The Bose QuietComfort Ultra (Gen 1) truly lives up to its name. From the moment I put them on, the comfort stood out — lightweight, plush ear cushions, and zero pressure even after hours of use. These are easily the most comfortable headphones I’ve owned.
The noise cancellation is phenomenal. Whether it’s airplane engines, office chatter, or everyday household noise, the QC Ultra creates an almost unreal sense of quiet. Bose has clearly perfected ANC, and this model sets a new benchmark.
Sound quality is rich, balanced, and immersive. The bass is deep but controlled, mids are clear, and highs are crisp without being harsh. The immersive audio feature adds a spacious, almost surround-like feel that makes music and movies more engaging.
Battery life is solid for daily use, and the controls are intuitive and responsive. Call quality is also excellent — voices come through clearly even in noisy environments.
Overall, the Bose QC Ultra Gen 1 is a premium product that delivers on comfort, sound, and silence. If you’re looking for top-tier noise-canceling headphones that you can wear all day, this is an easy recommendation.

As a longtime Bose user, I’ve consistently been impressed with their audio products, and the QuietComfort Ultra Wireless Noise Cancelling Headphones are no exception. I didn’t initially plan to upgrade, but after trying them in-store, I couldn’t resist—especially after catching them on sale during Prime Day (also discounted in-store).
The sound on these headphones is phenomenal, as expected from Bose. The noise-canceling is top-notch, instantly muting distractions and allowing for a deeply immersive listening experience. Whether I’m working, traveling, or just relaxing, the clarity and depth of the audio—especially in the mids and highs—are crisp and balanced. The bass isn’t overpowering but still delivers that solid thump for bass-heavy tracks.
Comfort is a huge factor, especially for long listening sessions, and Bose nailed it. The plush ear cushions and lightweight build make these headphones incredibly easy to wear for hours. However, I do wish they offered more color options. My previous pair was navy blue, and while black is sleek, it feels a bit standard. It’d be great to see more variety in the future.
The battery life on these headphones is impressive as well, lasting through extended workdays without needing a charge. Wireless connectivity is seamless, and the multipoint feature makes switching between devices smooth and efficient.
Overall, the Bose QuietComfort Ultra delivers everything you’d expect from a premium pair of wireless noise-canceling headphones—excellent sound, top-tier comfort, and seamless functionality. If you’re a fan of high-quality audio, these are definitely worth the investment. A few more color options would be a welcome addition, but that’s a small quibble for an otherwise outstanding product.

The Bose QuietComfort Ultra headphones are easily some of the most comfortable and best noise-canceling headphones I’ve ever used. From the moment I put them on, they felt lightweight, soft, and comfortable enough for long listening sessions.
The noise cancellation is excellent and does an amazing job blocking out background noise, whether I’m studying, traveling, or just trying to relax. It creates a quiet, immersive experience that really lets you focus on the audio.
Sound quality is clear, balanced, and detailed. The bass is deep without being overwhelming, and vocals and instruments sound natural and crisp. Everything from music to movies and calls sounds great.
Battery life is reliable, and the headphones hold a charge well for daily use. Controls are easy to use, and switching between devices is smooth and convenient.
Overall, the Bose QuietComfort Ultra headphones deliver top-tier noise cancellation, great sound quality, and exceptional comfort. They feel premium in every way and are an excellent choice for anyone looking for high-quality over-ear headphones.

I’ve owned and tested quite a few over-ear headphones over the years, and these genuinely stand out. The sound quality is excellent right out of the box — clean mids, deep but controlled bass, and clear highs without being fatiguing at Bass 0 Mids +4 Treble -2. They handle everything well, from music and movies to calls and podcasts.
Noise cancellation is very effective, especially for constant background noise like traffic, HVAC, or office environments. It creates a calm, immersive listening experience without that heavy pressure some ANC headphones cause.
Comfort is another big plus. The ear cups are soft, lightweight, and breathable enough for long listening sessions without discomfort. Battery life has also been solid so far — easily lasting through multiple days of regular use.
Build quality feels premium, controls are intuitive, and pairing was quick and seamless. Overall, these feel like a well-designed, high-end product that’s worth the price. If you’re looking for reliable performance, comfort, and great sound in one package, these are an easy recommendation.

The Bose Quiet Comfort headphones are my second pair of Bose headphones. The first I’ve owned was the Truesound from 2015. I still use it today. I’ve replaced the earpads but they work as if they are still brand new. I would expect these Quiet Comforts to last just as long.
They are comfortable to wear and adjust well over my head. The headband flexes and bends over my head. When putting them on, it filters out most of the noise around me.
There is an app for Android and iOS. I currently have it paired to my Pixel 8 Pro. It comes with USBC charging cables (USB-A to USB-C). I’m glad more and more devices are using USBC. It also comes with 3.5mm to 2.5mm audio cables. You can use these cables to connect the headphones to your audio device via headphone jack.
On Android, the Bose app is horrible. It only works the first time I connect the headphones via bluetooth. Afterwards, the phone connects fine, and Android recognizes it. But the Bose app fails to connect. I would have to reset and connect all over again. You do not need to use the app to use the headphones. If the phone connects to it, then it will work. You just cannot change your settings like noise cancelling or other modes.
The touch sensitive volume control on the right earphone is responsive. You can connect to a couple of other devices as well. The app needs a lot of work on Android but overall, the quality of the headphones is great. Noise cancelling is great. It has a good amount of bass, not too much.

Soft pads for ears; it does eliminate noise outside of the headphones; everyone that sees me where my headphones compliments the color (Lunar Blue). It's sleek, comes in a great case, and the only reason why I don't give it 5 stars is b/c after 3 hours or so, the tip top of my head (mid-scalp) begins to hurt. (I guess I need a little more padding.)
Easily connects to blue tooth on my cell phone and desktop computers.

The headphone audio quality is excellent. I upgrade from Bose QC35 II and it was well worth it. The one thing that I will say is that connectivity with 2+ devices gets a bit dicey, but I think this is true of any audio product operating in an Apple ecosystem that is not Apple. The battery lfie is astounding, the noise cancelling is excellent, the comfort level is amazing, and I'm very happy with the color too. Very happy with this purchase and highly recommend

Tested these in store and I’m not sure how anyone buys anything else. Sound quality beats the competition. The bass is fantastic. Deducting one star only because the volume doesn’t get as high as I like in the immersive audio setting. This is okay though because we probably shouldn’t have these things that loud anyway. Don’t waste your money on other brands. Don’t even waste your money on the quiet comfort headphones. If you can afford Bose, please just get these! I’ve had them for a few months now and they work just as well as when I first bought them. The charge lasts forever. The connectivity is seamless.

The Bose headphones deliver a refined listening experience built around industry-leading noise-cancellation and impressive comfort. Bose’s adaptive ANC remains one of the best available, effectively reducing background noise in busy environments without introducing pressure or distortion. The sound profile is clean and well-balanced, offering clear mids, smooth highs, and a warm low end that complements most genres.
Comfort is another standout feature. The lightweight frame, soft ear cushions, and stable fit make the headphones ideal for long listening sessions, whether during work, travel, or commuting. Battery life is competitive, and the controls—both physical and app-based—are intuitive and responsive.
While the premium build and performance justify the price for many listeners, users seeking more customizable sound might find the EQ options somewhat limited compared to competitors. Still, for those prioritizing noise-cancellation, comfort, and an overall polished audio experience, Bose remains a top-tier choice.

Hi. Thank you for posting. There are two timers in your headphones that can power off your headphones if they are not used for a period of time to conserve power. The Auto-off setting, which is adjustable in the Bose app and the Motion Detection timer will turn off your headphones If no movement is detected for 60 minutes. With the cushions, those are made from protein leather, which can naturally deteriorate over time with use. This can be accelerated by environmental factors such as heat and humidity, but the great news is that we do stock replacement cushions. If you require further assistance, please get in touch with us at https://bose.life/3BgUIIU. We would love to help. Marvin - Bose Customer Support

Love these head phones I bought a pair for my wife and I. Her the rose gold and myself the black. I was decideding between these and the sony. I'm glad I chose these. I will start with the fact that the carrying case is very slim and easily stored for travel. The headphones fold and twist a certain way to fit in. It can be a little confusing at first. We love these for airplane travel. completely blocks out the airplane drone in quiet mode. The eq changer is nice. chage to alert mode and you can hear everything around you. change to quiet or immersive and you cannot hear someone directly infront of you talking. pretty crazy technology. they are light and very comfy for long term use I have found. Battery lasts a really long time went on a 5 hour flight, used them the whole time, and the batttery only went down to 80%. These are about as nice as you can get for the money. Unless you are an audiophile going up from here I think would be a waste the bass sounds amazing. These are awesome and I'm glad I bought them!

I tried so many different noise cancelling head phones and finally decided on QC ultra. I am not a big tech guy to analyze all acoustic qualities and my decision was based on what experienced in short time tests and I have no regrets yet. I use it daily during meditation and on long distance flights with comfort and satisfaction. Sleek design and lightweight is also a plus point.

AMAZ…ZING! I tried several brands of over the ear headphones and wireless ear buds. These by far without a doubt have been the best. With the others, I had to sacrifice something. Good sound quality with noise cancellation meant my friends and family could barely hear me talking through the built in speaker. When they could hear me well it meant they heard all the background and ambient sounds filling the room included with that. From JBLs, to over the ear and ear bud Beats to Air Pods. These have far surpassed the competition where I’m no longer sacrificing comfort or sound quality, paired with the lasting battery. I can take a full day of meetings without a recharge. I use them everyday for remote at a desk work.

Excellent Noise Cancelling Headphones

I have recently started going back into the office, but after working from home for 3 years, I can't stand all the noise in the office. I needed something to help me focus, and the Bose QuietComfort Ultra headphones are just what I needed. These are my first noise cancelling headphones and I'm very impressed.
HARDWARE: The build quality is excellent. The headphones fit nicely in the compact case that is provided. A nice touch they added is an image inside the case to show you the proper position the headphones should go in the case. The headphones are comfortable to wear, from the ear cups, to the padding against your head.
USABILITY: The headphones have two buttons, one for controlling the music and audio modes and the other for power and phone connectivity. It's easy to switch audio modes, pause, change tracks, etc. There is a virtual slider on the ear cup for changing the volume. I really like how easy it is to change the volume using that slider without having extra buttons.
SOUND QUALITY: The sound quality is excellent. I'm not a hardcore audiophile, but I can appreciate the sound quality is much better than the top tier ear buds I previously used. What I'm really impressed is with the noise cancellation. I didn't realize how much noise it would filter out. I tested it at work and the phone conversations were almost completely filtered out, whereas they used to drive me nuts. As i write this review I'm wearing the headphones so I can focus while my son is watching TV.
FEATURES: The setup with the app was very easy and the app itself is great. By you have 3 modes configured by default: Quiet, Aware and Immersion. You can add or remove any that you want and you can customize the amount of noise cancelling, on a scale of 1-10. You can adjust the EQ using the app, I like to boost the bass.
The only negative think about these headphones is the voice it uses for feedback, like telling you what device it's connected to or what mode you just switched to. It's just really horrible and hard to listen to. Fortunately you don't have to listen to it very often, but there are much better voice readers out there, so it's kind of disappointing. Ultimately, the voice doesn't affect the experience all that much.
BOTTOM LINE: I am so glad I have these headphones when for when I go into the office, but I'll be using them for more than just noise cancellation. The audio quality is superior to anything I've had before, so I'll be reaching for these headphones next time I listen to music. I would definitely recommend these headphones.

I was honestly scared to buy this after reading all the reviews and watching videos about how poor the mic quality was, connectivity issues, etc. but I'm really glad I did. My main critique, like others have pointed out, is that there's no "off" mode for ANC––it's always on some sort of ANC, and the most you can do to reduce it is put it on the lowest "Aware" setting. Sometimes ANC can give me a headache after having the headphones on for extended periods of time, so that is a negative for me.
But I ultimately decided to keep the headphones because of a spate of other pluses; trust me, I had full intention of returning this because I expected it to be just as bad as the other reviews/Reddit made it out to be. I swore off headphones after a terrible experience with the AirPods Max but this really sold me on them again.
First of all, as one review mentioned, this is the solution for glasses wearers - the pads are light and soft, almost weightless. I used to have the AirPods Max and it gave me the absolute worst headache because it would push my glasses in on the side of my face.
Second, I didn't have any issues with the mic quality on Zoom or FaceTime; it came across just as clearly as my AirPods, which I deem to be just a little bit grainier than speaking with the laptop built-in mic. I'm not sure if this was fixed in an update or if the product has been updated or what, but I haven't had any issues with my voice sounding far away or not coming through.
Third, I haven't experienced any connectivity issues with my phone or computer - it's always been a seamless transition between the two, and the headphones turn on immediately when I put them on after sleep mode.
Lastly, I really enjoy the Immersive Audio feature as a casual music listener. I know some people find it gimmicky, but for me it really elevates the listening experience. It's crazy that it sounds like it's coming from all around you or even from outside of your speakers.
Also, while this is more minor, I really love the Deep Plum color--sophisticated and elegant and it matched my vibe. Loved how the charger, case, and headphone jack matched.
Overall, I'm happy with my purchase. I'd recommend buying it to try it out from Best Buy if you are feeling on the fence. Even though Bose gives discounts from their website, I heard nightmare stories about trying to return the headphones through them so I bit the bullet and paid a little extra to have the reassurance of a Best Buy return.
This review isn't sponsored by Best Buy, Bose, or anyone - but I thought I'd share given that I feel like my experience has vastly differed from a lot of the negative reviews. Maybe it's because I'm more of a casual headphone user, or maybe I got lucky with the item I received, but I hope this review helps someone make a decision about these!

I settled on the Bose QuietComfort Ultra headphones after an underwhelming experience with the Sennheiser MOMENTUM 4, and testing out my friend's Sony WH-1000XM5 headphones. The Bose are the best for cancelling out loud city noises, annoying neighbor noises in apartment buildings, and construction noises. All while having amazing battery life. These headphones are a comfortable fit, they are lightweight and have the ability for connectivity to two devices at the same time. The call audio is great, the companion application is easy to use and allows customizable EQ settings. The carrying case is leather like has a nice simple design. Overall I'm happy with this purchase.

I work on a floor with lots of phone calls coming in. With these I never hear anything outside of what I am listening to. If coworkers need me, they either have to message me or come over to my cube to get my attention. These also flawlessly work with my cell phone and office PC via Bluetooth at the same time. Also call quality and people hearing me works great without a microphone hanging out the front.
Also very comfortable on my head and battery lasts all day!

Connecting and setup on these headphones was easy and fast. Scan the QR code and download the Bose app and you are in business.
The headphones come in a nice padded case. Sturdy construction and easy to adjust. The earpads are very comfortable and fit nicely over the ears. It would be nice to see some fun colors instead of just black and white. Also included are 3.5 mm to 2.5 mm audio cable and a USB-C (A to C) cable that is 20” long.
With the Bose app you can adjust setting modes. You can also adjust on the headphones (right ear) by a long press on the control button allows you to change settings. A short press is for pause / resume. There is also a volume control strip where you can slide your finger to increase / decrease volume. On your left ear there is a 2.5mm jack.
Quiet - highs hit harder and bass drops the deepest.
Aware - hear your music and surroundings with full transparency.
Immersion - combine full noise cancellation and Bose Immersive Audio for best sound quality.
Equalizer – works well and easy to adjust.
Immersive Audio – Spatial audio makes the sound more realistic as it comes at you from all angles – just like in real life.
Still / Motion settings – will you be sitting or moving?
Tailored sound that analyzes the shape of your ears, adapts any distortion to give the best sound quality.
Spatial audio makes the sound more realistic as it comes at you from all angles – just like in real life.
Call quality was very good. Two of my calls had poorer audio quality but that may have been partially on the other end.
Bose says the range is 30’ but I was able to extend that to 36-40’. Quality was fine until it lost connection. My usage was varied as I used all 3 modes so my battery life was about 21 hours. Immersion mode uses the most battery. Charging took just under 3 hours from about 5%.
Highly recommended.

I understand that these headphones are expensive, but if you can afford them or are considering investing in them, I believe they are absolutely worth it. I previously owned the Sony XM5 headphones and enjoyed them, but the case was too large and inconvenient to carry around. After conducting research, I decided to return the XM5s and purchase the Bose QC Ultra headphones, and I was extremely impressed. The QC Ultra headphones are constructed with better quality materials and are incredibly comfortable to wear for extended periods. The sound quality is also exceptional. While the Sony headphones are a good choice, the Bose headphones offer superior comfort, portability, sound, and overall quality. Although the microphone on the Bose headphones is not as good as the Sony headphones, the difference is not significant. In my opinion, Bose headphones are the superior choice.
