You should definitely be getting outstanding sound quality from those headphones, and we would like to help you with that. If there is a new battery in the headphones, the cable ends are clean, and the cable is fully inserted, there may be something else going on with the headphones that is affecting the sound. Even with the price, it is the best and most comfortable headphones I have owned. I wore these on a bus and planes and they work wonderfully, effectively blocking out the roar of traveling on highways and in the air. I have used them for up to 14 hour flights, and they work wonders in helping me get rest and they improve the movie watching experience for in flight entertainment! You can still hear talking and some noise, but they really reduce the white noise you hear around you. You can hear music in improve quality and hear all background instruments. My favorite songs sounded completely new! The pressure around the ears were comfortable and I only had to adjust a couple of times. The headphones run on 1 AAA battery, so I just stocked up and kept them ready. They last very long and the good part is that these headphones can run without without battery power (but, noise cancelling will be turned off for that). Overall, a great buy if you have a need for good noise cancelling headphones and care about your listening quality.

It is too late to return to best buy...bummer
