dw is extremely quiet, if it didn't have a pilot light you may not know it's running! Happy zzz's! I would be happy to recommend to anyone. :) :) :) happy, happy, happy!

This is really annoying: when you pull out the bottom basket to load or unload, there aren't any guards to prevent the basket from falling sideways off the open door that serves as the rest for the basket. This is an extremely bad design flaw in an otherwise fine dishwasher that does an excellent job and is so quiet you have to look at the red light the machine shines onto the floor or show you it is running. No excuse : even my 20 year old kitchen aid was designed better. I intend to contact Bosch about this, and advise not to purchase this model until they correct this very serious design omission.

I love how quiet this DW is and how much cleaner my dishes are than with my old one. If I could change one thing it would just be changing the racks (mostly the bottom) to better accommodate the items I frequently wash. However, of the many dishwashers I looked at while shopping, they all seemed to have nearly the same style racks. Also, I really love the sleekness of it; the control panel is hidden and very easy to use.

Over all the unit is quite and does a good job of cleaning. Am disappointed wit the lower rack. It has a tendency to come off track. Not a big deal for me but my wife complains often about the design of this feature.
