Defective switch at one year
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Worked fine for a year then they started turning on by themselves interrupting calls and draining the battery. Reviewing the problem online seems like it’s a pervasive problem that Bose mitigates by offering a 10% discount on a new pair. Over $300 is steep for one year’s use.

Best Headphones I've Ever Owned
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. These are easily the best headphones I've ever owned including my previous pairs of Bose noice cancelling headphones. While I wish they were a bit more compact, there is really nothing else negative I can say about these bad boys. The sound quality both with and without the noise cancellation enabled is outstanding. No matter what I'm doing, whether it's sitting in front of my monitor on a boring work Zoom meeting or watching a movie 30,000 feet in the air, the sound is crystal clear and all surrounding extra curricular sounds are perfectly blocked out. I can't say enough good things about these headphones and strongly reccomend them.

Not worth the money
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Bought these looking for a great pair of noise cancelling headphones.... sadly, very disappointed. The overall sound quality was sincerely lacking, and the noise cancelling feature simply does not exist. For the amount of money these cost, definitely NOT worth it. Ended up returning them.

Lost Sound after 18 months
||Posted . Owned for 1 year when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I love Bose, but for the 300+ I spent I would expect the headphones to last more than an year and a half. I lost sound in my left ear. Being that it was out of warranty, they tried to give me a replacement for 250. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY!!!

Nice evolution of ANC Over Ear Headphone Standard
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Having used Active Noise Cancellation headphones from Bose for years, this wireless and wired version is an obvious next step for the product. The audio quality is pleasing at times, depending on level. Obviously, garbage in garbage out. However even with high quality recordings, the tonal balance curve can effect the low frequency balance. That said, they are easily in a higher, different league from the trendy head phone of the day that so many seem to like more for the looks than the sound. It's actually a sign that there are a lot of consumers that may not know what high quality audio should sound like, or they don't care, or perhaps the expected and preferred sound of poor audio is actually preferred by the newer generations that never had the recordings of there era produced when fidelity was king. One thing is for sure, These Headphone are by and large more accurate then most hyped consumer headphones. Battery life for me was not close to 20 hours, obviously the levels and features used will effect battery life, no problem lasting through an 8 hour flight. These are not audiophile headphones, They are one of the best examples of a high quality wireless headphone system to date.

Great Headphones DO NOT BUY PROTECTION
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. These headphones sound amazing and noise cancelling is awesome. But please DO NOT buy the 90 dollar protection. Bose will replace for free if you have any issues. The switch did fail on me and my headphones would never turn off until battery died. Went to best buy for replacement with the Geek Squad protection and they were making me pay the difference for the SAME product. I had gotten a discount on the headphones when I first bought them and they wanted me to pay the difference between full price now. Called Bose and they are replacing with the NEW version 2 even though I have the original verision. PRODUCT = 5 STARS BESTBUY SERVICE (TUTTLE CROSSING DUBLIN, OH BESTBUY) = 0 STARS

The best Bluetooth, Noise-Canceling headphones
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have had many headphones over time from stereo and hi-fi type, however, I have to say these headphones make me smile. As far as sound quality, they took a step up from the Bose QC25's. They play louder and a little bit smoother than the 25's. They way a tad bit more, but still super light. The QC25s were great headphones as far as sound, but these are even better. These QC35's have no harsh highs or transitions like the QC25's. It amazes me how Bose stepped up the sound quality, along with having wireless capability. Out of all the high end headphones I have owned, I loved my QC25's, but the 35's are well worth the money! They will truly make you smile.

Not good.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. These headphones should be a lot better for the price. The sound quality is junk compared to the Sony ones and they are not that comfortable to wear. Returned them and went with the sony ones, their a little more money but you'll be happier.

Best audio purchase
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought these nearly 7 years ago now and they're still holding strong. I've gotten a couple of sets of foam pads from Bose's website (super cheap and easy replacement), but aside from that they work just like they did out of the box. I still get over 20 hours of battery life out of them after all this time and I've used them almost every day since I got them. I'd recommend these in a heartbeat to anyone

Toughest Headset I Own. Still Strong after 5 years
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is a long, long time review. I have been working in Data Centers since 2014. It is very loud inside of the colocation floor and I would need to call customers while on the floor. I finally purchased these in 2017 and they still work! I no longer work out on the data center floor, but there were many times were customers would ask how they could hear me if I was in their cage. I would tell them every time, Bose QC 35's. I have had to replace the ear muffs and headband due to using them daily for the past 5 years, but normal wear and tear and it has cost me less than $100 to do that for the past 5 years. I am also able to use these on my Xbox and Playstation systems while using the android audio cable (and an Xbox headset adapter for Xbox). The headset still sounds great (Bose was never the best sounding, but that is not why I purchased this headset) and the batteries still hold a long charge. Great product, my Best Buy in the past 10 years. I will continue using them as long as the speakers work. Even if I have to solder a new battery in.

Best Bluetooth Headphones on the Market
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Bose has done it again. I haven't upgraded my Bose Headphones since buying QC 15s a long time ago. I've replaced those ear cups a number of times, but they've always been my go to. You cannot beat the noise cancellation. The battery life was great. But the one thing always holding it back was the wire. Call it a first world problem (it most certainly is) but I got tired of a dangling headphone cable when trying to navigate through an airport. Or having a cable dangle by your side. I passed on the QC35, honestly, because of price and the fact that my QC 15s still worked great. But with the addition of Google Assistant (I'm a heavy Android user and user of Google services) I was intrigued and finally decided to make the leap. First, sound performance. The quality is great, whether the highs notes of classical music, or the bass from your favorite pop songs, the QC35 like virtually all Bose products deliver great, balanced sound. Second, design (weight and dimensions). The headphones are a nice black color, which in my opinion looks professional. They are extremely light, but I do question their durability (my same minor complaint of the QC15). It goes without saying you must be careful with these headphones, you take care of them and they'll take care of you. If you bend them too quickly, drop them, put them in your bag without the case (more on that in a bit) they will break. It's a fact of life. The buttons are minimalist (Google Assistant on left ear cup, volume controls on the right) which make it easy to use. Overall, I'll take less durability (i.e. they can't take a beating) to keep down the weight. Third, comfort. These are so light, they feel like you aren't wearing them. The ear cups have a nice soft leathery feel to them and the headband is adequately padded. I also like that the ear cups go around my ears completely. What I mean is, I had Beats Studio Wireless headphones and the ear cups never fully surrounded my ear, which led to discomfort while wearing for long periods. But one caveat, with no airflow, my ears do sometimes get hot and I have to take them off for a few minutes, but to me, I deal with that for ANY ear cup headphone. Fourth, Battery life. These bad boys do last about 20 hours which is way more than you can ask for in any Bluetooth speaker. And using the 3.5 mm cord to connect to your device with a wire, can double the battery life effectively matching the QC15. Five, miscellaneous (namely Google Assistant). If you have an Android and use Google Assistant for anything, these are great to have. If you get a text, the headphones tell you, you then hit the Google Assistant button once and then your text is read to you. You want to send a text? Hold the Google Assistant button down while you say who you wanna send a message to. Want to know the weather? Same thing, hold down the button and ask for the weather. It's a convenience worth having if you listen to your headphones frequently. It's just so easy to use. Lastly, in re miscellaneous items, I must add that I am in favor of all companies that provide you with a case when not using their expensive headphones. I think most big companies do it and Bose is no exception. Two things of note about the case. 1) It's a little squishy, meaning it could have been a little more "hardshell" for my tastes; and 2) it has a little picture on a flap inside the case showing you how to fold your headphones when putting them in the case. Why am I mentioning that? Because it is a constant reminder of how to store your headphones without "squishing" the ear cups. When you fold up the Beats StudioWireless headphones, you necessarily push the bottoms of the two ear cups together which can cause a deformity in the shape of the ear padding. Minor point, but it's the little touches like that I, personally, appreciate. At the end of the day, these are expensive headphones, so they are only for select people. Having said that, if you are looking to spend some money on quality headphones that you are willing to take care of, these Bose QC35 II with Google Assistant (can't comment on iPhone users) is a tough one to beat. I absolutely recommend these for anyone looking for noise canceling headphones and doubly recommend it for those who regularly utilize the Google Assistant and are in the market for noise cancelling headphones.

Pricey but well worth the $$$
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. When it comes to headphones, I really appreciate great audio and convenience. I found both in the BOSE QueitComfort 35 Bluetooth headset. I already owned the Beats Wireless Studio hdphns and thought I liked them. After using them on several biz trips I found myself leaving them at home (just a tad bit too big/bulky) for use during air travel. When I came across the BOSE I could immediately tell the difference in sound, ease of wear and LONG battery life (20 hrs vs 9). The BEATS are not "bad", it's just the BOSE are so much BETTER. Paid $380 for them (vs $350 for BEATS), but its well worth the investment. I take OFF 1/10th of a point from this BOSE review for their decision to use a 3/32nd, mini plug on one end of the cable used to to physically connect hdphones to audio source (the other end is a typical 1/8th inch standard plug, the same used to connect to your smart phn). A minor issue considering the many function controls you have over audio device you connect to -- volume, pause, skip ahead. Best of all IT'S WIRELESS, so cable connection is optional. Bought them using BB credit card and paid off within first month, so I received 5% back in rewards. Very satisfied BOSE customer.

As always, great product from Bose
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was somewhat skeptical about making the purchase due to two reasons: 1) level of noise cancelling compared to Ear Plug model and 2) Size & fitment. After using this product for few days, I learned I was overly cautious considering I already own multiple Bose products: Portable Bluetooth speaker and two Quiet Comfort Ear Plug models which have been excellent in every aspects. This product is much lighter than how it looks and perceived based on its appearance, and is very comfortable on ear. The longest I've worn without taking it off was just over 2 hours and I didn't have the pressured feeling on my ears. I owned two other name brand over the ear headphones with similar size, but Bose QC35 is much easier on my ears and head. As I do considerable amount of walking between home and work (train, bus, and walk consisting of 1.25 hours one-way), it is wonderful to have the Bluetooth feature. It's also just big/small enough where I can put my winter coat hood over the headphone (little tight, but manageable). In terms of the sound and noise cancelling quality, I am confident that it is very similar to my ear plug Bose model. I am not really on a picky/sensitive side like some of the music professionals on this review thread, but do very much appreciate superb quality and having the ability to enjoy my music in a quiet setting (especially during my commute using public transportation), and this product does what my ear plug version does without noticing much different (almost none in terms of quality). Also, my ear which I consider an average size (relative thing ^^), fits perfectly in the round cushion and conveniently serves as an ear muff which is plus in cold weather. Overall, I am extremely happy with this product and look forward to enjoying it for a long time.

Superior Sound & Performance
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Received these as a gift over a year ago, decided to review them after finally being able to compare them to other brands. It is my first set of noise-cancelling headphones. These have beome my go-to, daily headphones. I am old skool and have always preferred over the ear headphones. I love how they cover my ears and gives the "don't talk to me" appearance. These have a classy, minimalist look. They are made well, and sturdy. The storage case is also made well and will protect them. They do not take a long time to charge, which is great. They connect very easily to my iPhone & ipad. There is also a Bose app which you can download. They are extremely comfortable to wear, and can be worn for long periods of time. I use mine daily and sometimes for several hours a day. I have even fallen asleep with them on. I have never worn them until the battery dies, however one thing I have noticed is that phone calls are not as clear when the battery is low... more than once I have had people say they could not hear me well. Otherwise the quality is great, and no one can even tell I'm using headphones to talk. Listening to music is superior. I have tried higher end JBL, Sony, and SkullCandy headsets, and in my opinion, they are good, but not as good as Bose. I have the volume pretty high and it doesn't disturb others. They are pricey, as are all Bose products, but you definitely get what you pay for. I would definitely get these again if something happened to the ones I have. PROS: superior sound, comfortable to wear, not bulky CONS: pricey!

Acceptable
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've owned the old Soundlink AE headphones for a while, now. As this is a rather large purchase for headphones, I listened to both the Soundlink II and the QC 35 in store. At the store, the QC 35 made the Soundlink sound like a set of dollar store tin cans. However, Upon bringing these home, I wanted to compare to my wife's SLAE, as I had bought those for her birthday, on clearance (so I got a great price), and I wanted to know whether I would trade her up and take her old ones. Everyone complains about how the old dongle looked on the SLAE, however, I never really cared. it was greatly functional, and it never seemed to be in the way (we've used them consistently for gaming and phone use). Switching between the 2 pairs of headphones on my Samsung Galaxy Note 4, I left the volume on my living room's surround system up, and there was a notable difference in the sound quality, however, rather than a better/worse scenario, it turned out to just be different. The old SLAE had less bass, however, the sound quality seemed to be a little clearer and with the slightest hint of a higher volume. The noise cancelling of the QC35 was immediately evident, however, as soon as any volume was applied, the difference became rather hard to distinguish. The QC35 feels heavier, and the leather is not as soft, so I have to give comfort to the SLAE. Also, the joints in the QC35 tend to pull my hair. I like the sturdiness of the case for the QC35, but the SLAE definitely takes less space. I've only had the QC35 for a few hours, now, so assessments are initial, however, I would have to toss the SL II out of the running and say that my comparison between the QC35 and SLAE is a much closer comparison. As I can't seem to find the SLAE anymore, I can't really complain about the "upgrade," but I don't really feel that I've gotten that much money's worth for buying the newer model, yet. Going into the good. These have great sound. They're still very comfortable, and they look sleek and nice. Again, the case seems very sturdy, and I will feel at ease taking these overseas in a couple weeks. My cons for this product also begin with the case. The case requires unnecessary room in a carry on, and the joints pull my hair. The charging cable is unacceptable. That will be replaced asap. My other concern is the microphone. It seems to be every bit as responsive and clear as that of my "ugly" dongle, however, being integrated, I expected it to work on the cable tether, as well. It only works via bluetooth (as does the SLAE). Another major win for the SLAE was the ability to remove that bluetooth dongle and charge it elsewhere while the headphones continued to function as a perfectly good wired device. I've noticed almost zero difference between tethered and wireless in the SLAE, whereas the QC35 has a notable difference between the 2 states, and charging the device while listening requires 2, that's right TWO, cables connected while wearing the set. Talk about removing the bulk of the removable "ugly" dongle. My overall assessment for these headphones remains good, and I still recommend them, especially if you don't have the older SL model to compare them to. They are, all in all, a wonderful pair of speakers, and if you're into bass, then these speakers are definitely the choice of the 2 for you. I'm just a little disappointed considering the time and price gaps, and the fact that my SLAE remains a viable comparison.

Comfort Comfort Comfort
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I previously bought the Sony MDR-1000X. Those had awesome sound and tremendous features like personalized NC. Hit a button and it will figure out if you are wearing glasses and will up the NC to compensate for the gap with the glasses. It was kind of uncomfortable for me, I had to take them on and off due to pressure. The Bose QC35 has none of this uncomfortable feelings, I can wear all day without feeling like my head is clamped ever. The Sonys were heavy feeling, these Bose light feeling. If I were a new buyer I would really figure out how sensitive you are to a headphone being on your head for a long period. If you have no issues get the Sony, better sound and NC but a little bit. If you value extreme comfort get the Bose. I returned the Sony and Got the Bose.
