My experience with these speakers has been great overall — they deliver impressive sound, set up easily, and have that sleek, modern Bose design that feels premium without trying too hard. Setting up the Lifestyle Ultra speakers was completely smooth. The Bose app, which is required for configuration, gave me no problems. Everything was up and running within a few minutes. The app made it easy to pair speakers, flip left/right channels, and adjust for room placement. As rear surround speakers in my living room system, the Ultras have been fantastic. Watching movies and TV shows, I heard subtle sound effects and background details that brought a truly immersive experience. I was very worried about these being weak, drab, and non-existent like all the other rear surrounds I’ve heard paired with soundbars. Honestly, even my last pair of surrounds didn’t sound this good, and they were part of a 5.1 home theater system I put together. I think their problem was that I never sat down to figure out the best settings. I had no such problem with the Lifestyle Ultra system. The drivers are robust, making explosions and the overall experience sound fuller and more engulfing. Two front‑facing drivers handle the mid‑range and high‑frequency output, producing clear highs and balanced mids. Also, one upward‑firing driver (a tweeter) that projects sound toward the ceiling, enhancing spatial audio and creating a wider, more enveloping soundstage. The design is modern and non-obtrusive. They are oval-shaped with a mesh cover and touch controls on top. Using them as a stereo pair for music in their permanent spots in my living room, behind the couch, I was impressed by the wide, clear soundstage. While I did expect them to outperform other wireless smart speakers and displays, they came surprisingly close to being the best speaker pair I’ve owned overall. They have good bass and clarity. I mean, they’re not powerhouse speakers, but they’re fantastic for wirelessly streaming music and as rear surround speakers. Moving between music and movie or TV genres, they proved they could keep up. The sound stayed crisp with no noticeable lag and kept up in the bass department. I have them paired with my Bose Lifestyle Ultra soundbar and subwoofer, but you can set them up in separate rooms or pair them up separately from the soundbar. It doesn’t seem you can pair the speakers and subwoofer on their own, based on what I’ve read on the Bose site and tech review sites. The cords are long, and the connections are secure. Bose chose to use C7/C8 coupler connectors, aka figure-8" or "infinity" connectors. I like that they’re not hard-wired or some proprietary junk. The cords can be replaced easily if needed. Streaming is seamless, and you have all the major wireless options with Spotify Connect, Bluetooth, and Google Cast—your phone hands off music directly to the speakers, freeing it up for other tasks. The wireless flexibility and multi-room sync are very cool features. You can place multiple Ultra speakers throughout your home if you want. Bose sells metal stands and wall brackets. Alexa is built in, but more voice assistant options would be nice. For me, these speakers really shine in a home theater setup, especially when paired with the Bose Lifestyle soundbar and subwoofer. They outperform almost any wireless surround speakers I’ve tried, easily rivaling or surpassing my previous 5.1 wired home theater—without the hassle of cables. On the downside, no Google Assistant support yet. I really wanted the option to choose. It would have been incredible if you could have both smart assistants listening and waiting, but this is probably not the product for that. The price is definitely premium, but the sound performance, flexibility, and design largely justify it. Overall, the Bose Lifestyle Ultra speakers deliver. They really impressed me with their immersive sound, whether I was streaming music or watching movies. They blend right into my living room. If you’re looking to upgrade your audio, these are a strong choice I’d recommend. If you already have the Bose Ultra soundbar and subwoofer, then the speakers are a no-brainer. They elevate the whole setup. I’m very happy with Bose’s latest.

This Bose speaker is one of the absolute best that I have bought, considering the cost of every other speaker I’ve tried I should have just thrown in on this one along time ago. Absolutely amazing sound.

I originally set these Bose Lifestyle Ultra Speakers up as a standalone stereo pair through the Bose app before adding them into the full home theater system, and I was honestly impressed by how good they sounded on their own. The sound signature feels warm and full, and they get surprisingly powerful for their size. I tested a bunch of different music including Streetlight Manifesto, Eminem, J. Cole, and several other genres, and everything sounded great. These speakers do a really good job filling the room without sounding harsh or overly bright. That said, adding them into the full home theater setup completely changed the experience. One of the coolest things is how accurately sounds move around the room. For example, if a car speeds behind the camera from left to right, you actually hear it move behind you and transition across the room naturally. It makes movies feel much more immersive and cinematic. Watching Interstellar with the full setup was incredible. The surround effects combined with the Dolby Atmos soundbar made the room feel huge. These speakers really complete the experience. Setup was also super easy. Since they are wireless, you only need power for each speaker, and the included power cables are long enough to make placement flexible. I personally have mine on bookshelves, but they would also work great on speaker stands. Not needing traditional speaker wire running across the room is a massive plus for me. Design-wise, they have that classic Bose black speaker look that blends easily into modern spaces. They look sleek without drawing too much attention to themselves. Another feature I really like is that the speakers and soundbar support Google Cast and AirPlay, and they can also be grouped with other compatible speakers through those ecosystems. That adds a lot of flexibility beyond just home theater use. Once connected, the speakers have been stable with no disconnects or audio delay issues. Overall, these speakers are small but seriously powerful. If you already own the Bose Ultra Soundbar, I would absolutely recommend adding these to complete the setup. They make a huge difference for surround immersion and also work great as a standalone stereo pair for music listening.

Most of my experience with Bose is with music. I find their products to be balanced and rich. The Bose Lifestyle Ultra speaker continues that tradition. I have two of these in a stereo array and the presentation is very satisfying. First the pair appears very small compared to other options in the market yet when I pipe sound through them they sound so much larger. They have height channels pointing up as well as two drivers on the front. There is a fabric type cover on the front but it seems to be a good quality. The controls on the top are just right, not too much but easy to use even if you aren’t looking at them. I set them up in the Bose app on my phone and it’s connected by Bluetooth. The set up was smooth and it automatically checked for updates before releasing them. When you send music to them your phone’s controls are used. You also have a few sliders in the app that allows for and equalization as well as adjusting the height channels for your ceiling height. After some tweaking I find the sound to be full and the height channels do give you the Atmos effect. I have also used these in a sound system as rear channels. They standout as broad sound stage behind you. Bose has a calibration tool in the app that allows you to balance the sound this way, and it does work well. I really like these. They are versatile. And if you have other Bose products they can easily become a part of the family for whole home sound.

I really love the look of the Bose Lifestyle Ultra collection. This sub is no exception. It’s not new that Bose uses glass and fabric to provide a really good looking product, but I also like the size of this sub. What I was worried about its performance considering its size but I have been pleasantly surprised. The sub of course pairs with the Lifestyle Ultra soundbar and I generally prefer that combination because soundbars tend to not have the low frequency performance that I want. So when I paired the two in the app there was not complication. Everything set up properly the first time. The app opens up some opens to balance the sound. You get the three band equalizer and that does allow the balancing of the mids into the bass level. You also get an intensity slider for the sub and this sort of lets you blend the bass into the overall sound stage but also gives you the ability to have a night mode sort of setting. You still get the low frequencies but less intense and that makes it easier to watch when the house is all asleep. This sub is more than enough to give you the feel of the sound while the soundbar creates the stage.

Just for clarity these Ultra speakers were combined with the Lifestyle Ultra speakers and soundbar. But this review will mostly just cover the Bose Life Ultra Subwoofer. First thing I noticed with this subwoofer was the weight, its a tank at 33lbs. That doesnt always indicate quality, but when you have a super light sub dont expect much. So I was already pretty sure it was going to thump, and I was right. There is no remote so all the setup and settings are controlled within the Bose app. And I am happy to say Bose knows hot to create a very user friendly app. All set up in minutes. The subwoofer itself looks cool and matches the other components in the Lifestyle system. I love the matte black finish. Before I tried the whole combo system I ran just the sub for awhile and it sounds amazing. I do not like overly boomy base that carries longer then it should. I live solid, tight, accurate bass, and Bose nailed that sound here. Movie explosions, bassy music, and gunshots in video games sound so good. And once its combined with the full Lifestyle system I dont think Ive ever hear better surround and overall sound quality. Locating people in games, etc, is so easy here. Overall I could not love this system more. Its the best Ive heard, and probably will be for years to come. Bose easily earns their reputation for top notch sound and I highly recommend this sub, but also the whole system.

Just for clarity these Ultra speakers were combined with the Lifestyle Subwoofer and soundbar. But this review will mostly just cover the Ultra Wireless speakers. Unboxing and setup was as simple as it gets using Boses great app. Following it step by step got me up and running in no time. And since these are wireless it takes even less time since you dont have to run long wires. Once set up and in the app you can do all your settings and tweaking the sound to your preference. Its so helpful to have an app that has things laid out in an easy to follow manner. The speakers themselves look great and of course match the sub and soundbars look. All combined it looks great. Once set up I tried just the Ultra speakers alone and was blown away at the sound quality. All I kept thinking was “Wow if these alone sound this good imagine the combo all together”. I am not a fan of base and speakers that rumble. I always prefer and more flat, tight, and accurate sound. And Bose nailed that here. Music, movies, and my gaming all sounds so good. And the combined system makes surround almost theater like. I cant wait to have a get together to brag about these and demo them for friends. If you are like me and really love good quality sound look no further. Bose took care of the heavy work, now its up to you!

So I got these to replace my current setup in my bedroom, and WOW was it an amazing upgrade. Setup: Having a smartphone is needed from what I can see, or at least a tablet. You will need to get this setup with an app to get the best experience, and I just don't like that. However, the app is super easy to understand, and most non tech savvy people can do it. Position of the speakers: I put them in my room to face me, and I'm glad I did...simply amazing sound quality. BOSE has always been one of my favorites, dating back for years. These speaker show just how much they have come along over the past several years. Bass; treble, mids, highs, lows...all there. You will hear everything when you are enjoying music, watching TV, or just watching a movie. Build Quality: Well, it's Bose...so you know it's good. The speaker are kinda heavy, but in a good way. I LOVE the fit and finish of them, along with the premium design language that they have. Price: For what you get, these are totally worth it. Get the complete setup NOW!

This speaker set is fantastic product if you want to add rear speakers to your soundbar, setup as stand-alone stereo speakers, or add as part of a whole home audio system. I wanted to see how these speakers worked in stereo and if I could use them when I wanted to grill out outside with the family and friends or just jam out in the living room. No problem. They’re small enough that you pick up and move around and can easily find room for them on a table, but large enough to fill a room with quality music and sound. I was able to connect them via Bluetooth and used the app to set them up in stereo. The cables are long enough you don’t have a hard time finding an outlet. I thoroughly enjoyed jamming out to my favorite tunes, and it gets loud enough, that my wife asked me to turn them down some when jamming out nearly full volume. They’re not going to blow your windows out, but they work well to bring mood to any room or activity. You can also airplay or google cast from your phone which makes forgetting the aux cable easy and makes me want to use them more often from my phone. If you have the Bose Lifestyle Ultra sound bar, I recommend setting them up as part of your home audio, all wirelessly of course. Having the speakers behind us on the left and right add a level of immersion that has you looking over your shoulder. Using the app, you can combine them with your soundbar, creating a home theatre configuration to enhance your movie/show watching experience. As for the design, they’re oval shaped and can easily nestle in the back of the room if you want to integrate them with your homes aesthetic. They can easily blend in or can stand on their own with a neutral but modern design that easily fits into any home. I do like how you can get stands for the speakers or wall mounts if you prefer that type of integration, there is a threaded opening on the bottom for mounting. Controls are on the top and use haptic buttons for Bluetooth and an action button, along with physical pause and play buttons, volume up and down. You can also control the volume haptically by rotating clockwise or counter clockwise on the light ring to quickly adjust volume. I love the versatility of these speakers and options you have, whether you want a single one for each room, multiple for whole home sound, or use in a pair for stereo or as part of your soundbar home theatre.

I reviewed these Bose Lifestyle Ultra speakers as part of my full review of the soundbar and subwoofer setup. Before I set these up as part of the full system I set them up individually and paired 2 of them for stereo. First off, these speakers look fantastic. They use the same design language as the soundbar with rounded corners and a raised panel on the front covered in the same knit fabric. On top of the speakers are capacitive controls for volume, play/pause, Bluetooth and an off control for the microphone. These need to be plugged in to power but do no longer have large external power supplies like the previous models. The biggest change is the up-firing driver for more spatial sound and Dolby Atmos when integrated into the full surround system. Set up was easy using the Bose app. The app finds the speakers and has you connect to Wi-Fi at which point you can set them up to use as a stand-alone speaker, paired for stereo or integrated with the soundbar and subwoofer for a complete system. Before setting these up with the soundbar I configured them for single use and paired use. These speakers sound great. Bose uses the same Quiet Port technology in these as with the subwoofer and the bass is well produced without sounding boomy or muddy and the addition of the up-firing speaker makes for a very open sound. It is not clear whether or not you can pair the subwoofer with these without the soundbar. That would be a nice feature especially if you are connecting a turntable. The speakers support Alexa, Google cast, Air Play, Spotify and Bluetooth. Music sounds great and Alexa and Cast worked flawlessly. The speakers can be set up in separate rooms or paired in a single room. A feature that really stands out is the inclusion of a 3.5mm input that allows you to connect a turntable or CD player. The app allows you to adjust the bass, midrange, treble and height of the up-firing speakers when using as stand alone or paired speakers but not when using them as part of the surround system. I find this odd as you can adjust the height of the soundbar up-firing speakers but can’t independently adjust the height of the rear speakers. After testing these as stand-alone speakers, I put them into the surround system with the soundbar and subwoofer and these absolutely made the system. These sound great and add a much-needed upward firing effect for Dolby Atmos. Although these are not portable speakers if you have a use case where having them plugged in all the time is not an issue these easily compete with some of the best portable speakers on the market. I have several portable speakers at this price point or higher and these perform as well or better and the inclusion of Alexa is a real bonus. If Bose makes it possible to use a second set of these as front channel speakers with the soundbar it will be amazing.
