As a music enthusiast and an avid traveler, my best experience with the Bose S1 Pro Portable Bluetooth Speaker in sleek black has been nothing short of extraordinary. This powerful and compact speaker has proven to be a game-changer, delivering exceptional sound quality and versatility that exceeded my expectations.
First and foremost, the audio performance of the Bose S1 Pro is nothing short of remarkable. The speaker boasts impressive clarity, deep bass, and rich tones that bring music to life. Whether I'm listening to my favorite tracks indoors or enjoying the tunes during a beach bonfire with friends, the S1 Pro's sound fills the space with crystal-clear audio, immersing me in the music like never before.
Portability is a key factor for me, and the Bose S1 Pro excels in this department. Its lightweight and ergonomic design make it easy to carry around with its built-in handle, and the rechargeable battery offers impressive longevity, allowing me to enjoy up to 11 hours of continuous playtime. I no longer worry about finding power outlets during outdoor adventures or travel; the S1 Pro is a true companion that keeps the party going wherever I am.
The speaker's versatility is another standout feature that sets it apart from others in the market. Not only does it offer Bluetooth connectivity for seamless wireless streaming from my smartphone or tablet, but it also supports multiple inputs, including two XLR/1/4" combo jacks and a 3.5mm auxiliary input. This means I can easily connect microphones, instruments, or even mixers directly to the speaker, making it an excellent choice for small gigs or impromptu performances.
Furthermore, the S1 Pro's three-position Auto EQ ensures optimal sound quality regardless of the speaker's placement. Whether it's placed on the floor, on a speaker stand, or mounted on a tilt-back stand, the speaker intelligently adjusts its sound output for the best listening experience.
Durability is another aspect that impressed me. The sturdy construction of the Bose S1 Pro instills confidence, and the robust metal grille protects the speaker from accidental bumps and scratches. I have used this speaker extensively in various outdoor settings, and it has never let me down in terms of performance or build quality.
Lastly, Bose's attention to detail shines through the intuitive control panel. The easy-to-use interface allows for quick adjustments to volume, EQ settings, and Bluetooth pairing, ensuring a hassle-free user experience.
In conclusion, my experience with the Bose S1 Pro Portable Bluetooth Speaker has been nothing short of outstanding. Its superior audio quality, portability, versatility, and durability make it a top-notch choice for anyone seeking a premium portable speaker. Whether I'm hosting a gathering, relaxing outdoors, or embarking on a travel adventure, the Bose S1 Pro elevates my music experience to new heights, solidifying its position as my go-to portable speaker of choice. With this incredible speaker, Bose continues to impress and redefine the standards for audio excellence.

Small But Mighty, Perfect For Smaller Gigs

By far the simplest and best sounding mini portable PA out there. For bigger gigs I bring out the BIG Bose system, but a lot of smaller things can go off with just this little beast. For more intimate private events, backyard/outdoor parties, and personal use - it packs quite a punch. And with bluetooth, you can let others take over the music (this can go either way...).
It's even great for solo performers and I've had a singer/songwriter use it with an acoustic guitar/instrument mic + vocal mic and it sounded amazing for an outdoor performance.
DJ parties indoors with under 50 folks? Perfect. Probably more sound than you'll ever need unless you do really large gigs. I'll probably get a 2nd one for true stereo and a bit more BOOM.
An outdoor wedding reception on a budget with 100+ folks and a few toasts/announcements? Everyone was blown away by the sound-for-size aspect.

I’m a professional mobile DJ with over 18 years experience. I’m always looking to improve my gear with the intent of providing my clients with the best audio experience at a reasonable cost. In doing so my gear must be compact but powerful. I wanted to upgrade my cocktail hour sound setup and after doing my research I found this speaker to be perfect for the situation in every way. It’s compact in size, weighs approximately 15 pounds, provides amazing sound, has XLR inputs for microphones or instruments. The speaker also has a rechargeable battery so the entire set up can be made wireless #Gamechanger. This speaker makes my cocktail hour sound setup and break down time take less than 5 minutes. Thank you Bose.

Perfect for outdoor worship!

As a pastor of a church trying to do an outdoor worship service during the pandemic to keep people safely socially distanced, we needed an easy sound system for a piano and mic, along with bluetooth for extra music support. We bought two Bose S1 Pro's because there was no power supply to where the shade in the church lawn is. These two tiny speakers worked perfectly in providing great sound coverage while on speak stands and running off the battery. People were very impressed how much volume they generated for their size. Could easily hear from 50 yards out. Setup and teardown was easy and took minutes. Wish they were a little cheaper, but it was worth it for the ease of use. Cannot recommend highly enough.

I usually don't leave reviews but I have to say that this speaker is unbelievable. I've had it for about two years now and have taken it out camping, to the beach and even have used it for an outside movie night as my theater sound. It is so durable. We have also used it for Karaoke. It's got a connection for a mic so you can rock some music through it and sing along. We hook it up to a smart TV with Youtube and play through the speaker so we can see the words from the karaoke versions of songs that are on Youtube. I take it everywhere!! The sound is so clear and loud with bass that's dialed in perfect. And believe we when I say I am a true audiophile. I cannot believe the sound this thing puts out for being a portable bluetooth speaker. And I just found out there's a sub that Bose makes that you can connect to it. It's the Bose Sub1. So you can have two of these and run in stereo mode through the app and have the extra sub and have an amazing system fit for a large party. But to be honest, just one of these with no extra sub is more than enough. Don't hesitate just get it. You won't be disappointed. BEST PORTABLE BLUETOOTH SPEAKER EVER!!!!

Very nice. Sounds more like a speaker than a PA system. Easy connection, battery power as well as AC. I liked it so well I purchased a second one. Can connect both up to Bluetooth to play both at once. With the way the handle is easy to carry. It will be my go to speaker for all outdoor use, I all so use it indoors, when I want a simple Bluetooth hook-up and listen, when doing chores in different rooms. No cord to mess with and very robust sound.

If you are someone who needs a good tailgate speaker you will love the sound and the fact that the included battery takes care of you if you dont have electric or dc connector in the car.Bluetooth is a must so you can control the unit. Same can be said for the portable street musician or one man band. Create background tracks, save em on cell phone then use at gig and stream through bluetooth. Different configuring positions are amazing and great to be used as a stand alone monitor for live gigs with a band. 2 1/4 inch and XLR inputs are included. The Bose Modeling software can be turned on or off to maximize sound of instrument and microphone. I use the S1 in all those configurations and i am 100% guaranteed.

A little pricey for this speaker, but well worth it. You know what you are getting with a Bose product. Wonderful sound coming from this gem. Bass was surprisingly good even when it was on the speaker stand. Great for tailgating and any time you need music. The S1 packs a punch and will definitely put out some loud sound. The re-chargeable battery is wonderful and allows you to always be ready to play anywhere, anytime.

In the last two weeks I purchased the Pyle 15" PA speaker, the Altec Lansing Rockbox XL, the LG XBOOM 550W, and lastly the ION Sport XL 8" speaker. I'll follow up on all four at the bottom, but I'm here to talk about the winner, and so far above the class of any of the previously mentioned.
After all four of the previous being flops, and not having anywhere to test a speaker prior to buying it (we're still in Covid Coma), I thought if Guitar Center was open I could at least hear it. I explained why I was there and the sales guy was awesome and accommodating (I told him I was going to buy from Bestbuy because I had $150 in rewards - he did not blink and said he understood). I told him what I was trying to accomplish and asked if he had the Bose S1 Pro, to which he responded that is what I was going to show you.
He took me there and jacked in his BT link on the phone and played Tom Sawyer. At half volume it was almost uncomfortable to my aging ears, but then I really listened and it sounded like my Klipsch Towers for my home audio and I spent a ton on those.
Previously I was not looking for great separation of levels, just amplitude and clarity. The Bose S1 gives incredible separation, clarity, and a sub component that makes no sense in this small of a package, but that's Bose. The vocals (my area) are crystal clear and project over without drowning out the mids and lows. The amazing thing to me is how definite all of the instruments jump, and stand alone. No, it's not standing in front of a live jam, but this is as close as you'll get for $600.
This is an investment that I was not looking at, or honestly willing to consider until I heard the sound, and I knew the name from my one time ownership of the Acoustimass 10 series III, before that the 901 Series V (I'd run those again in a second if I could find a pair that was not hammered).
To take you further down the rabbit hole, my objective with this speaker is to move between sound for gatherings under our back patio, projecting out to the fire pit some 50' away, and occasionally to be used as a PA for smaller local events or if someone wants sound and PA for a wedding. The size makes it easy to move from an inside storage location to the back patio, throw in my Mackie mixer and a couple other speakers I use for larger events and I'm set. For what I'm doing this is an investment in quality and quality, and worth every dime.
If you're interested, I'm going to give a short blurb on the previous speakers and why they are not worth owning.
Pyle 15" PA speaker was a pretty good sounding speaker for the $200 price point, but had a bad master volume pot, and was a special order so I returned it without consideration of another long wait for delivering another. It comes with a stand and an inexpensive mic.
The Altec Lansing Rockbox XL made it home, I synced up with BT and as soon as I pressed the volume up button it popped, so I'm guessing a cap on the circuit board blew. It felt good, and the sound was flat, but had ok clarity for the 2 seconds it actually worked.
The LG XBOOM 550W was an open box, and about half of the buttons in the top worked. In spite of the fact it showed up on my iPhone 11 as a device, there was nothing I could do to pair it. The main button that did not work was the Function button, and that seemed to be a critical failure. This was my most expensive speaker in these trials at $300.
Lastly the ION Sport XL 8" speaker. It looked nice and felt nice, but stunk like most of the low end Chinese garbage they are shipping into the US. It synced up easily, and as soon as I started pushing songs to it the thing sounded like I made a cone out of plastic and put it over the output on my phone. It was tinny and there was zero bass, until you press the bass boost and then the bottom fell out and the mids and highs were washed out. There was no bass as people who understand bass expect. I don't listen to rap so I'm not looking for something to stop my heart. I'm looking for solid background fill, or a more pronounced presence when it is featured in a rock or God forbid, Country song.

I was beyond impressed with the quality sound from this speaker. The bass is amazing and you don’t have to turn the volume up loud to enjoy the clarity. I have zero regrets for this purchase and looking forward to my next event when I’m asked to provide the music.

This thing works good and small enough to be a carry on for planes. My kids use music for their karate turniments and this has enough power to be heard. It is a bit pricey, but it works. We've bought cheaper, and they work, but not for long and we could take them on the plane because they were too big

I've been extremely happy with my S1. Plan to buy another and possibly a bass module for PA use. Bluetooth range is excellent, setup is quick and easy, and the sound quality is fantastic - even without the bass module, lows are solid and boom-y, vocals, mids, and highs are clean and crisp. Not rated as waterproof, but seemed to survive a couple of small splashes around the pool just fine. Battery life is impressive, even at reasonably high volume.
I've primarily used my S1 as a bluetooth speaker, although it will see some PA duty very soon, so take that into consideration as far as this review.

for those looking for a comparison between the UE Hyperboom and this S1 there isn't one. I made that mistake. purchased the hyperboom because I don't need a PA but I did need an awesome outdoor bluetooth speaker capable of battery power. Purchased the Hyperboom first and was disappointed. Then I got his S1 and WHOOOAAA what a difference. Night and day! this S1 has several feature I will never use and yea it's 200 bucks more but oh my, the sound quality, base and volume are tow totally deferent categories. if you want a bluetooth to set next to the pool for a few friends get the boom. I you want a backyard party for 50 get the S1. Pay the money and don't regret it. Two Hyperbooms couldn't do what this guy does. And yea it's Bose so you either love the sound or you don't but I personally like the ease of use without trying to dial it in everywhere I go.
